After waiting for a long time, even the next class had already started, but Aurelia still didn’t get a reply from him.
Meanwhile, a luxury car sped towards ZL Group. The man in the back seat repeatedly looked at the text message with a smile in his eyes.
Jim, who was sitting in the passenger seat, began to report his work to Callum. “Mr. Finnegan, you’ll be on a business trip for a few days tomorrow. There was an accident at the factory there, and it remains unsolved.”
At night, Aurelia lay in bed, listening to the sound outside the window. It was already past twelve o’clock and she still didn’t hear any car sounds.
Was Callum angry? Was he really not coming back?
Was she going too far? This was also his home, but she ordered him not to come back.
She was going crazy.
Pulling out her phone, she texted again, “Callum.”
This time, he quickly replied with one word, “Yeah?”
Seeing this, she suddenly didn’t know what to say. After hesitating for a while, she texted, “Where are you?”
“Company.” He had just arrived at the branch in Singapore and was preparing to deal with things.
Aurelia misunderstood and thought he was in Evercrest’s company and didn’t plan to come back because of her text message. “Well, today… It was not my fault. It was you who ignored me first! Are you mad? Why don’t you come back now? If you don’t want to see me, I won’t show up in front of you.”
Because of her nervousness, she was speaking illogically. She wanted to apologize, but the meaning came out wrong..
Callum looked at the message and knew without thinking how troubled she was. He couldn’t help laughing. How could she be so cute?
However, he couldn’t go back now, so he only replied to her with a few words. “Go to bed early.”
Aurelia covered her head with the blanket in frustration. How could he be so petty? She had sent him a message on her own initiative, but he still refused to come back.
Before she fell asleep, Aurelia’s imagination was still running wild. It didn’t matter if Callum came home, she had already apologized to him.
Aurelia had been uneasy because she hadn’t seen Callum for two days. Callum’s class at school was also postponed, and the specific start time was still up in the air.
After knowing that Callum was on a business trip from Alfred, Aurelia asked about the exact time Callum left and gnashed her teeth at him again.
When she texted him that night, he had already been off, but he didn’t tell her about that.
She had blamed herself for two days. What a bastard!
Aurelia had planned to go shopping with Cathy and Liana, but she didn’t go in the end because I had something else to do.
Aurelia didn’t go to EliteMart until today. Thinking of what Callum had done, she splurged on clothes and cosmetics without any hesitation.
After absentmindedly paying for the bills, Cathy asked Aurelia curiously, “You’ve been acting a little strange lately. You’ve been putting on makeup and buying clothes and cosmetics. The style of your clothes is different from before. Aurelia, are you really in love?”
Aurelia looked at the stuff she just bought, shaking her head before answering, “I’m not in love!”
“Alright, since everyone is free tonight. Why don’t we get together to have some fun? Tomorrow is Saturday. No classes need to be taken.”
After they agreed to meet in Aurelia’s home, Aurelia and the other two left the counter and prepared to go to the supermarket to buy some food and drinks for the evening.
When she reached the elevator, Aurelia saw a man and a woman on the LED screen where the advertisement was played.
Aidan, dressed in an off-white dress, held the arm of the man next to her in a dark blue suit and smiled sweetly at the camera.
The host’s voice fell into Aurelia’s ears. “Mr. Finnegan and Miss Monroe are a perfect match!”
Aidan didn’t say anything after hearing this, and Callum just smiled at the host. His silence spoke volumes.
Cathy shook Aurelia’s arm as she pointed at the screen excitedly. “Isn’t that Mr. Finnegan? The woman next to him… Why is it Aidan again? Could it be that they are really going to get married soon?”
Lianaranted, “Mr. Finnegan is out of Aidan’s league! Mr. Finnegan is not only handsome, but also talented. What a lucky dog!”
Aurelia fell silent.
Her good mood was dampened by this scene. She gritted her teeth and glared at Callum on the screen. She despised him in her heart. A married man was fooling around with another woman. Ugh! What a scumbag!
Cathy accidentally saw Aurelia roll her eyes and said helplessly, “Aurelia, don’t hate Mr. Finnegan so much! Although you two don’t get along with each other, at least Mr. Finnegan and your paths crossed. Unlike us, we don’t even have a chance to chat with Mr. Finnegan!”
Briar, Larry, Liana, Cathy came to the Finnegan family’s villa tonight.
They had been here several times before Callum moved back.
Aurelia asked Mary to go back first. After that, they ate and sang at home, having a great time.
It was past ten in the evening. The five of them drank dozens of cans of beer and the living room was a mess. Aurelia and Cathy were singing, while Liana and Larry were sitting on the sofa and whispering to each other. Seeing this, Briar, a single man, kicked Larry in the leg and said, “Don’t show your affection in public!”
Larry kicked him back and yelled, “I’ve been single for over 20 years and finally have a girlfriend. Leave us alone!”
Briar rolled his eyes in jealousy.
Liana laughed happily at the scene.
The five people were so drunk that they couldn’t stand steadily. Just when Aurelia didn’t sit properly and fell into Briar’s arms. Suddenly, the door of the villa was pushed open without warning.
The way Aurelia and Briar were playing around seemed like flirting to the man.
Callum suddenly came into everyone’s sight. The other four people all jumped up from the sofa. Only Aurelia sat on the sofa and touched her hair. After a moment of astonishment, Aurelia muttered, “How could it be Callum?” She had already asked around. It was said he would be back in two days from his business trip.
She had drunk too much.
The man at the door was wearing a black suit and a vest of the same color, with his suit jacket draped over his arm. He glanced coldly at the messy living room.
Jim behind him looked at Aurelia, who stood up from the sofa, in astonishment. Callum rushed back home as soon as he was done with his work. However, the first thing he saw was this scene.
