Olive was really confused over what Wayne was saying. Why would Gia suddenly begin to come around him after she arrived when she hadn’t even shown any interest in him while working with him for five years?
“You just stood there when she kissed you. You stood there when she was spitting out bad words at me!” she blurted out. Wayne heaved a sigh. He swallowed and shut his eyes, then shifted back. Olive could see his fight with his wolf like it was a physical fight. He walked a little distance from Olive and palm the back of his head with both hands.
“Fucking stay inside!” he barked with his back turned to Olive. It took him two minutes before he calmed down then turned back to face her. His hair was a bit longer and darker in tone. Even his face still seemed feral. What in the world is this man?
“I didn’t want to commit murder in front of you,” he simply replied with that same calm voice he had used to speak to Gia.
“What? Murder? How does Gia kissing you have anything to do with you commiting murder?”
Olive’s mind was so blank that minute that she didn’t even reason out his words.
“I would have murdered her if you were not standing there. It was because of you I tried to control my wolf. I didn’t move an inch because I was fighting an inner battle and couldn’t control my body for fear of my wolf jutting out. If my wolf had burst out with that anger-with that fury, this building will be in rubbles right now. Gia would have been blasted into pieces with the force, but my mate too would be hurt,” he rasped. Then he breathed in deeply.
“I have never ever had to control my wolf, my might, my darkness… the way I had to tonight. I have always been reckless but suddenly I find myself trying to cage my beast’s destruction because there’s you. I think thrice because there’s you now, Olive.”
He covered the distance between them and held her hands, then looked deep into her eyes.
“I care about you, Olive. I’m an Alpha Wolf. I fucking hate it when my mate is hurt. Gia… she was hurting you and trying to ruin us, our relationship. No one messes with me like that. Nobody has ever dared yet she did!”
Olive pressed his hands as she saw his eyes flash wolf again. She perfectly understood him now. He was a feral and vicious wolf. If she, could hurt Gia that much for touching her mate then how much him? He would have truly killed her and destroyed more in the process. No wonder his eyes kept flashing colors. He had a stubborn wolf.
Wait, he said her villa would have collapsed? Heck, her very first property!
“I’m sorry,” she apologized in a low tone.
“I just… I couldn’t stand being rejected by my mate or seeing him with someone else. I thought you preferred her,” she continued and looked away from him. His hands clasped her cheeks and he made her look at him.
“Don’t apologize. I would never prefer anyone else, Olive. Believe me, I wanted you and only you from the moment I set my eyes on you in Selcece. I hated the way you looked. Tortured and in pain. I promised myself that you would never go through that again. I stand by that promise,” Wayne laid out firmly. He was so serious that Olive felt like she was being hugged by God. His words were so assuring. She chuckled softly.
“You’ve made so many promises to me, Wayne. It’s been just a week,” she teased and he smirked.
“A week? Feels more than that to me. That mission I embarked felt like a thousand years.”
Olive laughed and rested her head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and placed his chin on her damp hair.
“I’m sorry I hurt her. It was my wolf,” she apologized just out of courtesy sake. She felt no inch of remorse for clawing Gia.
“I said don’t apologize. I was so proud of my little kitten. You are possessive of me too,” he said with pride. Olive chuckled and looked at him.
“Yeah, I am. No one’s permitted to kiss you but me. Just me,” she drawled in the sexiest tone Wayne had ever heard. And the way her eyes were darting from his eyes to his lips, he was so turned on. He lowered his head until it almost touched hers. They looked at each other’s eyes before Wayne smoothly placed his lips on hers.
“Hmm,” Olive groaned quietly as she loved the sensation his lips on her gave.
“Mine. Just-mine,” he groaned in her mouth as their kisses turned into mouth plundering and body grabbing.

“Good morning,” she heard a husky, sexy, whisper by her ear as soon as she opened her eyes. She yawned and stretched then looked at Wayne whose head was on her shoulder and his eyes were closed. Her free hand moved into his hair and rubbed his scalp in an up and down motion. He groaned and grabbed her, pulling her body closer to his on the bed. He loved her fingers in his hair.
“Morning, Wayne,” she said and traced her hand to his cheek. He slowly opened his eyes.
“How was your sleep, princess?” he asked with half open lids. She smiled.
“Smoother than I thought it would be,” she answered and turned around to face him completely. He snuggled himself into her neck and inhaled her scent. He could hear her blood flowing through her veins and her heart beating rhythmically. Such a precious soul. He would do anything to keep waking up like this every morning of his life.
“Still sleepy?” she asked as her fingers trailed over his biceps. He was still shirtless from last night and she was still in the black t-shirt. They had kissed themselves to sleep. The kisses were so hot and ferocious at first. They had gone to the bed and continued to kiss. But after more than ten minutes, they resulted to a tight cuddle and gentle kisses on their bodies at certain intervals. The romance only stopped after Olive fell asleep in his arms.
“No. I just don’t want to leave this spot,” he answered into her neck. His voice against her skin was tingling. She laughed and sat up on the bed.
“Come on, we have to get back to the castle,” she stated and began to climb down the bed. Wayne laid on his back, placed his hands behind him with his palms under the back of his head and he looked up at her.
“You are so pretty when you wake up,” he mumbled in his morning, husky voice. Olive loved the sound of it. Naturally, men’s voices sounded deeper when they were just waking up. And Wayne’s voice was naturally very deep. So imagine his morning voice.
“You talk like you’ve seen a lot of ladies waking up,” she teased as she made her way to the bathroom.
“I have. But no one’s mesmerized me this much that I can’t get off the bed but just stare at her,” he said and she blushed. She turned around, gave him a loving look then entered the bathroom. Immediately she closed the door, Wayne took up his phone and texted Jake:
~Get the weapons ready. I’ll be visiting her soon.
His cheerful eyes earlier turned dark and dangerous again as he tapped ‘send’.
