Olive blinked her eyes repeatedly before she finally understood what he was talking about. He was actually referring to the time he choked her and she had said he had to earn her forgiveness. Goodness! Even she had forgotten that.
“Let’s have something stronger,” he said to her as he pulled out a bottle of Devil Springs Vodka. Her eyes flung open as he quickly opened it and was about to pour it in his glass first. He was going to mix it with the cocktail.
But despite that, that liquor was dangerous. It always did her dirty. When she first had it, she felt like a puppet in its hands.
She literally flung herself on a senator of the country who she was supposed to accompany with the order of The Vrek Cult. She was just one of the bodyguards accompanying him to an underground casino in the country’s capital.
This senator was not a ‘saint’. So yes, he had dealings with the underworld. And he was a werewolf too. Gosh, that day, he ‘had’ her crazily right there in front of everyone. Cynthia included.
She had thought she disgraced herself when she woke up two days later in her bed with the worst hangover ever. But behold, Cynthia was jealous of her and hated it that the senator came all the way to check on her while she was still out. Turns out, he liked her. And they met up in hotels and private properties for a few months before she cut him off politely.
Thinking about that now, her stomach churned. She was irritated by her life. How would Wayne accept her if he figured them out? Would he ever make love to her if he figured out the amount of penises she’s had in her? Or the abortions? The reputation she had among men of his calibre who have had her one or more times?
Suddenly, Olive burst into sobs and the glass she was holding fell and shattered on the floor. Two minutes ago she was chuckling. And now she was sobbing loudly.
Alpha Knight-he was aghast.
“Olive…what is it?” he hurried to her side, almost roughly knocking off the glass he had dropped. He held her shoulders as she shook with sobs.
“Olive, look at me. Stop crying!” he sounded agitated but she wasn’t even hearing him. She cried more and began to wipe her tears that were streaming down twice as fast as she was wiping them.
“It’s okay. It’s fine. Come here,” Wayne hugged her and patted her back. She stopped crying and pushed him away slightly. He felt mad and sad at the same time.
“Thanks,” she croaked and continued to wipe her face. Thankfully, the tears weren’t falling anymore. But Wayne was still agitated.
“Would you tell me what happened to you?” it wasn’t a question no matter how kind he spoke. It was clearly an order.
“I… nothing…” she said. He gave her a deathly and chilly glare.
“Twas just… some memories,” she stated after his quick glare at her.
“Don’t think about those memories. They don’t matter,” he said curtly, with a tightened jaw.
“They matter a lot, Wayne,” she managed to say and jumped down from the chair. She took mighty heaves and looked at his face. It was in a tight clench.
“I’m sorry. I just…” she trailed off when she hit something hard and was surrounded by strong grips. She blinked in surprise. Alpha Knight was hugging her.
“Don’t say anything, Olive,” he whispered softly and slowly stroked her hair. She sniffed and hugged him back. She closed her eyes but she couldn’t stop seeing her past deeds. He would never accept her if he finds out. She would be rejected and thrown out. She’d be an empty vessel again.
A second later and she burst into sobs again. Shuddering and clutching hard unto his jacket. Wayne’s jaw tightened even more. He was angry, but not with her for crying like an inconsolable baby. He was angry at whatever was making her cry. Those memories she was talking about. He wanted to know about them and erase them all. He wanted to take care of her.
“Olive, stop it,” he ordered with anger and pulled her away from him. He looked at her soaked up face, so red and wet. He pulled out a black small towel from his pocket and slowly dabbed her face. He wiped all her tears clean and sighed.
“I don’t want my mate crying. It makes my wolf go feral,” he informed her and her eyes bulged.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t know. I’m sorry,” she hastily apologized. She didn’t want him to be involuntarily affected because of her mistakes even when she hadn’t told him yet. She couldn’t tell him, but it wouldn’t be hidden forever.
“Come with me,” he said and pulled her hand towards the elevator.
“Where are you taking me?”
“Our quarters,” he answered and tapped the button. The elevator opened immediately and they entered. She stood behind him even as his hand was gripped firmly on hers. She didn’t want to see his face.
