At 05:30 PM,
“Okay, Madame. Can we meet our twins now, or do we have to wait?” The man with a baritone voice asked politely. His tone of voice sounded hopeful known by the person he was talking to. Meanwhile, the woman sitting next to the man had not said anything, and her eyes were teary because she was holding back tears.
The black-haired woman had not answered yet because she was considering whether it was necessary to call Aileen and Adaline here.
This husband and wife came from a faraway place, so if I asked them to come tomorrow or three days later, would that be good? Aileen and Adaline were Alexa’s friends, so if they were both summoned, it would be best for the Chosen One to stay in the room so that there would not be a scene, thought Lenny, who was trying to prevent the whereabouts of the messenger of Goddess Magia from being known by other people.
“You can meet them, but it may take a while because usually the children in the orphanage take a bath in the afternoon or study, and quite a few are doing assignments from the teacher. Are Mr and Mrs Gavtheniath willing to wait a little longer because my deputy has to pick them up?” Madame Aufrodine answered politely, asking the two guests if they wanted to wait for Aileen and Adaline and explaining why.
Without hesitation, the husband and wife nodded. “We are willing to wait a little longer, Madame. We want to see our daughter’s face.”
“Okay. Thank you for the confirmation, sir. Please wait a moment.” A woman, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-two centimeters tall, stood up and walked past the two guests. Vigor and Auslag just watched for a moment and then looked at each other.
“When our two daughters come, please be brave in your heart. Do not cry, and keep smiling. When all the procedures have been completed, including the verification process, you and I will immediately take them back to our house.” The thirty-three-year-old man said softly while holding his beloved wife’s finger. Meanwhile, Madame Aufodine had reached the door and opened it.
A woman with a stern face started walking out of the room because she wanted to look for her deputy so she could call the twins who had been living at the Ztatzav Orphanage for twelve years and were also good friends of Alexa Jocelyn Heart.
“Yes, darling. Will… will they forgive us? I am afraid of being rejected by our twin daughters.” Auslag’s voice turned a little hoarse, trying to hold back tears. That red-haired woman felt very guilty, especially about the incident twelve years ago, which caused them to have to separate from their biological daughter.
“I do not know, Honey. But, when they grow up, I am sure they will understand our reason. We also do things like that because we have to and not of our own accord.” Vigor did not want to lie, but he tried to convey what was on his mind in language that was easy for the person he was talking to to understand.
“I want to hug them. If only twelve years ago…” The green-eyed woman stopped talking because tears had flowed down both cheeks. Vigor wiped the tears carefully and felt the same way but could not do much.
“It is okay, Honey. It is not too late to fix everything, even though they are now two teenage girls. We will educate them to become upper-class women and be able to enter the noble circle. You do not have to worry. Madame Aufrodine explains the adoption procedure is long, but that does not mean it is impossible to get through. We have to be patient.” The elegant man comforted his beautiful wife again so she would no longer be sad.
“I will try it.” A woman, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-five centimeters tall, was trying to be strong, even though fear and sadness still dominated inside her.
“Good. When you meet our twin daughters, keep acting normal. Before holding or hugging them, we must ask Madame Aufrodine’s permission first. Do not make them scared.” Vigor gives a message to the opposite sex and uses a soft tone so that the other person is not offended.
“Yes, darling. I promise.”
A few minutes later, the principal returned to his office. The husband and wife were still there and had not moved from there. The blue-eyed woman only watched them from behind and had yet to greet the two guests who had come without the host’s invitation.
They really wanted to meet Aileen and Adaline. I guess I want to see how Vigor and Auslag react when they meet Aileen and Adaline. I heard an old sentence that says that if parents and biological children are separated, then when they meet, there will definitely be an inner bond that arises spontaneously. I have never been married before, so I do not know the truth of that sentence, thought Madame Aufrodine, who had returned to her seat.
A woman who had worked at the Ztatzav Orphanage for a long time looked at Vigor and Auslag’s faces. “I have informed my deputy, Madame Loiston, and she will bring the twin girls here. Would you like Sir and Madam to join us for dinner? The meal is not luxurious, but it is within the nutritional standards set by the palace.”
Vigor and Auslag spontaneously looked at each other when they heard this offer. They seemed to want to refuse, but hunger began to appear. Hence, the husband and wife began to experience a dilemma. Meanwhile, Madame Aufrodine could only wait for answers from the two unexpected guests. She was about to have dinner, so The Principal couldn’t eat alone while the two people still sitting in front of her were starving.
“Shall we eat here, Madame? I apologize if my question seems impolite.” A man with dark brown eyes felt reluctant to ask. However, he still had to carry out this while his wife remained silent and allowed Vigor to continue chatting with Madame Aufrodine.
“Someone can deliver to my workroom, or if you wish, sir and madam, we can go to the dining room. Usually, the children at the orphanage and the employees who work here use that place for eating.” Madame Aufrodine answered, making Vigor and Auslag think about choosing where they would have dinner but not to bother the host.
“Thank you, Madame. We just had dinner here and waited for our twins to arrive.” Vigor had already decided, so his wife just followed him. The principal could only nod because he respected the guest.
“Okay. But before that, please, sir and madam, wait patiently.” The thirty-eight-year-old woman told her two guests, so they nodded as a sign of understanding and willingness to accept the situation.
“It is okay, Madame. We understand. We apologize because we came here without any notice.” Vigor still felt guilty because he had taken up the other person’s time, so he sincerely expressed his regret.
“I-”
Before Madame Aufrodine had time to finish her words, suddenly, there was a knocking sound, so the three adults’ attention was diverted there. “Who is that?” asked the blue-eyed woman, wasting no time.
“Madame, I am here with them,” answered Madame Loiston, who had indeed come with two twelve-year-old teenage girls.
“Come in!”
Auslag’s heart beat faster, knowing who was about to enter the room. Vigor also felt the same way about his spouse. The door was opened from the outside, and three people entered there. Madame Aufrodine spontaneously stood up, followed by two guests who suddenly arrived. Meanwhile, Aileen and Adaline felt afraid because this was the first time the principal had called them.
Aileen and Adaline looked at the unfamiliar faces of a man and woman, and there was Madame Aufrodine. The two teenage girls were confused because they did not know what to say, but they felt something strange when they looked at the red-haired woman who was near the principal. “Mr. and Mrs. Gavtheniath, these are the twins in our orphanage.”
Vigor and Auslag held back their emotion, so they were speechless. However, both of them refrained from touching Aileen and Adaline unless Madamae Aufodine gave permission first.
“Excuse me, Madame. May we know why we were called here?”
“You were asked to come here because soon you will be adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Gavtheniath.”
As soon as possible, Aileen and Adaline widened their eyes because they did not expect to get this news. “What?”
