Chapter 31. So, Are You…?

Book:Alexa The Dark Witch Published:2024-8-20

The next day,
“Alexa, wait a minute!”
That voice had been able to make a girl with long chestnut brown hair who was carrying three books in both hands turn to the caller as soon as possible. It turned out a familiar young man was walking fast so she could approach him. The sight surprised her, making the virgin frown.
“What happened?” Alexa asked, confused.
“I need to talk with you,” Aiden replied seriously.
“Sure, you can. Where do you want us to talk?”
“Follow me.”
“Okay.”
The first daughter of the couple, Tristian Varden Writh and Lavena Isolda Keira, also followed that young man. The chosen one also looked at the opposite sex’s back with a feeling of confusion, as well as full of curiosity, because Aiden invited her to speak, but she did not know what that guy was about to say.
They continued to walk through the deserted alley in the orphanage. Several people who happened to pass by then accidentally looked at Alexa, and Aiden felt strange and cynical at the same time. They were whispering, but the hazel-eyed girl ignored them. Now, the two of them had arrived in front of a room, which saw a sign that read ‘health room’.
A twelve-year-old teenage boy turned around and looked at the girl, who still seemed to be waiting for his answer. The atmosphere there seemed quiet because there had been no conversation, including between Aiden and Alexa. A beautiful girl who had the beauty of her biological mother also raised her eyebrows, a sign of anxiety.
“What do you want to talk about, Aiden?” asked Alexa, starting a conversation between them.
That young guy has not opened his mouth yet. He just watched the other person with a look that was difficult to interpret, so such a moment added to the confusion in the virgin. Time passed slowly for the young lady who came from a noble family. Alexa hugged the books that were brought as if to cover the anxiety that was stored in her heart.
“Alexa, I want to ask you something. This may sound strange, to be honest.” The silver-haired youth finally said something after a long silence.
The owner of the name just nodded without intending to comment further. Aiden looked reluctant to say something, but the teenage boy seemed to have made up his mind to solve the curiosity that had been bothering him, which needed an answer as soon as possible.
“Are you… are you a witch?” asked Aiden, hesitating.
“What?” Alexa asked the young man in return with an expression of disbelief, so this made Aiden uncomfortable. However, the grey-eyed guy was still waiting for an answer from the pointy-nosed girl, who looked so taken aback by her new friend’s question.
“Why are you even asking that? Are there any odder rumors about me?” Alexa ventured to ask two more questions about the young boy she had only known one day. Aiden looked down for a few seconds as if he was avoiding the gaze of the girl who was often bullied at the orphanage.
“No. It is not about the rumors circulating here, but I had two experiences related to you, so I asked this earlier.” Aiden finally wanted to answer. However, he did not want to explain in detail, so Alexa’s curiosity grew even more.
“You can tell me about that.”
A guy who had a height of one hundred and seventy-five centimeters even looked around. He seemed afraid that others would overhear their conversation, thus making sure that things were safe. Alexa just watched Aiden’s actions with a million questions inside.
“Yesterday, when we went to the field. I saw something strange.”
“What was that?”
“You will not believe me.”
“If you do not say so, how would I know about it?”
“There was a strange woman. She had three faces, three bodies, and also three pairs of hands and feet. The most interesting part was she was standing close to you.”
That young lady could not understand what she had just heard. She became increasingly suspicious of the guy who was standing in front of her and was only making up a lie. “What? It was ridiculous, Aiden! I did not see anyone else there. It was just you, me, Samuel, Aileen, and Adaline.”
“I am serious, Alexa. I know my words may sound stupid or crazy, but that was what happened. That weird woman who made me faint yesterday. I even met her twice!” The interlocutor still tried to convince Alexa, even though this situation was difficult for him.
The intelligent girl did not want to answer. She spontaneously looked around as if to make sure that no one was hiding, then overheard their conversation. Meanwhile, Aiden was still waiting for a reaction from the opposite sex. That introverted young man was forced to take such actions in order to complete the curiosity that was in his heart.
“What do you mean, you met her twice? Did that scary woman ever say something to you?” Alexa asked quietly.
A girl who was dumped by her parents when she was a baby still tried to calm down, even though this seemed difficult to do. Meanwhile, the other person sounded snorted as if he was annoyed with the figure that would soon be described by him. The two residents of the orphanage looked tense.
“Yes, that was true. I saw that strange woman twice; the first when we were in the field and the second when I was still in a stupor,” replied Aiden, looking agitated. The young guy seemed to want to get rid of the awful moment but in vain.
“Then? What did that strange woman say so she could make you like this?” Alexa asked further.
Now, Alexa’s heart was beating faster, as if she was afraid to hear what the opposite sex that was the same age as she had to say. “Yes. At first, she asked me, ‘Why do you live among the mortals? This is not your place.’ then she told me to look after you.” Aiden answered, remembering.
“Hmm? Why would she even ask you to do that? What was the matter with me?”
“I also do not know. But wait a minute. That weird woman was also there to say something else, but I forgot it.”
They fell silent again. It did not satisfy the girl, who had a height of one hundred and seventy centimeters, with the answer given by Aiden. However, Alexa had not dared to reveal it openly and just kept it all in her heart.
That grey-eyed man felt differently. The young guy was deep in thought as if he was trying hard to remember the message he accidentally forgot, which was a message from a strange woman who entered while he was unconscious.
A young lady remembered the task she had to carry out, so she took the initiative to open the conversation again. “Is there anything else you want to say? If it is not there, then I want to go back to my room so I can do my homework.”
Aiden had not answered yet and was still looking like he was in his original state. Such a moment made Alexa pursed her lips, so the girl once again looked around the area where she and the boy were.
Yeah, I do not want to waste any more time here. After all, it was hazardous, especially when another orphan passed by. Anyone in this place could report it to Madame Aufrodine or Madame Loiston by saying something made up, thought the tall and slender maiden.
“Wait, I remembered the message from that strange woman, and she had three faces and bodies!” Aiden prevented the interlocutor’s wishes, so Alexa was increasingly suspicious of the situation, but curiosity had welled inside her.
“So? Can you tell me, instead of us staying in this place for too long?” asked Alexa, who was already reluctant to make small talk.
“Yes, I can. Are you a witch but do not realize it? Because that strange woman said if you-”
