Wayne shook his head at all of Olive’s inquiries.
“Women. Gosh, why do y’all have to be so nagging? I’m sure Dolly would bombard me with even more questions.”
“But-”
“These are my Alpha duties, Olive. There are lots of them. So don’t worry over any little thing I go out to do, okay?”
Olive heaved a sigh and nodded.
“Good girl,” he lifted his hand and rubbed her cheek with his index finger. She bit her lips and exhaled deeply.
“I have to go and dress up. I just wanted a hot bath earlier. See you downstairs at dinner,” she said and began to move out of the tub.
“Downstairs? Who said we’re having dinner downstairs?” She looked back at him.
“But I thought we would be having dinner with your family,” she mumbled.
“Get dressed and wait for me. Don’t go anywhere. Just sit on the bed till I come out. Because we’re having dinner outside the castle,” he ordered in his Alpha voice of authority. He closed his eyes and crossed his arms, taking a position of solitude.
“Yes, Alpha,” Olive muttered. She remembered Wayne didn’t like it when she called him Alpha, but she couldn’t help it this time. He sounded so Alpha-ish.
She had earlier folded a towel neatly beside the tub so she took it and looked back at Wayne whose eyes were still closed. She got on her feet and wrapped it around her body. Slowly, she walked out of there and entered the real bathroom. After she entered the bedroom could she breath out. Wayne had a way of keeping her on edge even when he hadn’t done anything.
Hurriedly, she got dressed in a long satin dress. It was an olive colored gown, with straps and a V neckline. It had an open cleavage because the V extended to her lower chest. The dress was fitted to her tummy, but from there down was flared.
She tied her hair in a very neat ponytail then wore emerald jeweled earrings. They were studs that just hugged her earlobe. She didn’t want to put on make-up, so she just rubbed a little lip gloss on her lips and sprayed perfume on her body. Her outfit matched her eyes and she loved the look of her. Would Wayne love it too?
She felt thirsty so she walked to the bar and pulled out water. She was grateful that Wayne reserved a space for water bottles in his sesame bar. As she finished drinking, she noticed that the door to the room was not properly closed.
Wayne had been hurrying inside to meet her earlier so he hadn’t taken time to close the door properly. Olive walked towards it gently and was going to close it when she caught glimpse of a shiny object on the floor. She opened the door wider and stepped out to see a small chain right in front of the door. She bent down and picked it up.
Looking at it, it was just an ordinary golden chain with no other designs on it. But she felt pulled to it. Like it was hers. She closed the door behind her while still standing in the hallway. Lifting the chain up to the small chandelier in the middle of the hallway, she watched it glisten and sparkle against the light. She chuckled softly and slowly wore it on her neck. Somehow, she felt she once had a chain like this when she was young. But she couldn’t remember anything.
Olive was washed of all her memories after she joined The Vrek Cult. It was so that she wouldn’t be able to trace her way back to her family.
She forgot her parents faces and only saw a blurred version of them. She forgot their names and occupation. She forgot the important events in her life. In fact, she only remembered her name, how she was kidnapped and the fact that she was happy with her parents. Though, she remembered her birthday. But that was all.
She didn’t realize that she had stood in the hallway for more then ten minutes until Wayne called her.
“Olive?” he called as he didn’t see her anymore. She blinked repeatedly as if coming out of a daze. She quickly removed the chain from her neck and opened the door.
“I’m sorry, I went…” she trailed off as her eyes made contact with the man standing in front of her vanity. He was looking at himself in the mirror and brushing his hair. Olive’s breath hitched in her throat. Wayne was…
“How do I look?” he asked as he turned around to look at her. Immediately he caught sight of her, his own breathing hitched too.
Everything else in the room disappeared and it was only
Olive standing under a spotlight in his eyes. She was sparkling beautiful. The most beautiful olive fruit he had ever set his eyes on. That dress… that dress was beyond perfect for her body. He loved the way it suited her. She was standing tall in it, her face graciously stood out as a result of her ponytail. She wasn’t even wearing any make-up yet he was already dazed by her.
“Goodness,” he rasped.
