Chapter 85. Drawing

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

In the principal’s workroom at the Ztatzav Orphanage,
“In your opinion, should we release those five damn teenagers from detention?” A black-haired woman asked her colleague who had been sitting in front of her. Loiston had not answered because she was reluctant to think about such things.
“I thought I would just keep them there a little longer.” A woman with a sharp nose no longer wanted to meet Odessa and her group because they always caused problems, mainly because they liked to bully Alexa.
“So, should we take them out of the detention room all at once or one by one? We can’t possibly let them stay there because then it will be a big question if there is a sudden inspection from the palace.” Lenny rejected the proposal because it could have a harmful impact on them.
A woman with thick eyebrows was silent as if she was thinking about what kind of idea would be suitable for Odessa, Frazto, Drutz, Shul, and Drena. The atmosphere in the room became quiet because the conversation between the principal and her deputy had stopped because the woman, whose full name was Ioxinete Loiston, had not yet given her suggestion to Madame Aufrodine, even though she was still faithfully waiting for this.
An idea emerged in Loiston’s mind, so he smiled. However, this action made her colleague confused, so he frowned. “What was wrong with you, Apple? Is something funny?” Lenny asked, surprised.
“I just got a great idea! How about you do not take them out all at once? They are actually scared children, but because they are in groups, they become strong and bully the weaker children,” answered Loiston without hesitation. She was so enthusiastic when explaining that the tall, slim woman could only listen and did not want to interrupt his words.
“I like your idea, but what should I do if they protest my decision?” Aufrodine tried to anticipate this problem so that it did not cause problems in the future.
“Easy. You can say to those five naughty kids, ‘Whatever has become my decision cannot be contested. If you behave well or do not like making noise by shouting, then your good behavior can be our consideration for expelling you.’ If they still do not accept it, then just ignore it.” Loiston commented again because she did not know what to say, especially to the person he was talking to.
“I will try to consider all your suggestions. So, who shall we expel first? I prefer Drena or Drutz because they are quiet but join Odessa’s group of troublemakers instead.” A woman, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-two centimeters tall again asked questions, but she had already given two names that seemed suitable to be the first candidates to come out of the detention room.
“I prefer Drena to Drutz.” Loiston did not want the young man to be taken out of the detention room, so Aufrodine was confused and asked her best friend for an explanation.
“What was wrong with Drutz? If I am not mistaken, he is not an annoying boy. He does not have a loud personality but tends to be quiet and likes to observe the situation around him. Even if he is one of the bullying, he is more quiet. alone, and only Odessa is excited.” A woman with thin eyebrows did not want to accept Loiston’s suggestion without a reasonable explanation.
“That is exactly it, Lenny! Drutz is a quiet boy and likes to observe situations, right? If that was true, then he could have observed what Alexa and her friends were doing so that when Odessa came out of the detention room with her friends, they even planned even worse acts of bullying.” Loiston expressed her opinion, which sounded reasonable to Aufrodine, even though she could not fully accept it.
“Why did you choose Drena instead? You did not mention it to me.” A woman named Laveyny Aufrodine reminded the other person because she wanted to know what Loiston thought about Drena, who was the same age as Odessa.
“To be honest, Drena is a scared girl. She joined the Odessa group so other people would not bully her.” The green-eyed woman tells her close friend why she prefers that young girl over Drutz. Aufrodine did not respond as if she was considering all of Loiston’s suggestions. Lenny was silent for a long time because she did not want to make the wrong choice.
“Drena is a scared girl. Hmm. It is interesting. I thought she was brave enough, so she joined the Odessa gang. Everyone knows that Odessa is a woman who likes to do as she pleases and likes to find trouble with children in sight weaker, including Alexa.” Aufrodine muttered that without realizing it, which made Loiston frown.
“Lenny, Alexa is not a weak girl. She is the Chosen One, and I am sure that as time goes by, her power will increase even more, especially since the Queen of Witches always accompanies and protects her. I do not know how and when the right time comes for Alexa to leave this orphanage, but it would be hard for us.” A woman, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-one centimeters, warned Aufrodine, which made The Principle again amazed by her colleague.
“I do not know about that, Apple. Maybe you are right. I do not want to speculate anything about that. Let Goddess Magia take care of Alexa as she once told us, and when Alexa leaves here, I hope everything is going to be okay.” A woman with thin eyebrows wanted to end the topic of conversation about the Chosen One because it felt scary for her.
Before Loiston said anything, Aufrodine had already said to her, “Well. I actually wanted Drutz to be expelled first, but you wanted Drena instead. How about we draw lots so it’s fair?”
The thirty-nine-year-old woman nodded as soon as possible because she thought there was no harm in trying for the common good. “Okay. I agree. How do you want to draw it, Lenny?”
“How about we use coins? There are two image choices, and you just have to choose one. How is it?” The intelligent woman was relieved because the strategy used was successful, so the person she was talking to forgot about the daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira.
“Okay. I agree with your suggestion. Where is the coin?” A woman who could hear the magical voice had forgotten entirely about Alexa. She instead asked his colleague to take out coins that would be used as a lottery tool. Aufrodine smiled, then she gestured by raising her right hand towards Loiston’s face so she could see the palm.
“Wait a minute. I want to look for it in the desk drawer first.” After she finished saying that, the principal started to get busy looking for the whereabouts of the coin. Meanwhile, Loiston just observed the behavior of the person she was talking to without wanting to disturb him.
I would not have thought that we would have to change strategy. Yes, after the emperor’s envoys didn’t come here, so we were all safe, then we just had to take care of Odessa and her friends. I always kept an eye on Alexa and got the news that the bullying experienced by the Chosen One had dropped drastically. However, if her rival returned, the opposite could happen, thought Loiston, who still had not let go of Aufrodine’s supervision.
“I got it!” Lenny chirped so that Loiston smiled as if she felt the same way as this famous, fierce woman. Aufrodine showed the object to the person he was talking to with a bright expression.
“Here are two pictures: the emperor’s face or the writing. Which one do you want to choose?” Aufrodne deliberately asked Loiston many questions so the red-haired woman remained focused on what she wanted.
“I want to choose the face of the emperor.” A woman who was sensitive to mystical things answered firmly because she was one hundred percent sure that the results that came out were indeed that.
“Alright. Then I decided to just choose writing.” The woman who did not get married because she wanted to dedicate her time to the orphanage also knew what she wanted, but Loiston’s expression looked strange.
“Wait! May I change my mind?” An adult woman, who had a height of one hundred and seventy-one centimeters tall, seemed to realize something, so Aufrodine frowned.
“No! You have already chosen, so you can’t exchange it again. Now we have to draw from coins, so the sooner it is drawn, the sooner the results will be known.” Aufrodine politely refused, causing Lenny to frown, but her deputy’s actions did not deter the thirty-eight-year-old woman.
“But I want to replace it with writing, Lenny!” Loiston never gave up until she got what she loved. Aufrodine kept shaking her head because the principal wanted to throw the coin he had struggled to find in the drawer as soon as possible.
“Do not be like that, Apple. You always change your mind at the last minute. If I follow you later, you will definitely do the same thing four times.” Aufrodine had anticipated her colleague’s instability, but Loiston still shook her head as if she was trying to convince his interlocutor that what she was worried about had never happened.
“No, Lenny. I promise I will only change my mind once. I swear.” The green-eyed woman placed her right hand on her chest, and her left palm faced up. Aufrodine really understands what these gestures were and what they meant.
“Okay. Just this once. What would you choose?”
“Hmm… I prefer-”
