Chapter 1048

“How ignorant can you be?”
“What a disgrace.”
Cassandra deliberately walked up to the three of them and said loudly, “Oh my, what’s going on? The photo session is only three minutes long, but you’ve been up there for almost ten minutes. Could it be that the Hipps family doesn’t have a camera, so you’re taking every opportunity to snap photos?”
Jaelynn’s face turned bright red.
“But the staff member just said we could take photos for ten minutes…”
“What staff member? Don’t blame it on the staff. Get down already.” Cassandra gave the three sisters a disdainful look. “What a disgrace!”
Maritza and Annika hadn’t expected to make such a basic mistake in public. “Let’s get down.”
“Let’s go.”
Just as they were about to come down, a staff member approached. “Ladies, please come this way. Our photo session doesn’t last that long.”
Jaelynn felt her face burning with embarrassment. After coming down, she said to the other two, “I think we were set up.”
“That staff member deliberately misled us,” Annika frowned. “It must be the Sweeney mother and daughter causing trouble.”
“Very likely,” Maritza nodded. “We need to be more careful and not embarrass our family again.”
“We can’t always rely on Sylvia to stand up for us,” Jaelynn bit her lip. “I almost fell just now; it must have been their doing too.”
“So… what should we do next?” The three sisters huddled together, whispering.
Seeing their embarrassed faces, Cassandra and her mother couldn’t be happier.
“This feels great!”
“It makes me happy to see them humiliated every day.”
Madam Virginia held her daughter’s hand as they walked forward. “We still have other brand shows to watch later! We must maintain our elegance and composure, unlike those ignorant girls.”
Cassandra smiled obediently. “Mom, you’re right.”
The mother and daughter wore smug expressions.
“Let’s go to our seats and rest for a while. The other brand shows will start soon.”
Madam Virginia, in high spirits, led Cassandra to their seats.
The seating at these shows was very particular. Sitting in the front row meant you were a VIP guest. Sitting in the back meant you were just an ordinary guest, or worse, a nobody whom no one would notice or pay attention to.
Naturally, the Sweeney mother and daughter had front-row seats.
After elegantly taking their seats, Madam Virginia placed her bag on her lap and exhaled deeply.
“I’ve set them up perfectly. Even if they don’t trip, just wait… hehe-” she laughed meaningfully.
“What’s wrong with the seats, Mom?” Cassandra sat beside her, placing her limited-edition Chanel bag conspicuously by her side so that everyone could see the brand.
“Look, they’re coming over. You’ll see soon enough.” Madam Virginia raised her eyebrows happily. “Oh dear, some people are about to be embarrassed again.”
She spoke loudly enough for the Hipps sisters to hear from afar.
Jaelynn smiled at her. “Really? Madam Virginia? Who’s going to be embarrassed?”
Her round face had a small dimple that made her look somewhat cute.
“I don’t know!” Madam Virginia feigned ignorance.
When she found out that the Hipps sisters and Sylvia had better seats than hers, she was furious.
Although they were all in the front row, Sylvia’s seats were in the prime position, while she and her daughter were at the end of the front row.
This blatant comparison was infuriating.
But… there would be a good show soon.
While Madam Virginia was feeling smug, Sylvia, Mollie, and Evie took their seats.
The Hipps sisters also sat down.
After the opening show, other brands began their runway shows.
Various models walked out in different outfits, strutting professionally down the runway.
Madam Virginia wasn’t paying attention to the models at all; her mind was entirely focused on Sylvia and her group.
Especially when she saw Mollie, the Hipps family’s daughter-in-law-haha-soon the entire Hipps family would be humiliated together, including the daughter-in-law.
The more she thought about it, the more excited she became. She realized she might have gotten too excited; she shouldn’t have drunk so much earlier.
She looked around; everyone was focused on the runway.
She whispered to Cassandra, “I need to go to the restroom. Be careful here.”
“I know, Mom.” Cassandra obediently replied, turning her attention back to the runway.
