Olive woke up at noon. She was feeling refreshed and strengthened. It was a long while back that she had taken leisure naps like this and she enjoyed every minute of it.
She took a shower and wore shorts and a baggy shirt that belonged to Wayne. It smelled just like him, and she kept inhaling deeply as she walked around the room. She decided to go to the terrace so she walked out there.
Olive smiled at the view.
She could see the whole premises of the castle and the roads that led out of it. She could also see the forests outside. One of which could be Lochill Woods that Wayne had taken her to.
She remembered that river and wanted to go back there and dive in, with Wayne by her side of course. Oh, how she was missing Wayne!
She took a look around the terrace. The wall surrounding it was just waist-length. It had a smooth concrete floor and a barbecue grill was standing by a corner. This place would be excellent for dinner outside.
When the wind was becoming too harsh for her, she walked back into the cozy room. She felt bored. If only she could just find something to do. She left the room and entered the kitchen. When she came out, she had a steaming cup of coffee in her hand. Instead of returning to the room, she walked into the receiving hall instead.
She watched the fountain, then the pretty aquarium. The fish made her laugh at times because of the things they were doing with each other dumbly. Next, Olive looked at all the designs, plants and paintings on the wall. She also realized that they were several other bedrooms. She walked into the gym and dropped her coffee which was almost finished on the large table by the door. She took the punching gloves and walked to the punching bags.
“Been awhile I did this,” she said and landed a thick blow on it with her right hand. It swerved and she punched it twice with both hands. She kicked with her legs too and lost track of time as she kept punching and kicking. Next thing she heard amidst the sounds she was making was a clap. She stopped immediately and held the bag, looking behind her where the clapping was from.
“You’re good at this,” Jericho complimented and gave her a sideways smile. She returned the smile and walked away from the bag.
“Oh, I used to do this a lot. Back at the cult,” she said amidst pants. She began to pull out the thick gloves.
“Do you box?” he asked.
“A lot. Do you?”
“Yeah. Do you mind a match? You beat me up back at Selcece Pack and I feel pretty bad. I want my confidence back,” Jericho said with a pout. Olive laughed and began to wear the gloves again.
“You might never regain your confidence, Jeri,” she teased. He wore a pair of gloves too and they walked to the ring which was at the far end of the gym. They entered and after a count to three, they began to circle each other. Olive waited for him to throw the first punch, then she would block it and kick him.
She wasn’t one to rush into a fight, that was her strength in every match. Jericho calculated her and smirked. He knew she was trying to avoid hitting him first. He then threw a punch but withdrew immediately, not even allowing his punch to reach her halfway.
Olive instinctively tried to block the punch and she staggered back when none came. She was surprised a little and before she could regain her stance, a real punch landed on her arm and a kick went straight to her side. She gasped and threw punches which were successfully blocked by Jericho. He was smiling sheepishly and she was getting mad. She decided to take it slow.
They began to throw calculative blows and no one seemed to be ready for defeat. Finally, Jericho landed Olive a double kick on her side and a blow to her tummy, causing her to fall to the ground with a wince.
“I won!” Jericho exclaimed and he too fell to the ground while Olive laughed at him.
“Yeah, right. After almost an hour,” she giggled and laid straight on the floor.
“I was taking it easy on you. If I should go full power, Wayne would have my head,” he said and held unto the ropes for support even as he was on the ground.
“No, he wouldn’t. What did he do when he saw how y’all almost beat me to death?” Olive sat up, her legs in triangles against the floor of the ring. She crossed her arms against her legs and stared at Jericho who was looking at her with an amused expression.
“The only reason he didn’t hurt us was because he was angry with himself the most. If he wasn’t hating on himself that day, we all would have tasted his wrath first hand. Olive, the day your mate found you, I saw him exuding a different type of terrifying rage. One he had never shown before. He hated himself for doing that to you, he hated himself for almost mur. dering you, and something tell me he still does” Jericho revealed.
Before Olive could even react to what he had said, she heard Shem’s voice from the door.
“What are you two doing?”
They looked at her bewildered face. Jericho stood up and helped Olive to stand up too.
“Oh, hey Shem. Have you met Olive?” Jericho asked as he pointed to her.
“We met earlier during breakfast,” Olive answered instead.
“Yeah, Wayne’s pretty mate. I honestly don’t know why he got such a beaut,” Shem shook his head as he walked closer.
“Anyway, what are you guys doing?”
“We just finished boxing,” Jericho answered.
“What? You…you hit her? You hit Wayne’s mate? Do you have a death wish or something?!” Shem looked seriously alarmed.
