Strength And Solitute

Seeing Taya let out a long sigh, Harper didn’t feel aggrieved but comforted her with a smile. “Don’t
worry. It’s just a little money. I’ll make it back at work.”
How could Taya not be worried about her? Taya knew how much money Harper had earned over the years.
Although she had become the manager recently and didn’t have to work bottle service anymore, she still had to stay up late to earn money.
Taya was afraid that Harper wouldn’t be able to take it, but Harper didn’t care about it at all.
“What you should be most concerned about now is the relationship between you, Jackson, and Griffon, not me.”
“I’ve broken up with both of them. Now, you’re the only one left by my side. I only care about you.”
“Don’t worry. I’m able to work, and I’m a strong wolf. If anything happens in the future, I can handle it.”
Harper was not afraid of abandonment, and she still trusted Damian now, so she was unwilling to dig too deep.
If one day she found out that Damian had let her down or had other intentions, she wouldn’t hesitate to leave him.
Harper might be soft-hearted, but she was tough. Once she was in a predicament, she was much more decisive than Taya.
Harper chatted with Taya for a while and then went to cook for her. After dinner, she was rushing to go to work.
Once Harper left, Taya’s gentle expression gradually faded away, and she didn’t force herself to try to appear to be better than she was.
Originally, Taya had intended to tell Harper about her condition, but once Damian called, that thought went out the window. It was more important to talk to Harper about that instead.
If she had told Harper that she didn’t have much time left, Harper might not be able to handle it on top of what was currently happening in her life.
Taya thought momentarily and decided to put it off for now. With Stella’s special medicine, she wouldn’t suddenly pa*s away, would she?
She still had time to tell Harper everything, right?
Harper hurried downstairs and saw several luxury cars parked outside.
Some of the windows were open, and pack guards in black were sitting inside. She recognized at a glance that they were Jackson’s men.
Harper thought that Jackson had left long ago. She admired his persistence.
She knocked on the car window, but there was no response. On the contrary, a Sterling pack guard got out of the car behind her.
“Miss, Alpha Sterling said that he wanted to be alone. Please don’t disturb him.”
Harper didn’t say anything. She turned around and left, but the window behind her rolled down.
“Harper.”
She turned to look at Jackson. It was clear that he was upset and trying to hide it. It wouldn’t do for an Alpha to show emotion like this in public.
Jackson had always been aloof and Stoic in front of others since childhood, even before he knew he was an Alpha. But he was gentle in front of Taya and didn’t hesitate to show his true emotions.
As a child, he showed hostility most of the time. More hostility than was expected for such a young pup.
His hostility became worse as he grew up, but when he met Taya, it completely disappeared.
Harper knew Taya had hurt Jackson badly, but she could do nothing about it. Jackson didn’t know whether to hate Taya or not.
He wanted to ask her why Taya had rejected him so harshly, but Harper didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t figure out why Taya spurned Jackson after the misunderstanding regarding the kick to the chest was resolved.
She thought that maybe it was because of Griffon.
Jackson invited Harper into the car. The two sat in the spacious luxury car and looked at each other.
In the end, Harper said, “You’ve changed a lot in the past few years.”
Although Harper had seen him twice before, she had never carefully looked him up and down.
He was no longer as immature as he had been. He had become nobler and more elegant.
Harper used to think he was God’s favored one, but she didn’t expect it to be true.
Jackson was the most powerful man in Wolverly Capital. What else could he be if he was not God’s favored one?
Jackson chatted casually with Harper for a while. When they talked about Taya, his face slowly darkened.
“Taya and Griffon weren’t actually a couple. It was just a contract between them. But it’s true that she fell in love with him. If it weren’t for him, she might not have recovered from what happened after she was kicked in the chest, and after she was turned away from Wolverly Capital.”
Harper didn’t hide it from Jackson and told him the truth. There was no point in hiding anything.
Plus, everything had changed because of him. Taya had fallen in love with Griffon because she wanted to forget him.
Jackson couldn’t describe how he was feeling currently, but the hole in his heart was getting bigger, as if it was devouring him little by little.
“If you miss her once, you’ll miss her for the rest of your life. Let her go early…
After saying that, Harper pushed the door open and got out of the car.
Jackson fell back into the car seat and closed his eyes, trying to settle his wolf down.
The pack guard received a call from Wolverly Capital and hurried forward to knock on the window.
“Alpha Sterling, your father is calling.”
Jackson indifferently took the phone from the bodyguard.
Old Alpha Sterling’s aged and weak voice came from the other end of the line. “Jackson, it’s time to return to Wolverly Capital.”
Jackson didn’t reply. He just looked out of the car at Taya’s house.
It was because of the Sterling pack, his family, that he had lost Taya.
Back then, Jackson blamed Taya for selling herself and had a big fight with her, which made Taya so angry that she ran away. Then, the Sterling pack found him.
Jackson’s brother didn’t come at that time. It was another pack mate who came. Jackson wasn’t willing to go with him, so he tied Jackson up and brought him back.
His only option was to jump out of the car. And even after all that, nothing changed. He was still taken away.
And then he lost his.
Jackson’s brother told him that they were twins. When they were born, there were some changes in the family.
To compete for the Alpha position of the Sterling.
