The Big Bad Alpha Returns

Book:Mated To The Big Bad Alpha Published:2024-8-20

The silence in the Circular Cabinet was becoming too deep and eerie for Olive to continue standing sane. All eyes were on her and the way the Alpha stared at her. Had she said something wrong? Did she look too desperate? Was it obvious that she had missed him crazily? Her wolf was killing her and begging to see her mate. She too couldn’t help feeling desperate to see him.
“Missed me, mate?” his deep baritone voice resounded in her head. She gulped at how sexy his voice was. And that stare…he could as well melt her soul with it as he was melting her body. Dolly chuckled softly and nudged Vanessa who was looking at her with that knowing look girls give girls after their crush enters the room.
“I…I didn’t…” she trailed off.
“Of course she missed you, Wayne. She hid it well but trust me to find out. Your portrait in the Alpha Hall almost faded because she wouldn’t stop staring everyday and running her fingers across your face,” that was Vanessa. She giggled alongside Dolly and they winked at Olive.
Olive’s jaw dropped open in shock. How had they found that that she secretly went to the Alpha Hall Shem had shown her. And that she always preferred to stare at Wayne’s large portrait because she missed him terribly. The Alpha Hall contained large portraits of all the Alphas of Balendin Pack till date.
“That true, Olive?” Wayne asked with a sly smile. He had leaned back and sat in a tilted way, looking at her in a sexy manner.
“That was…I just thought…it was a nice por…trait,” she stammered and bit her lower lip hard, when she released it that spot was redder than the rest. Wayne saw that and his wolf growled within him. Those lips were his, he should be bitting them.
He smiled and sat upright.
“Come here,” he said in a low tone that it almost sounded like a deep whisper. Goosebumps spread out on her skin when he pronounced those words the way he did. She was still rooted to the spot she was when she first entered the room, but she felt her legs trying to move on their own to run to their Alpha mate.
‘Out, everyone!’ Dolly communicated to everyone through their mind link.
They were in the middle of a meeting with their Alpha, and he didn’t like distractions. He had been away from his pack for a week and they had to report everything. It wasn’t an official meeting, but they were his inside men and women. He would still listen to the report of his parliament, but he would be already pre-informed and would know when something’s amiss.
So, his men couldn’t just leave except he said so. They stood rooted to the spot, looking at him this time. After seconds passed and they were not making any move to leave. He scowled and glared at them.
‘What are you waiting for?!’
They all scampered out and shut the door behind them. Olive felt like sitting on the floor because her legs were getting wobbly and couldn’t hold her weight. She was aware that he had wanted them to be alone. Gosh! She had longed to see him for days. Now that he was right there, she was lost for words and actions.
“Are you coming or should I come to you?” his voice echoed through her mind and soul again. She stood motionless for a few seconds and he got on his feet and was coming to her.
“What? No, wait!” she blurted and took hurried steps across the room to the bar. Immediately she was by him, he took her hand and led her to a barstool. His contact with her gave her a spark…one that was soothing to her. It must be their mate bond crackling.
As if the holding of hands wasn’t enough, he grabbed her waist with both hands and gently sat her on the seat. She had yelped at the sudden action and grabbed his strong arms for support. When he had sat her down, she expected him to move but he didn’t. He was staring up at her, with his hands firmly gripping her waist.
Olive couldn’t match his gaze so she began to look sideways at anything she could find. He smiled and brought his face to hers…so close to hers. She whimpered slightly and shut her eyes, tilting her head to the right, away from him. She pursed her lips nervously and inwardly laughed at herself. She was always so strong and poised. Never breaking and too hard of a nut for men to crack. Even while she was in bed with men, she had no emotions apart from lust. Yes, she lusted for pleasure but never for the men.
And here she was, melting just by a simple contact and gaze from Alpha Knight. She was whimpering and shaking. Her body was dying for more of his touch, at the same time being scared of that touch. Gosh!
“Why are you still scared of me, Olive?” he breathed out, his face just few inches from hers. She could tell he was looking at her straight in the face.
“I…I’m not scared of you,” she stuttered.
“Then open your eyes and look at me, mate,” he demanded and gripped her waist even more. She yelped and tightened her grip on his arms. It was then she realized she had been holding him ever since. She slowly removed her hands and opened her eyes, but not looking at him.
