Special Chapter: Before Regression

Book:The Alpha Slayer's Redemption Published:2024-8-20

“Hudson Roly… Alpha of the Dusk Moon pack…” I stated the name of the next Alpha I was about to kill. I returned my gaze to my father, who looked at me with that frigid stare. “This should consider as done, Papa.” I smiled, an empty one before I curtsied before him.
No emotions.
We, the Cantavalle children, were not supposed to have that.
Having emotions would make someone weak.
“I am expecting good news after 90 days, Dominixe. Now, scoot.”
“Failure is never in my vocabulary, Papa. You have taught me well.” I curtsied before him. I raised my head, seeing that he was pleased with my words.
After a few days, I was dispatched now to go to where the Dusk Moon pack was. But before my departure, I had come to meet Aurora, Britanny and Maria’s mother. She was one of Papa’s four wives.
“Why can’t you just die already?” she asked in a bitter tone. She had this ridiculous stare that lingered all over her face.
“I shall try to do that, Mother Aurora.” I bowed my head before her.
“Mother? You are not even my pup! You are bestowing me hibby-jibbies!” She shook her head as she walked out. It was as if I had some contagious disease that was why she had to stay away from me as soon as possible.
I felt my heart aching silently from her words. It was really difficult to live to have no mother by your side.
I was Papa’s firstborn pup, but everyone treated me as if I was some illegitimate child. I was the first to come out of this world before my 10 siblings.
So, why were they treating me as if I was a nuisance? It was also my right to be part of the family.
“Lady Dominixe, we have prepared the sleeping gas.”
I was scouting tonight to make sure that I did not miss assessing the situation when Jude arrived. I folded my monoculars and faced them.
“Good.” I smiled. “Prepare for your position and your weapons as well,” I said before I returned my gaze back to the watch tower of the Dusk Moon pack.
I had been observing this pack for 15 days already. I had made a proclamation that this was the time that I must attack their pack tonight.
It was easy to decipher how their pack warriors patrolled. I made a quick decision to finish this pack since I knew that everything would go well as long as everyone would follow my advice.
“I am going to kill Hudson Roly before daybreak. Expect that from me,” I proclaimed as I had a sinister smile on my lips.
All of my henchmen were surprised at my words. But Eric was the one who recovered. “Yes, my lady. We believe in you. You have shown your prowess to us.” He bowed, respecting me more. “Right, everyone?” He turned at all the five henchmen I had brought.
For each Alpha slayer, Papa bestowed us five henchmen as our helpers to annihilate one pack. However, from killing an Alpha, it was a must that I was the one who must fulfill the job.
“Yes. We believe in you, my lady,” they all said in a lower tone.
Pleased at their answers, I returned to my tent. “Tonight, we are going to attack the Dusk Moon pack,” I said coldly before I proceeded to change my clothing to all-black.
With the high-potent sleeping gas, it was easy for me to break the proper system of the Dusk Moon pack. The whole pack was in a deep sleeping state before I infiltrated it first.
I began my first attack by first looking at the Gamma of the pack. Then I looked for the Beta. I slaughtered them with no mercy while my henchmen were busy annihilating the other pack members.
That was when I finally faced Hudson Roly, who was enraged and horrified when his people died at night. I only woke him up after making him sniff the smelling salts.
“You… What did you do to my pack?” Hudson bellowed upon seeing his pack bathed with their blood. He even heard from the other direction about the loud scream of women and children.
I unsheathed my sword from my scabbard. It was useless to use my wolf form since I was not on par with him if I was going to attempt. It would have been better to use a sword to finish him off.
His mental state was not in the proper condition seeing how he witnessed his pack being slaughtered all over the night. It took four hours to slaughter them, and I had to endure more time to finish Hudson Roly.
“This shall be over if you are going to cooperate with me, Hudson Roly.” I oscillated my sword in every direction, testing if I could move the sword according to my will. “Dominixe Cantavalle is my name. Remember that before you shall die along with your pack members.” I smiled menacingly.
Ah, this was good. It was good that I was imprinting horrors on their faces. It would be a matter of time before his death.
I would like to be rewarded by Papa. I would like to show him that I could be useful to our family.
“May the Moon Goddess punish you!” Hudson said angrily before he transformed into his wolf form.
I watched how his bones cracked as his human body shaped into a wolf one. I remained unfazed upon seeing his elephantine wolf form. It was already normal for me to see the Alpha’s true wolf form, so I was not that amazed at all.
Hudson barked before he sprinted in my direction. I prepared my sword and did not hesitate to charge forward.
It took three hours to finish him. It was already daybreak when I was lying on the vast green grass while looking up at the sky with a shade of yellow, orange, and red.
It was so beautiful to stare at. It screamed victory before I fished out the container, where I took Hudson’s eye to place it with the formalin to preserve it. My hands were covered with blood from slaughtering him.
I did not care about it as I felt proud of it.
“Papa shall be happy when he sees this.” My lips stretched out, wanting to be praised by my father.
However, there was still an emptiness that shallowed my whole being. I couldn’t find happiness through it. I couldn’t feel anything because of my stone-hearted condition.
“Ah…” I returned my gaze to the sky. “I feel so cold…” I muttered.
Cold… Because I couldn’t feel the warmth of everything.
It felt so lonely…
