Three months and ten days later, in the morning around 08:00 AM,
“Alexa. I am going to miss you.” A woman with short, black hair hugged her friend’s tall, slim body. The name’s owner felt sad, and tears flowed, but she could not do anything because they already had new parents.
“I miss you and Line too. If you have time, do not forget to send me a letter. I am super happy to receive it.” The young girl said in a hoarse voice because she was sad remembering that she would soon be separated from her two female friends who always defended her, including when she was teased by other children who lived in the orphanage.
Another girl was also crying, but she could not hug the messenger of Goddess Magia yet because her twin sister was still hugging Alexa tightly, as if reluctant to separate. Meanwhile, other orphanage children also watched what Alexa and Aileen were doing. However, they were standing about twenty meters away, as if they had been arranged not to get too close. Only Aiden and Samuel were standing near the three young teenage girls.
The two young guys did not comment and were just good listeners. There were two objects had been neatly wrapped in Aiden’s hand. The gray-eyed teenage boy and his roommate did not say anything and just watched what Aexa, Aileen, and Adaline were doing.
“Why don’t you want to be adopted too? We can stay together. As long as you agree, Mom and Dad will take care of everything to adopt you, and you can stay with us.” The twelve-year-old girl was still unwilling to be away from Alexa, so the person she was talking to became increasingly sad.
“It is okay, Ai. If you and Adaline want to invite me, Samuel, and Aiden in the future, you can do that.” The first daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira, did not know what to say at the moment. Alexa did not feel comfortable if she had to bother Aileen and Adaline’s parents by making her an adopted child, too.
Adaline approached Aileen and Alexa and spontaneously acted like her twin sister. A young lady who had a mole on her right cheek could no longer bear to admit something, especially since she and Aileen would soon leave the orphanage. “Alexa, I am sorry because I have been mean to you all this time.”
The teenage girl with chestnut brown hair was suddenly surprised because she had not expected to receive such a confession from her friend, who had accompanied her for more than three months. “Why do you even say that, Line? Have you ever done anything bad to me? You have always been kind and protected me.”
Adaline’s heart ached even more when she heard Alexa’s story because the person she was talking to didn’t have the slightest grudge against her, even though she often said terrible things to the Chosen One. Samuel and Aiden silently watched their three female friends, who would soon be separated. Madame Aufrodine and Loiston were standing near the horse-drawn carriage with a husband and wife, and none of the three adults had stopped the actions of the three young girls.
“I do not want to know; you have to want to be adopted like us. You have to live with me and Aileen. Do not ever reject our request.” Adaline was increasingly reluctant to part with the hazel-eyed girl, especially since Alexa did not even ask what she had done wrong, so the girl became increasingly annoyed with herself because she had wasted such a good friend all this time.
“We will definitely be together again. Whatever happens, never forget me.” Alexa said softly to her two female friends, but her voice sounded hoarse. All of this was due to deep sadness and suppressed crying.
“We promise always to remember you.” Aileen and Adaline answered at the same time, and they hugged each other tighter.
“Thank you, Ai and Line. I am happy to be your friend, even though it is only been a few months. Hopefully, later, we can play together.” The young girl with a sharp nose seemed to have run out of words, so she could only say that to the two twin girls.
Aileen and Adaline did not answer because they were still crying. Auslag Gavtheniath turned to her husband. “Honey, do you think we should go now or wait a few more minutes?”
The tall man turned to his beloved wife. “We can stay here for a while. Our girls really love Alexa. It is a pity that the girl did not want to be adopted, too, because she was already close to Aileen and Adaline.”
Madame Aufrodine and Loiston did hear the husband and wife’s conversation. Still, they could not comment because they knew Alexa’s true identity but chose to remain silent. The two central administrators deliberately left Aileen and Adaline’s biological parents unaware of the messenger of Goddess Magia for the safety of everyone at the Ztatzav Orphanage.
After a few minutes passed, the two twin girls let go of their embrace. The eyes of the three teenage girls looked puffy. Aileen wiped her tears with the back of her hand, and when she was finished, she gave a package to the adolescent girl whom the Queen of Witches always guarded. “Please take it. This is a gift from the two of us.”
“You did not need to come to this.” Alexa tried to refuse, but Aileen and Adaline still forced the person they were talking to to accept what they had given.
“No, Alexa. We gave it to you on purpose, so you can’t refuse.” Aileen remained firm in her stance, and Adaline nodded as if supporting her twin sister’s statement.
“Thank you, Ai and Line. I can only give this to you.” A young girl, who had a height of one hundred and seventy centimeters tall, turned to Aiden, and the handsome guy looked back at the opposite sex.
“Aiden, please give me the package you are holding,” Alexa asked in a hoarse voice, but this did not matter to the young man. The skinny guy walked over to the person he was talking to. Samuel also participated in similar actions because he did not want to be left alone.
When he arrived near Alexa, the young man gave the two packages to his female friend. Alexa smiled faintly; more precisely, she forced herself to smile. “Thank you, Aiden.”
“You are welcome.” Aiden only answered briefly and preferred to pay attention to what his three friends were doing.
“This is for you, Ai. Please accept it, Line.” Alexa gave the first package to Aileen and the last to Adaline. The two of them received the girl’s gift with great emotion. They did not expect their friends to prepare gifts for both of them.
“I have nothing else, but I deliberately made something for you. Please keep and use it. Wherever you are, you are my best friend.” Alexa tried to remain strong when she said all that, even though her eyes filled with tears again because she could not hold back the deep sadness. As soon as possible, Aileen and Adaline hugged the person they were talking to, which happened spontaneously.
“We will always remember you forever, Alexa. Do not forget us.”