“Look at me,” he said in a desperate, lusty voice. His voice was like a whisper, but deep and demanding. She bit her lips nervously and it made him shut his eyes for a second. When he opened them, she was staring at him. Gosh! He could get wasted just by letting those green orbs stare at him.
“How have you been?”
“I…have been fine. How was your mission?”
He smiled and rubbed his thumbs against her waist. She almost arched her back towards him. He was messing with her brain. If his touch at a place as simple as her waist was turning her head like this, what much more would happen to her if he actually touched her at those places? She would go mad!
“My mission went well. It was tough, but went well,” he answered and surprisingly leaned on her as if taking comfort after the tough mission. She froze for awhile as he nuzzled into her neck and inhaled her scent. He hugged her comfortingly and closed his eyes, feeling relaxed against her body.
She couldn’t believe he was relaxing with her…seeking comfort with her. However, her shock ebbed down a little after she remembered that this was what mates were made for. She was supposed to calm his beast, quench his fire and suppress his rage. She was his mate. His.
Slowly, Olive’s hands moved up and rested on his back. He made a low grunt as he felt her hands on him. He held her tighter and placed his nose against the skin on her neck. All his hot breaths whipped her there and sent shivers down her spine.
By his reaction, she knew he approved of whatever she was doing. Her hands then rubbed slowly up and down his broad back without even reaching each other. Her right hand traced his back to his hair and her fingers found their way into it. Wayne shut his eyes tightly and nuzzled more into her neck. His palms began to move in circles on her back, while he himself enjoyed every single ministration she carried out on him. He loved it.
They stayed that way for up to five minutes. Just rubbing each other and bringing comfort. However, the silence was too much for Olive.
“Wayne…” she called.
“Hmm…” he answered. His eyes were still shut and there was a fine line between him and sleep. Her fingers in his hair were like sedatives. Intoxicating him and dragging him to wonderland. Only he knew what her fingers were also doing to him downstairs. He was so aroused.
“Are you hungry?” she asked. He shook his head and she frowned.
“But you just returned from a long journey,” she complained.
“I hardly feel hunger, Olive,” he drawled.
She was quiet for a few seconds.
“How about a little rest then? The jet lag should be taking a toll on you,” she said calmly and withdrew her hands from his hair and back. He frowned deeply at the separation and stepped back from her.
When Olive felt his body and hands slipping away, it was like her soul was taken away. She felt empty, cold and worthless. She wanted him back…to feel her again.
“Why do you sound like an overbearing wife?” he raised a brow at her.
“Overbearing mate in your case,” he added and she shrugged then chuckled. That sight was somewhat cute to Alpha Knight. He cracked a small chuckle and turned around to the drinks. He looked over them all then finally picked a bottle of Liberation Cocktails Espresso Martini. He grabbed a cocktail glass and poured out the chilled drink into the bottle. Olive looked at the bar and noticed it wasn’t a cold one. She chuckled at the thought that he had turned the drink cold. Who needs ice now?
“What’s amusing?” Wayne asked.
“Did you turn that bottle cold?”
“Are you going to arrest me?” he asked as he was pouring out the drink into a second glass.
“What? No,” she laughed.
“Even if I do, I doubt handcuffs could hold you anyway,” she added and shrugged. He smirked and gently placed the bottle on the counter. He lifted one glass and brought it to her. She gently collected it.
“Thanks,” she mumbled and immediately took a sip. She lowered it but her thirst was more demanding. All that touching scorched her inner organs.
Olive gulped down the whole glass before Wayne could even pick his up. He looked at her with amusement. Then he poured out more for her and she gulped it down again. He poured it out one more time, but this time she just took a sip. He took a gulp of his and looked at Olive’s face.
“Did I earn it?” he asked and she raised both her eyebrows questioningly.
“Huh?”
“I doubt,” Wayne said to himself, ignoring her question.
“What is it?”
“I was wondering if I earned your forgiveness already. I mean, I totally went away for a week. I would understand if I haven’t earned it yet. Maybe I should serve you more drinks,” he stated and turned to face the bar again, moving his eyes along the bottles in order to find the perfect drink for his mate.
