Gia striped her eyes away from Olive whom she was beginning to despise more than she imagined. She had come to see if the Alpha was in the Circular Cabinet with his men and sisters, but she couldn’t smell him at all. She rolled her eyes and walked in fully with elegance and poise.
She had come to the office and just couldn’t concentrate. She wanted to see her Alpha q. The Alpha that she would soon become his Luna. Of course, only she could match his magnanimous position. She was the most presentable woman he could ever desire to stand by him. Not this…
“Olive, right?” she directed at Olive who was holding a pizza in her hand.
“Yes. Do I know you?” Olive innocently asked but the eyes Gia saw were of pretense. She scoffed and rolled her eyes dramatically.
“I doubt someone like you would know me,” she insulted and Olive bit her lower lip.
“If you’re here to bully her, you might as well leave,” that was Vanessa’s voice. Gia was surprised at her audacity and she turned to face her fully.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard her, Gia. Don’t bully our Luna,” Shem stated and Gia’s head spinned at the mention of that name Luna. How dare he refer to her as Luna? Did he think that position was simply based on being the Alpha’s mate?
“Luna?” she laughed and tucked her hair behind her ear.
“I don’t see any thing qualified to be a Luna in this room right now,” she added while staring at Olive. Olive understood that she had just referred to her as a thing.
“That includes you, right? You’re obviously standing in this room too you know,” Olive found her voice and she smirked at Gia.
“What’s your name again?” Olive asked. Gia didn’t answer her. She looked to Dolly instead.
“Where is Wayne?” she asked. Everyone in the room except Olive wondered why she was suddenly referring to him as pure Wayne. And why did she add a possessive tone to his name?
“Alpha Knight, Lady Gia. It’s always Alpha Knight to you. You don’t have any personal relationship with him to call him Wayne,” Shem stated and Gia’s round eyes turned to glare at him.
“F\*CK that! Even we that are his closest men still can’t call him Wayne like he’s our boyfriend or something,” Crusoe, who had been silently watching finally spoke up. He was the quiet type, always thinking ahead. And he already realized what Gia was up to. But he wondered why she took sudden interest in him after his mate arrived. Was it because she always had a hidden interest and only let it out now that she had seen a possible threat?
“Did somebody talk?” Gia asked sarcastically as she looked at Crusoe with a gaze full of mockery. Crusoe raised a brow at her.
“When people are talking, minions should keep quiet,” she spat at him. Vanessa gasped and Dolly looked at her with wide eyes. How dare she insult Crusoe?
“Would you like to join us for lunch? You look like you haven’t enjoyed a meal for weeks. You look so gaunt. When you stepped in, I thought it was a starved up horse who entered with human clothes,” Olive stated and a tremendous laugh erupted throughout the room. Gia’s cheeks turned pink.
“How dare you insult me?!” Gia raged and took angry steps towards Olive. She raised her hand to slap her but Jericho held it in the air. Pinning his strong fingers against her wrist and making sure it hurt her.
“Stop! Let go of me!” she protested and tried to pull out her hand from his grip but he tightened it. She frowned deeply and threw him a punch which he blocked. She was a good fighter, so she immediately kicked him in the stomach and ventured to elbow his face with the hand he was still gripping unto.
But Jericho pulled his head backwards and her elbow flew right across without touching him. He grabbed both her arms and twisted them backwards painfully that she yelped. He held her tightly in that position, her back to him.
“You brute! I’ll have you punished severely for harassing the Chief Female Army Commander! You’ll be thrown out of this castle!” she yelled and Jericho laughed deeply but darkly. Olive gasped as she saw his features darken and turn evil, unlike the cheerful, smiling Jericho she knew.
“I think the only one being thrown out of this castle for harassment is you, Chief Female Army Commander,” he whispered into her ear. His breath against her skin brought shivers down her spine. She knew the Big Bad Alpha’s men were almost as bad as him. And she had heard about this blonde one.
“The Alpha gave us very strict orders to deal with whoever tries his mate while he is away. I imagine how he would react if he finds out a certain Chief Female Army Commander not only bullied her but tried to hit her as well,” he added and she scoffed angrily.
“Let go of me,” she ordered. Jericho gently let go of her and she rubbed her wrists. She exhaled and glared at him.
“You ruined our lunch, Lady Gia. We were having such a fun time,” Shem spoke up. She glared at him and looked at Terry who was just there, staring at her.
“You. I need to know where the Alpha is. Tell me,” she ordered. He had been silent ever since, so she thought he was not a part of their embarrassing attitude to her.
“I don’t know. Why don’t you just call him?” he shrugged. Gia noticed his sly smile as he said those words. She realized she was just going to continue embarrassing herself if she kept on interacting with them. They were all the same.
“I’ll check back here in the evening.” And with that, she turned around and left, her heels noisily clunking on the floor. The whole room was drowned in silence as she walked on until she entered the elevator in the hall. Everyone released the breaths they had been holding in due to frustration, and not fear.
“B\*tch,” Vanessa cussed out loud.
“What has come over her? I honestly thought she didn’t like to have anything to do with us,” Shem stated and resumed eating the slightly cold pizza.
“She wasn’t here to see us. She was here for Wayne,” Dolly said and got on her feet. She took a hamburger and walked to the window before taking a bite.
“But since when?” Shem asked again.
“Since last night,” Dolly answered.
“Something is fishy about her,” Terry stated and sat on the couch.
Olive gently dropped the slice of pizza she had been holding unto since Gia stepped into the room. She hated the way that lady looked at her. Like she was an old rag doll taken from under a rusty old couch and filled with cobwebs and dirt. That was what Gia made her feel. She sighed and leaned against the counter, staring at the door Gia had disappeared through. She couldn’t believe just one person could ruin about seven people’s happy lunch like that.
Meanwhile Gia reached the ground floor, fuming with anger and red to her scalp. She quickly made her way to her office and ignored the bows guards gave her as she walked past. Not that she used to acknowledge them before anyway. She entered her office and slumped in her swiveling chair. She would have pulled on her hair if not for the tiny bit of self restraint she had left.
That Olive… that bitch! She was going to get rid of her and that big mouth of hers. So because she found herself in a fancy castle overnight, with men at her service, she thinks she could exchange words with her?
And to even realize that Alpha Wayne had made all his men her subjects just because he was away was ripping Gia’s heart into shreds. It wasn’t like anyone would dare to infiltrate the castle and abduct her. The Balendin Pack Castle was one of the safest. No one could hurt her. Yet, he stupidly assigned all his men to her.
She bit her lip hard to control her overlapping emotions. A knock came on the door and it took her few minutes to be able to calm herself and let the person in. It was Sin, her personal bodyguard. She bowed and placed a big brown envelope on the desk.
“This is all the information I could get concerning Olive Roger, the woman with the Alpha,” Sin reported firmly. Gia looked at the envelope with a stern face. She sighed, took it and opened the seal. There were more than three papers inside so she just pulled out the first one. After glancing at it for just two seconds, a gasp escaped her lips and she hurriedly covered her mouth with her palm. A shock wave traveled down her spine. Then slowly, a sly smile appeared on her lips.
