Dreg’s heart pounded in his chest as he entered Rachel’s office. He had felt a cold aura surrounding him, a sense of unease that had compelled him to rush back to the office. And now, as he stepped inside, his worst fears were confirmed.
There stood Zech, carrying Rachel in his arms.
Dreg’s anger surged through him, a wildfire threatening to consume him. He didnt want Zech’s hand on her it made it so mad with rage.
He wanted nothing more than to lash out at Zech, to punish him for causing Rachel pain.
He could sense his disgusting wolf. That smell that irks his nose it filled the air, one that he hated to the core.
But he knew that Rachel needed him now more than ever, and he had to put his anger aside for her sake.
He would have really dealt with Zech if it wasnt for the sake that he knew Rachel in some way, he didnt want her to see him as a beast.
Without another word, Dreg approached Zech and forcefully took Rachel from his arms and turned away from him.
Zech’s anger was palpable, his eyes burning with fury, but he understood that Rachel’s well-being was the priority, he could sense dreg had a different scent but he didn’t know what kind of creature he was, every supernatural always had a scent, dreg’s scent was very thick, mysterious and strong he could feel his aura trying to suppress him.
He stepped back, giving Dreg the space he needed to take care of her. He stooped and turned to Bella “what happened” he asked in a cold voice.
“I don’t know, we were walking on a project and she just collapsed,” Bella replied with a worried face. “Hmm” he said and He walked away heading towards his car.
Bella, who had been witnessing the scene unfold, stared at Dreg with worry etched on her face.
She had always been protective of Rachel, and seeing her in such a vulnerable state heightened her concern.
She couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease towards Dreg, unsure of his intentions, but she knew right now Rachel’s health mattered first.
But she couldn’t seem to be at ease with Rachel in his hands but there was nothing she could do
On getting to his car, Dreg gently laid Rachel in the backseat of the car, ensuring she was as comfortable as possible.
He climbed into the front seat, his mind racing with worry and fear. Lucas, his trusted friend and ally, wasted no time as he sped off towards the hospital.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly as they raced through the lively streets of Las vegas. Dreg’s thoughts were consumed with what could be wrong with Rachel.
Had she been attacked? Was she gravely injured? The possibilities terrified him, and he clenched his fists, desperately praying that it wasn’t something serious, he didn’t want to lose his mate only after just meeting her.
Finally, they arrived at the hospital, and Dreg wasted no time in carrying Rachel inside.
The doctor rushed to examine her, taking her into the emergency room, while Dreg paced anxiously in the waiting room. Every second felt like an eternity, his heart heavy with worry.
After what felt like hours, the doctor emerged, a solemn expression on his face.
Dreg’s heart skipped a beat as he approached him, bracing himself for the worst news.
But to his immense relief, the doctor’s words were not as dire as he had feared.
“She’s just exhausted,” the doctor explained. “Her lycan strength has been keeping her going, but she’s reached her limit. She needs rest and time to regain her energy.”
The doctor was his private doctor who knew a lot about thief kind so he was able to determine what was ring with Rachel
Dreg let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding. Exhaustion was something they could handle.
It meant that Rachel would recover with time and care. It wasn’t a life-threatening situation, and for that, he was grateful. “Thank you so much doctor” he said
He thanked the doctor again profusely and made his way back to Rachel’s side. She lay in the hospital bed, her features peaceful in sleep.
Dreg’s heart ached at the sight, his worry and anger dissolving into a deep sense of protectiveness.
Taking a seat beside her, Dreg gently took her hand in his. He vowed to himself at that moment that he would do whatever it took to keep her safe, to ensure that she never had to face such exhaustion and pain again.
He would be there for her, through thick and thin, no matter what.
As the hours passed, Dreg remained by Rachel’s side, watching over her as she slept.
He couldn’t help but feel a sense of guilt creeping in. He should have let that wolf guy near her, he was going to kill that guy sooner or later, his plan was still in progress.
He called out to Lucas who was stand in outside the door, he came in standing just a few meters from the door, “I want you to watch the wolf guy that is always around her, make sure my mate is safe at all times.
“Yes boss” he said and left the room.
As the night wore on, Dreg’s exhaustion caught up with him, and he found himself drifting off to sleep beside Rachel’s bed.
In that moment, he felt a glimmer of hope. Despite the challenges he had faced, he knew that his love was strong enough to overcome anything.
And as he closed his eyes, he whispered a promise to Rachel, a promise to always be there for her, to protect her, and to love her unconditionally.
Back at the office, Zech sat in Rachel’s office with an uneasy mind. He felt useless and suffocated, he couldn’t do anything for her, he knew dreg would take care of her.
but he didn’t Like the fact that another man was beside her, it hurt him.
Soon his phone rang and he answered it, Vincent’s voice echoed from the other side of the phone “I have found her”.