“You are going to tell me about your memories, Olive. Everything that has happened to you in the past. I want to know everything,” he stated firmly. Olive’s heart fell. Was that why he was taking her to their quarters?
“Wayne…please. Not-not yet,” she shuddered and tried to pull her hand from his grip. He looked back at her and his jaw muscles kept moving as he frowned hard. Olive stepped back in fear and his face loosened immediately.
“Stop being scared of me. I couldn’t hurt you even if I wanted, Olive,” he told her calmly. She took a deep breath and nodded.
“And I’m not going to force you to tell me anything now. Tell me when you want to and when you’re ready. Okay?”
She stared at him for a few seconds and gulped down after seeing the sincerity in his words. She nodded again and he exhaled.
“But why are you taking me to the quarters?” she asked.
“So you could take a warm bath and loosen the knots in your body,” he stated.
“But, you’re the one who just returned from a long trip,” she counteracted.
“I’m however, not the one who cried a river and is now red from scalp to neck,” he teased and she pouted.
“So you’re not going to rest?”
“I would. As long as you rest alongside me,” he smirked and pulled her to his side abruptly. She yelped as her body collided with his. His hand circled her waist while the other hand gently lifted up her chin to look at him.
“Pretty girl. I couldn’t stop thinking about those green eyes of yours,” he said while gazing deep into her eyes.
Slowly, he saw her turning pink then to a deep shade of red. He laughed and stepped out of the already open elevator with her. They walked quietly to the bedroom and he entered the bathroom alone. Shortly after, he came out and she was still standing and looking at the pool quietly. Wayne watched her as she stood motionless. Only her breathing moved her body. He immediately mind linked with Jake and gave him some instructions.
“The jacuzzi’s ready,” he announced and she flinched a little but quickly turned to look at him.
“Jacuzzi? You have a jacuzzi?”
He frowned.
“You didn’t see it?”
“I only saw a bathtub.”
He shook his head and gestured for her to follow him. She did and they entered the bathroom. It was medium sized luxury bathroom and there was nothing else that should show any extraordinary thing. The shower was covered by a glass as usual. The bathtub was opposite the shower and was bigger than the usual one. The toilet was in a different compartment. There was enough space in the bathroom to even dance but there was no jacuzzi.
“Where is the jacuzzi?” Olive asked Wayne. He walked ahead to the mirror wall adjacent the bathtub and shower. He seemed to press a tiny, red button at the edge of the right side and the whole glass wall slid open. Her eyes bulged and her jaw dropped. There was a whole different bathroom in there. A steaming jacuzzi tub was in the middle and there was a turned on television opposite it.
“Oh my God,” Olive exclaimed as her jaw dropped. She walked in and saw the 3D large bathroom. The walls were all glass, including the floor. And they were reflecting different scenery. When she first entered, it was a sunset in there. Clouds, trees, an ocean and the setting sun were being reflected in the room. Olive felt like she was on the beach in the evening. Slowly, the room began to change to nighttime. With the moon glowing and stars twinkling. She squealed and jumped with excitement.
“Gosh! How come I didn’t know this?”
“I’m sorry, I should have told you,” he grinned. She looked at the water and the different compartments in it. The compartments were like different tubs in form of stars. You could sit anywhere you wanted and each was connected. It was like a bath fountain.
“I oftentimes hide here a lot,” Wayne said and walked to a side platform where there was a fruit basket. He plucked a grape and put it in his mouth. When he turned, he found out Olive was already undressing. She was removing her shirt and soon, her red bra was the only thing his eyes could catch. She walked to a rack and gently hung her shirt there. Then she unbuttoned her jeans and was going to pull it down when-
“Olive?”
“Shit,” he heard her whisper and she quickly covered her front with the shirt then turned around.
“I’m sorry, I forgot you were still here,” she said then chuckled.
“It’s fine. It’s however, high time you start getting used to undressing in front of me. You’re going to be doing that a lot more than you think,” he gave her a lustful look then left the bathroom. Olive’s mouth refused to close as she stood rooted to the floor. Was that a warning from Alpha Knight or flirting?
