“Hi, I’m Jericho,” he said. His smile was broad, and nice. Olive was forced to smile in return.
“Hi, Jeri,” she said blankly and he chuckled at the nickname.
“Remember me?”
“You… you were part of those me who mocked me,” she responded. He bit his lower lip, looked down and began to scratch the back of his head.
“I… well-” he looked up at her.
“I apologize for that. But, you already had your revenge. You beat me, broke my nose, slashed my face and knocked me out. Bravo,” be said with a genuine smile.
“Why do you… seem proud of me when you should be angry that I did that?”
“You proved us wrong. You’re not ‘fragile, weak and unworthy of him’.”
Olive stared hard, trying to descern what he was up to. But, she couldn’t find anything amiss. He seemed… real.
“Thanks, I guess,” she managed to say.
Jericho smiled again and that was when Olive noticed he had dimples. He was simply a cute guy. With blonde hair which was in a fancy haircut, two white earrings and bright blue eyes. Not to talk about those dimples.
“Do I look cute?” he asked.
“What?”
“People often say I’m very cute. Makes me feel more like a child than a man.”
Olive smiled.
“I don’t think you’re cute,” she stated and he chuckled.
“Your mate said you should wait at the table. He’s going to have lunch with you here,” Jericho pointed at the dinning table by the pool. Olive sighed. She didn’t see those there.
“Thank you,” she appreciated him.
“See you later,” he said and turned to leave the room. Olive smiled at him.
‘I like that one,’ she thought to herself. Her wolf practically rolled her eyes at her.
‘I like Wayne Knight better,’ she said.
Olive walked to the sparkling blue pool at the top right corner of the large room and bent beside it. She dipped her hand in it and formed ripples.
She loved water a lot. She looked around the princely room and decided to take in every detail. She loved the king-sized bed with black and white bedding. The sesame bar was filled up with drinks that she wanted to have a taste of. There was a french window that overlooked the terrace.
Beside that was the mirror door to the closet, and that of the bathroom too. Few metres from there was the black leather sofas in a curve shape, with a glass table in front. Next was just the large space, enough to ride a bicycle. The floor was almost as clear as crystal if not for the tiny dots of black in the tiles. The bed was at the bottom left corner after the wide space, and the pool was at the top right corner.
“Luxury,” Olive whispered. Would she ever get used to it? And… what was Alpha Knight’s plans? Was he going to keep her? Maybe marry her?
“No,” she shook her head at the top. That was very unlikely.
The room door opened and three kitchen maids entered with large trays in their hands. They bowed to her before setting the table. They were pouring drinks when she got a fresh doze of rain on a dusty ground smell and she stood upright immediately. Alpha Wayne Knight was back in the room. Their eyes met, and just like before, they couldn’t look away. He was so attractive and alluring. She instantly fell in love with those thick eyebrows.
Wayne was surprised to see her wearing the ‘ridiculous’ hoodie his younger sister had gifted him. He hated teddy bears, bright colors and hoodies as a whole. But, the hoodie didn’t look so ridiculous on her anymore. She was stunning in it. Sexy was an understatement. It was a little way over her knees and he wanted to see her run around that way. Almost unclad and barefoot on his floor.
He peeled his eyes off and looked at the table. The maids had finished pouring the drinks. They bowed to him simultaneously and trailed away in a line. Wayne gestured to the table with his head and Olive looked towards that direction. He walked to the bathroom door and entered. Olive gulped down.
“This is hard,” she said to herself. She sat down on one of the dining chairs and stared at the lavish dishes set on the table. She wanted to dig in already, but decided to wait for her mate.
He got out two minutes later wearing a tight shirt and his hair in a very short ponytail. He had taken off his black leather jacket and washed his face. Olive looked at how his muscles rippled underneath his shirt as he walked and moved his arms. He soon reached her and sat down opposite her. He began to eat immediately.
“I didn’t know the Big Bad Alpha eats food like we do,” she taunted him. He gave a wicked chuckle and stared at her with his overly dark eyes.
“Eat,” he commanded and looked down at his plate. He was a very slow eater. But he looked menacing while doing so. Like he was crushing the food as a punishment to it. Olive kept staring with her mouth open. He glanced at her, cut a small amount of steak and put it in her open mouth. She blinked repeatedly and closed her mouth.
“Mate… eat,” Wayne dragged. She began to chew on the steak and looked down at her plate which was still empty because she hadn’t chosen her choice dish. Before she could move her hand to place something on her dish, her plate was taken and was replaced by a plate of already sliced steak.
She looked up at Wayne who had relaxed back on his chair and staring at her, with his index finger tapping his lips gently. It was like he was studying her.
“Eat, mate. You have a lot of explaining to do on how you attempted the murder of your moon-given mate. Also, you need energy for your punishment.”
Her eyes widened.
“Pun.. punishment?”
“It’s not in my nature to show mercy. Not even when it comes to my mate,” he said with gritted teeth and cold, dark eyes. The temperature of the room had fallen and goosebumps were visible on Olive’s skin.
