Chapter 81. Under Control

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

Inside a temple located in a hidden place outside the Zlatav area,
A silver-haired man was seen alone in a room with many books. The situation in the area was very quiet because it was just him and the man reading a book whose cover looked worn but was still well-maintained.
In the midst of the silence that fell in that place, the man actually remembered his action when he looked out the window in the girls’ dormitory at the Ztatzav Orphanage. At that moment, the daughter of the couple Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira looked back at him, but the High Priest could not see her clearly because the situation was not possible, namely the conditions around there were still dark.
“I can’t wait to see the face of the Chosen One. I do not understand why the daughter of the mortal race, Zlatav, was chosen, but I am sure that it was not a coincidence. I believe in Goddess Magia’s decision wholeheartedly.” Brazam muttered while looking at the book he had been holding.
Brazam continued his reading. The man, who was over a hundred years old, read the book with a serious expression, as if what had been written there was very important. He had not been reading for five minutes when he heard a faint mystical voice, which he ignored.
“My loyal servant. Have you forgotten me?” The same mystical voice was heard again, so the man was very surprised. Brazam originally sitting on a chair, immediately got up and prostrated himself with his face touching the ground.
“Please have mercy on me. I did not realize that the Goddess came here.” Brazam was scared, and his voice was shaking because he never thought that now the Queen of Witchcraft would actually come, and of course, this situation was very surprising for him. Goddess Magia was silent, and her face looked expressionless, so it was difficult to know what was in that immortal goddess’s heart.
The atmosphere in the room began to feel cold, but Brazam did not feel that way because he was afraid of the goddess’ wrath, which could be very scary. “Have you conveyed my message to my people?” An immortal goddess with two large black dogs began to speak seriously after being silent for a long time.
“Yes, Goddess. I have conveyed all your messages to them.” Brazam admitted this to his interlocutor.
“Good.” That’s all the Goddess of Witchcraft said. Goddess Magia became silent again, observing the movements of the person she was talking to, even though the man was one of her loyal servants and was still in a state of prostration.
“Brazam.” Goddess Magia called the name of the High Priest so that the name’s owner could not do anything except for one thing.
“Yes, Goddess. I am ready to serve you.” That man answered obediently, and his face still touched the floor. That immortal goddess, who appeared normal, looked like she wanted to say something to him.
“Have you done anything with the Chosen One?” asked Goddess Magia. That immortal goddess certainly knew what her people had done, but she wanted something different, one of which was direct recognition from her trusted people. Brazam remembered the incident at the Ztatzav Orphanage.
“Yes, Goddess. I and seven other witches have come to the place where the Chosen One was and made a magical fence around the place,” answered Brazam honestly.
Will Goddess Magia be angry? I hope she does not get angry with me, the man in the robe wishes, who already had worries. Brazam did not dare to change position, even though his physical abilities were no longer as strong as when he was younger.
“Did anyone else see your actions?” Goddess Magia seemed to want to confirm the Healer’s statement, but she deliberately wanted to know from her devotee’s perspective. The immortal goddess did not show an angry expression, but the opposite sex could not see it because she was still in the same position.
Brazam was afraid because he remembered the confession of one of his community members. “Please have mercy on me, Goddess. There were indeed two people watching us. One of them was the Chosen One.”
The man who had been guiding wizards for a long time could not deny that the mistakes of the people in his team were part of his fault, too. Goddess Magia had not yet responded, which made Brazam only pray that everything would be fine and that the goddess whom all the witches worshipped would not suffer her anger.
“Do you know who was the person who witnessed your actions at that time?” Goddess Magia still wants to get further information. She was happy with Brazam’s initiative. However, the Moon Goddess deliberately did not want to reveal such things initially.
“There was a woman. Dutzit could not see her face clearly because the atmosphere was dark. He informed me that the strange woman was standing near the window, and she did not say anything.” Brazam still clearly remembered what the male witch told him, so he told the immortal goddess what he remembered.
“In your opinion, who was that woman?”
“I guess she was the Healer, Goddess. In Zlatav, only two groups have supernatural abilities, but their power is not as strong as ours, namely the Seers or fortune tellers and Healers. The rest are ordinary people who can hear or see supernatural things, but that’s it. Because their ancestors came from the witches.”
Goddess Magia fell silent again, so the atmosphere in the room became quiet again. Meanwhile, the High Priest did not dare to say anything else because he was waiting for orders from the immortal goddess who liked to appear suddenly. The atmosphere there became colder and colder, so the man was cold, but he tried to endure it as much as possible.
“Why did you make a magical fence around the orphanage?”
The fear that had vanished because of the cold air returned without being able to be prevented. Goddess Magia continued to watch her loyal servant with an expressionless expression, but if Brazam could see her, then the man would be afraid. “Please forgive me, Goddess. I took the initiative myself because I did not want the Chosen One to be hurt by the emperor’s envoys. Forgive my actions.”
“I am not angry. You did the right thing.”
The High Priest’s anxiety disappeared as soon as possible when he heard this unexpected sentence. Brazam did not expect the Queen of Witches to say that. He almost raised his head but immediately gave up his intention because he remembered that Goddess Magia had not told him to act like that.
“Thank you, Goddess.” Brazam was grateful that the immortal goddess was not angry, so he was grateful. However, the man remained alert because the Crossroads Lady had not yet left the room.
“Are any of the wizards you have ordered out of here and in the Zlatav area?” asked Goddess Magia with a flat expression.
The man, who was over a hundred years old, fell silent. Brazam was trying to remember something because he did not want to give the wrong answer. When he remembered, he dared to say it. “If I am not mistaken, three wizards have come out of the village. Two wizards have gone to the Ztatzav Orphanage area, and one has gone near the capital,” he answered confidently.
“Good. Tomorrow, you must arrange for the other two wizards to split up, and they should be back before midnight.” Goddess Magia told her loyal servant that she seemed to want to leave the area as soon as possible.
“Yes, Goddess. I will carry out Your orders.” Brazam was determined to do what the immortal goddess had told him to do. The cold air that had been present there slowly faded, as if giving a sign that the Goddess Magia had left.
Brazam was still in a state of prostration and did not dare to speak. Does Goddess Magia no longer exist? The atmosphere is starting to become warm again, and usually, when it is like that, everything becomes normal, thought the High Priest.
Slowly but surely, the silver-haired man raised his head and saw no one there. Brazam started looking around to no avail. This situation made the man feel relieved. “Thank God Goddess Magia has left. I am relieved because she stated that what we did at the orphanage where the Chosen One lived was right. What should I do now? Should I check on the condition of the criminals from the palace?”
Brazam got up, then clapped his palms together to remove the dust stuck to them. After repeating this several times, the silver-haired man seemed to be starting to concentrate towards the front. He again raised both palms to chest level while cast the spell, “Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and Spirit, show me what was happening with our enemies!”
A red light shot out from the High Priest’s palms. At first, the light was small and then grew bigger over time. Brazam continued to concentrate, lowering his palm without further ado when the light produced.
The light showed the condition of five young men who looked pale, tired, and injured. They were separated from the others. Two men were seen alone, and there was also one who was alone with his friend. They were far apart, and even the men’s expressions were almost desperate. This sight made Brazam smile happily. Even his smile had turned into a scary grin.
“So five of you came looking for the Chosen One and killed her? I will never let that happen! I am sure Goddess Magia is the one who caused them all to suffer harm, and I am so happy to see it. I just let them enjoy all the pain so that it is all imprinted in their memory, not to mess with our goddess. Everything is under control for us.”
