“Then we’ll have a good show to watch.” Cassandra’s eyes sparkled with a hint of pride. “Great. Let’s wait and see.”
The mother and daughter waited maliciously to see the joke unfold.
Meanwhile, Jaelynn and her two sisters were looking around, occasionally chatting with other socialites or celebrities.
In such settings, socializing was essential.
Sylvia was a new face, but since she had been with Franklin at the presidential recognition banquet last time, many of the high-society ladies and business moguls in Aettosa knew who she was-the daughter of the Hipps family and the granddaughter of Old Mrs. Hipps.
Many people came over to greet her, especially since she was chatting with some high-level executives and designers from the X brand, making those curious about her even more intrigued.
A few ladies who had seen Sylvia at the mall last time were also present, whispering among themselves, “She is the chief designer of the X brand, very impressive.”
One lady, unfamiliar with Sylvia, looked surprised. “Oh my, really?”
“Of course, it’s true. She founded the X brand herself. Whether it’s jewelry or clothing, look at how well it sells. Many of the young ladies here today are wearing her designs.”
“That’s incredible. I heard she married the president’s son… They’ve been married for years in H Rovirsa. Now that the young master is the president’s son, do you think they’ll get divorced?”
Another gossiping lady joined in.
“No way. She’s from the Hipps family and has her own career. Although her family background is different from Lara’s… what if she’s the young master’s true love?”
“You all love to gossip. I heard the young master loves her very much. Lara’s advances were ignored by him. Do you think the oil tycoon will be angry about this?”
These people loved to discuss high-society gossip, finding comfort in it.
“Who knows!”
“I heard she can play the piano too. The oil tycoon’s brother, a piano master, is her teacher! Such complicated relationships…”
One lady covered her mouth and laughed lightly.
“I wanted to set her up with my son last time. She said she was married, and I didn’t believe it. Turns out it was true,” said another lady who had hoped Sylvia would become her daughter-in-law.
“By the way, where is Miss Kaur? If not Sylvia, then Miss Kaur would do!” another lady interjected.
Miss Kaur, whom they were talking about, was now walking towards Sylvia.
Carley wore a simple white jumpsuit that accentuated her tall and slender figure without losing any presence.
Her face was adorned with exquisite makeup, her beautiful features glowing under the lights. She wore matching high heels.
As soon as she entered the venue, she attracted a lot of attention.
After all, there were many high-end models on the runway, professional and eye-catching.
The young ladies and socialites dressed up as much as they could to stand out and become the most dazzling one in the crowd.
But no matter how dazzling they were, they couldn’t outshine Sylvia. She only needed to stand there to become a beautiful sight.
From afar, Carley saw Sylvia surrounded by designers. She wore a white sleeveless dress, elegant and dignified.
The simple design highlighted her outstanding temperament. The V-neck design was grand and tasteful.
The sleeveless dress made her look fresh and highlighted her delicate shoulders and slender arms.
She was already tall, and wearing a long dress made her look even taller and slimmer, naturally exuding a noble and elegant aura.
Sylvia’s shoulder-length hair was intellectual and gentle, mature yet charming. Her hair also showcased her neck and shoulder lines well, enhancing her overall elegance.
Carley couldn’t help but admire how beautiful Sylvia looked.
Some people were just born favored by God, like Sylvia.
Carley stood quietly on the side, watching Sylvia without disturbing her.
“Yes, our show will be arranged like this tomorrow. The show director must rehearse in advance. Our X brand’s show can’t lose to Gaia Legend today. Even though we belong to the same group, we can’t lose,” Sylvia’s voice was calm and cool.
“Today’s Gaia Legend was also designed and organized by you! Losing to yourself doesn’t count as losing!” a designer said with a smile.
“I want to surpass myself; is that not allowed?” Sylvia tapped the girl’s forehead lightly. “Hurry up, less talk, everyone get busy.”
After speaking, she inadvertently turned her head and saw Carley standing not far away. She was stunned for a moment before walking over.
