Dreg pushed Rachel’s office door open with an air of cold determination. His anger was evident in his eyes as he walked in, his jaw clenched tightly.
His eyes landed on Zech, who was sitting opposite Rachel, and he clenched his fist in anger. He was going to kill Zech one of these days. He hated wolves to the core seeing Zech all the time was a form of testing holia patience.
If it wasn’t for the fact that he was someone she knew he would have turned he limb by limb giving him a slow death and making sure he felt his warm blood all over his fingers, he was the bastard who had hurt her so bad that she had passed out on the road that fateful day.
He always felt immense Anger whenever he was around him or anywhere near Rachel, his aura was so suffocating that Rachel felt the impart of it.
Rachel, taken aback by his sudden entrance, stood up from her seat and approached him cautiously. She didn’t like seeing him angry. He wasn’t sure what he would do when he was anger seeing how much he hated wolves and Zech especially so she didnt want any u necessary blood shared between the two men who if were left Aline would rather tear each other apart.
“What is wrong, Dreg?” she asked, her voice tinged with concern. “Why are you so angry?” She spoke walking closer to him despite his leaking aura that felt suffocating, she could see how much anger he was seeing how he clenched his fist tight.
Dreg sighed heavily, his frustration evident in his voice. “You cannot go,” he said curtly leaving no room for discussion at first.
Confusion washed over Rachel’s face as she tried to make sense of his words. “What do you mean by ‘I cannot go’?” she asked, her brows furrowing.
Dreg’s eyes narrowed as he explained, “Going to France is dangerous for lycans. There are a lot of wolves there, and they could easily recognize your scent. Besides, many hunters who hate lycans more than wolves reside there.”
Rachel’s heart sank, disappointment and sadness clouding her features. She really wanted to go. She had a lot to prove now that she was chosen, and she couldn’t afford to give up the chance. But she wondered how he knew about it when she only just knew about it just minutes ago but that wasn’t her problem now.
“They could easily recognize your scent, and that would put you in danger. I understand you want to participate in this competition, but there’s nothing you can do about it,” Dreg said in a low, steady voice, trying to convince her. He wanted her to understand him that he was trying to protect her.
He knew exactly what he went through, he wouldn’t wish for her to go through the same thing g it was not a good experience.
Rachel went back to her seat and sat down. She was feeling down and dejected. Bella walked up to her, squeezing her shoulders gently.
“It is alright,” she said with a reassuring smile. She knew Dreg was only saying this because he cared about her and her safety.
Zech, who had been silently observing the exchange, couldn’t bear to see Rachel so downcast. He stepped forward, his voice filled with determination. “I have an idea,” he interjected. Rachel’s eyes immediately lit up with hope as she looked at Zech.
She hoped that his idea would be something that helped her, she really watjed to attend this perfume competition.
Dreg, still angry, wanted her to stay so he could discuss her being his mate with her. “We can take you to the witch I told you about. She can seal your scent. That way, you’ll be safe.”
“Can she really seal my scent?” Rachel asked, her curiosity piqued.
“Yes, the witch I told you about can do it, as long as you are willing,” he said with a smile on his face. He was happy he was able to offer her a solution to the problem.
“Yes, of course I am. I can’t give up this chance, right Dreg?” she turned to him. He was silent for a moment. Hoping he would agree with what zech said she knew they didn’t see eye to eye
He knew that disagreeing with her would only make her sad. He could see how much she wanted to go, so he decided, “I’ll be coming along then.”
“That won’t be a problem. It’s settled then. I’ll see the witch before I go,” she hugged Bella in excitement. She turned to Dreg and mouthed a thank you to him. His anger immediately dissipated, and he smiled back at her.
And so, the three of them set off to meet the witch who could seal Rachel’s scent. After a few minutes’ drive, they arrived at a small cottage nestled deep within the woods.
Smoke billowed from the chimney, and the scent of herbs and magic hung in the air. This was the home of the witch he had earlier come to.
As they stood outside the door, about to knock, her voice echoed, “Only the lady shall come in. The rest stays out.” They all stared at her, but she smiled and assured them that she would be fine.
Rachel entered the house and found the middle-aged lady sitting down. She already knew what had brought Rachel here. She was infamous for nothing. “Sit, I can help you, but it comes at a price,” she said.
“What is it you want?” Rachel asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
“I want the blood of your wolf side. It is unique and rare,” she said in a steady tone, staring at her intently.
“What do you mean by ‘wolf’? I am a lycan,” Rachel said, a very confused look on her face. She couldn’t understand what the old lady was talking about.
The witch smiled and then laughed loudly. “My child, you are an abomination indeed.”
