Ying Xiaoxiao ran over to hug her. “Yayoi, what exactly happened? Why is Rosiley in the operating theatre?”
“Right, Morphy, what happened?” Corey Lu asked anxiously.
He was having a meeting when Morphy called, informing him that his sister-in-law had been sent to the hospital. Worried, he immediately canceled the meeting and rushed over, even running a few red lights along the way.
“Xiaoxiao, Rorey was the one who harmed Rosiley, sending her into the hospital.”
Yayoi’s face sank at the thought of how Rorey treated Rosiley. “She kicked Rosiley’s belly. The doctor said that there is internal bleeding and an operation must be done immediately.”
“Rorey!” Ying Xiaoxiao gritted his teeth, fury brewing in her eyes.
“Damn it, I shouldn’t have listened to my sister-in-law and should have gotten rid of Rorey at the start. Then, such a matter wouldn’t have happened.” Corey punched the wall in regret.
His big brother and he respected the decision of his sister-in-law. However, they had forgotten the devious nature of Rorey, forgotten about how she would definitely blame his sister-in-law for her own miscarriage.
In the end, they had been too careless.
“Where is our big brother?” Morphy asked.
Corey turned around to look at him. “He was having a meeting in another city. He should be rushing back now.”
Corey frowned, “Morphy, why do you look so sick?”
His face was pale, as if he was enduring great pain.
Yayoi heard the question and she remembered what she had seen in the office. Her heart trembled as she answered on behalf of Morphy, “He was hit by a paperweight.”
“Paperweight?”
Corey frowned even more as he asked curiously, “Was it the paperweight that our grandfather gave him?”
Morphy replied in acknowledgment, “It was a light impact, I’m fine.”
That was a heavy paperweight made of jade. How can he possibly have been fine with its impact?
Corey didn’t trust him and came forth to lift up his white shirt.
“Flip!”
Yayoi and Ying Xiaoxiao took a deep breath. They saw that Morphy had a big black bruise on his pale back, the blood vessels vaguely emerging.
It seemed terrifying, unlike what he had promised.
“Yayoi, take him to see a doctor.” Corey was afraid that it wasn’t merely a bruise.
Yayoi was stunned before standing up immediately. “Yes, I’ll take him over now.”
As she spoke, she came forth to help Morphy. Their gazes met before she turned her head away in embarrassment, and then they walked towards the A&E department.
“Yayoi.”
Yayoi stopped and turned around. She could only hear Ying Xiaoxiao ask with a low voice, “Rorey was the one who did this too?”
“Yes, she was about to smash that on Rosiley, but Mr. Shen protected her.”
Ying Xiaoxiao clenched her hands, a cold glimmer shining in her eyes. “I will not let Rorey off so easily.”
She had been enduring the b*tch Rorey for a long time. She had committed sins again and again. This time, she would not let her off so easily, and she would make her pay double for what Rosiley had suffered.
“She was sent to the police station.” Morphy smiled thoughtfully. “Miss Ying, you should know what to do.”
Ying Xiaoxiao curved her lips into a smirk. “Of course.”
“I shall wait for the good news then.”
Morphy turned to stare at her for a while before turning to Yayoi and saying, “Let’s go.”
Yayoi looked at Xiaoxiao as well before helping him advance.
With the influence of the Shen family in the military and in politics, as well as Xiaoxiao’s influence in politics, Rorey was merely an ant to them.
“Don’t you also agree with my sister-in-law in that we should deal with Rorey slowly? Why did you suddenly have a change of heart?”
Corey looked at Ying Xiaoxiao with a curved smile.
Ying Xiaoxiao glanced at him with cold, unfeeling eyes. “Times have changed now.”
Corey smiled as well, a cold and murderous undertone hidden in his black pupils.
“Count me in as well.”