“When did you get here? Why didn’t you say anything?”
Carley smiled and handed Sylvia a glass of red wine. “I saw you were busy, Designer X.”
“Flatterer.” Sylvia took the wine and sipped it lightly. “I want to introduce a friend to you; you’ll get along well.”
“What friend?” Carley blinked her big eyes suspiciously.
Sylvia smiled mysteriously and took her hand. “Come with me.”
Evie was chatting quietly with Jasper when she heard a familiar cool voice call out, “Evie.”
“Boss.” Evie jumped up from her seat, her cute face brightening up. “You look so beautiful!”
“You’re flattering me too much; you look great too.” Sylvia looked Evie up and down. The little girl wore a waist-fitted dress that showed off her slender white legs and black shoes that made her look cute yet elegant.
Just as Sylvia was about to introduce them, she suddenly heard a thud not far away followed by a familiar low cry.
“Ah-!”
The cry instantly drew everyone’s attention.
Everyone looked over to see Jaelynn in a high-end dress about to fall embarrassingly to the ground!
In that split second, a woman in a white dress dashed forward and did a neat backflip. Amazingly, even during the flip, her dress stayed perfectly in place!
Her slender white arm reached out and caught Jaelynn just before she hit the ground.
The most shocking part was that after catching Jaelynn, she spun around gracefully on the spot.
It was just like a scene from a movie where the hero saves the damsel in distress!
It was so fluid and beautiful!
Everyone stared in shock at this scene.
Someone started clapping first, and soon almost everyone joined in applause.
The sound of clapping filled the room instantly.
Sylvia quickly let go of Jaelynn. “Are you hurt?”
Jaelynn’s face was flushed as she looked at Sylvia’s beautiful face, her heart pounding wildly. She thought she was going to fall hard!
She shyly shook her head. “I’m fine, thank you.”
Sylvia looked at her feet. “How did you fall? Were your heels too high?”
“No, I just came out of the restroom when someone tripped me.” Jaelynn looked around angrily but couldn’t find anyone suspicious. “I don’t know if it was intentional or an accident. Luckily you were there.”
Otherwise, she would have been utterly humiliated.
“Be careful,” Sylvia nodded, feeling something wasn’t right.
The moment Sylvia caught Jaelynn was captured by some media present.
“That was amazing!”
“Who is she? So cool and beautiful!”
“I heard she’s the daughter of the Hipps family and the president’s son’s wife.”
“This heiress is extraordinary.”
The media praised Sylvia endlessly and posted close-ups of her on social media to gain attention.
Cassandra and her mother gritted their teeth in anger.
“How hateful is this woman?”
She could even do a backflip!
Did she think no one else practiced dance or could do a backflip?
Cassandra fumed. “Mom, we can’t let her get away with this!”
“Don’t worry; I’ve already found out where their seats are. Watch how I make them look ridiculous,” Madam Virginia reassured Cassandra despite being equally furious.
She smiled smugly. “Soon they’ll experience what it means to be socially dead.”
“Really?” Cassandra’s anticipation for the upcoming spectacle grew even stronger.
“Mom, look! They’re heading to the photo wall for pictures.” Cassandra had been observing the Hipps sisters’ movements closely and reported to Madam Virginia immediately.
“Relax; I’ve arranged everything there too,” Madam Virginia smiled confidently. “Just wait.”
Jaelynn and Maritza stood at the photo wall for pictures.
A dedicated photography team would take photos for guests attending the show.
A staff member walked over with a smile and said, “You have ten minutes for photos; feel free to pose as you like.”
“Ten minutes? That’s long,” Annika said in surprise since guests usually didn’t get such long photo sessions due to high attendance; three minutes was more typical.
“But here we can take photos for ten minutes?”
“I want some solo shots first, then group ones,” Jaelynn said without thinking much and started posing immediately.
Annika and Maritza had similar thoughts.
However… after five minutes of standing there, they still hadn’t finished taking photos.
Some waiting guests began murmuring discontentedly, “Have they never taken photos before?”