Madam Virginia put down her bag and tried to stand up but couldn’t.
She was stunned and tried again.
However, her skirt seemed glued to the chair, not moving an inch as if something had stuck it there.
Her face showed panic. What was going on?
She started tugging at her skirt with her hands, trying to separate it from the chair, but it wouldn’t budge.
In no time, she was sweating profusely from anxiety.
Cassandra noticed she hadn’t left and turned to look at her. “Mom, weren’t you going to the restroom? Why aren’t you going?”
Madam Virginia whispered angrily, “Try standing up yourself.”
“Oh come on, we’re watching a show! Why stand up? People will look at me.” Cassandra grumbled softly but tried to stand up anyway. She impatiently gave a strong pull.
As a result… she stood up, but with a ripping sound!
Her skirt tore!
A piece of fabric was stuck to the chair while her lower body was exposed, revealing her underwear to everyone.
Cassandra’s face turned green!
“Ah!”
She screamed so loudly it nearly lifted the roof off.
Even the models on stage were startled but continued walking professionally without stopping.
All eyes turned to Cassandra.
What they saw was shocking!
“Oh my God! Her butt is exposed.”
“What is she doing? Why is her dress stuck to the chair?”
“Her skirt is torn.”
People started whispering among themselves.
Madam Virginia almost fainted from anger at this scene.
Her face turned red with rage as she quickly covered Cassandra’s butt with her bag. “Damn it! We’ve been set up.”
“Mom… what is going on?” Cassandra was both ashamed and furious, almost in tears. She had never been so humiliated in her life.
Her butt and underwear were exposed for everyone to see.
How could she ever show her face at events again?
She was livid!
“I clearly put superglue on Sylvia’s seat, but somehow it’s on ours now.” Madam Virginia’s face was as dark as coal. “Let’s get out of here.”
“You can’t even stand up! Now I know why you couldn’t get up earlier; you were stuck. How can we leave if you can’t stand?” Cassandra was on the verge of breaking down. “Why did you come up with such a nasty trick?”
“How was I supposed to know they’d retaliate?” Madam Virginia regretted it deeply but wouldn’t let Sylvia off easily either.
She glared viciously at Sylvia and the Hipps sisters. “You went too far by putting glue on our chairs.”
Sylvia: “…”
She wasn’t taking the blame for this.
She had no idea about any glue!
Jaelynn and Maritza’s expressions varied but all had suppressed laughter in their eyes.
Mollie couldn’t stand anyone slandering Sylvia. As Sylvia’s aunt now, she felt obliged to protect her.
She retorted unceremoniously at Madam Virginia, “Don’t slander Sylvia. She would never stoop to such disgusting tricks. Sylvia is above such petty behavior.”
“Yeah, only someone like you would do something so vile,” Jaelynn added slowly.
“Exactly! Oh dear, I have a spare outfit. Do you want to borrow it?” Annika chimed in mischievously.
Maritza couldn’t help but mock as well. “Can’t stand up? Maybe you should call for help from the staff. If that doesn’t work, I can call the police for you and get some firefighters over.”
“Shut up! All of you shut up!” Cassandra screamed in rage. “Where are the staff? Help us already! What are you standing around for?”
At her shout, two male staff members finally came over. “Miss Sweeney, sorry but your mother’s pants might not make it.”
He held up an electric saw. “We might need to use this… to separate her from the chair before we can clean it.”
“My mom and I are in this state, and you’re worried about a chair? Is a chair more important than us? We are VIP guests!” Cassandra was shaking with anger.
“Oh miss… you’ve damaged our chair like this; our venue might hold you responsible. Everything here is custom-made and irreplaceable,” one staff member explained patiently. “Our legal department will contact you. You should leave now.”
“Ah! I’m so mad!” Cassandra was furious beyond belief.
But the staff had already started carefully sawing through Madam Virginia’s pants.
Madam Virginia was utterly devastated!
