Zech stood in shock, his mind reeling from the revelation that had just been dropped on him by the witch, Zanya.
Rachel, the woman he loved, was not just a mere human as he had always believed, but a lycan.
The news sent a wave of conflicting emotions crashing through him – disbelief, confusion, and a hint of fear.
He had always thought Rachel was just like any other person, unaware of the supernatural world that existed around them.
But now, faced with this new truth, Zech couldn’t help but question everything he thought he knew about her.
The memory of Rachel breaking her wooden desk with ease suddenly flashed through his mind.
At the time, he had dismissed it as an act of frustration, not realizing the significance behind it.
But now, with the knowledge that lycans possessed superhuman strength, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place.
Determined to confirm the truth, Zech bid farewell to Zanya, promising to bring her a drop of blood as she had requested.
As he left her abode, his mind raced with thoughts of how to protect Rachel’s identity as a lycan.
He knew all too well the stigma and danger that surrounded lycans. They were considered abominations, feared and hunted by humans and supernatural beings alike.
Zech’s love for Rachel was unconditional, and he couldn’t bear the thought of her facing any harm or discrimination due to her true nature.
He knew he had to find a way to shield her from the prying eyes of the world.
As he walked through the darkened streets, Zech’s mind churned with ideas. He contemplated seeking the help of other supernatural beings who might be able to assist in hiding Rachel’s true identity.
Perhaps there were witches or warlocks who possessed the power to conceal her lycan essence, he was glad there were in las Vegas where there weren’t much supernatural but she was eventually going to come back to new York, he had to act fast.
Lost in his thoughts, Zech found himself standing outside Dreg’s apartment. He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the conversation that lay ahead.
He knew he had to approach the topic with care and sensitivity, ensuring that Rachel felt safe and supported.
He knocked on the door, his heart pounding in his chest. When Rachel opened the door, her eyes widened in surprise at the sight of him. “Zech, what are you doing here?” she asked, her voice filled with curiosity and malice.
Dreg had already taken her home, so she could rest, he didn’t want her doing any more work for 1 week, he insisted she stayed at home, same thing her friend Bella told her.
Zech took a moment to compose himself before speaking. “Rachel, we need to talk,” he said, his voice steady but filled with concern. “It’s important.”
Dreg walked out of the door and faced Zech with a scowl on his face “she needs rest” he said and was about to shut the door but Zech held it.
“You don’t get to decide for her” he turned and faced Rachel “it is important I talk to please”.
“Dreg gave us a few minutes okay” she stepped and opened the door, she sensed the seriousness in his tone. As they settled on the couch, Zech gathered his thoughts, trying to find the right words to express his fears and intentions.
“Rachel, I recently had a conversation with a witch named Zanya,” Zech began, his gaze locked with hers.
“She revealed something to me that I find hard to believe, but I need to know the truth from you.”
Rachel’s brows furrowed in confusion, her eyes searching Zech’s face for answers. “What did she tell you?” she asked cautiously, but she seemed to have figured out what he was talking about.
Zech took a deep breath, his voice calm but filled with urgency. “She told me that you are a lycan,” he said, watching Rachel’s reaction closely.
Rachel’s eyes widened in surprise, her breath catching in her throat. She had always been careful to keep her true nature hidden, fearing the consequences if it were to be discovered. But now, faced with Zech’s knowledge, she knew she couldn’t deny the truth any longer.
She stared at him first before she nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. “Yes, Zech. It’s true. I am a lycan.”
“You know the dangers surrounding a lycan right?”.
She had already done her research when she found out about Lyla, she cheeked and saw the history between wolves and lyacns they were always at war with each other
Zech reached out, gently taking her hands in his, offering her comfort and support. “Rachel, I want you to know that, I will protect you, even at the cost of my life” he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
“I love you, and I will do whatever it takes to protect you and keep you safe.”
Rachel’s heart swelled with gratitude as she looked into Zech’s eyes, seeing the love and determination reflected in them.
She knew she had found a rare and precious ally in him, someone who would stand by her side no matter what, so she gently removed Zechs hand from hers.
“Thanks Zech, but I’ll be fine, I have Dreg to protect me” she said in a flat tone, she didn’t want Zech to have hope just yet.
He was hurt by her words, but he knew she needed time to heal and accept him again. He would wait for her no matter how long it took. Dreg stepped out and took Rachel by the hand “it’s time to rest, your body needs rest”.
Rachel stood up and turned to Zech “See me in my office tomorrow” she said walked towards her room, while Zech stood up in anger, he was happy Rachel was beginning to accept him, but Seeing her with Dreg makes him so angry, not just at dreg but at himself for being a jerk.
He stepped outside the house and dialed Vincent’s number, ” any news on peter?”.
“Nothing much, but I hear he’s been using the witches in his search for a lycan”.
Zechs heart sank when he heard that he was searching for a lycan. How did he know about the existence of a lycan? He figured Peter wasn’t alone; there must be a mastermind behind him.
“Keep a close watch on him from now on, I want to know all about his movement, the people he meets, and try to get one of those witches to work for us” he said and cut the call.
“I need to find a way to protect her”.
