If they bought such expensive clothes again, what would Sylvia think? Would she consider the three sisters too extravagant?
If they reported it to their grandmother… or if there was no money left on the card their grandmother gave them…
Wouldn’t it be the entire Hipps family that would be embarrassed?
Jaelynn was furious with Cassandra.
This woman was nothing but trouble.
Cassandra and Jaelynn were high school classmates, always at each other’s throats. Cassandra loved to compete with Jaelynn in everything: food, clothes, family background, and even suitors.
Jaelynn absolutely loathed her, and Cassandra felt the same.
Later, the relationship between the Sweeney and Hipps families deteriorated further, becoming well-known enemies.
So, these two girls became even more hostile towards each other.
The other sisters of the Hipps family were aware of their mutual dislike, which eventually turned into a shared hatred among them.
Whenever they met, it was like a battlefield.
They would mock and disdain each other, making sure no one had a good time.
Seeing them silent, Cassandra spoke again with a condescending tone, “What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you wanted to buy something? Which one do you like? Let me help you choose. Or should I buy one too?”
This was practically forcing them to spend money on the spot.
They were in a dilemma: buying would cost money, not buying would be humiliating.
Given Cassandra’s personality, she would definitely tell everyone if they didn’t buy anything. Then the whole world would know.
Just as Jaelynn and Maritza were at a loss, Madam Virginia laughed and said, “Oh dear, maybe they don’t have enough money! After all, the Hipps family isn’t what it used to be. How can they afford such expensive clothes without enough pocket money? How about I buy you one instead? Which one do you like?”
This was blatant humiliation.
“We often shop at this brand. Let them buy first; we’re not in a hurry,” Cassandra said smugly, glancing at Jaelynn and Maritza.
Maritza’s face turned even more unpleasant.
Sylvia’s cold gaze fell on Cassandra and Madam Virginia’s smug faces. She couldn’t help but feel speechless. These people were like clowns, always causing trouble and never doing anything good.
But she loved making these troublemakers quiet.
So, she casually glanced at the bewildered sales assistant, “Take this one down for me. And this one, and another one. The last one is mine.”
She pointed to four dresses in one breath, all of which were new season items.
After keeping one for herself, she had the sales assistant deliver the remaining three to Jaelynn and her sisters.
Jaelynn was shocked, her mouth agape. “Sylvia, you…”
How did she know she liked this dress? It suited her perfectly.
And she was even more shocked to find that the other two dresses Sylvia picked were exactly what Maritza and Annika liked.
What an eye for detail!
“Are you going to buy them?” Maritza felt dizzy, her mind exploding like fireworks.
Annika swallowed hard. “These dresses are so expensive. Four of them… almost four or five million dollars.”
Spending four or five million on four dresses was too extravagant.
Her hands trembled as she held the dress.
If she really got this dress, she wouldn’t dare wear it. She’d keep it in her wardrobe to admire every day.
“It’s just a dress. What’s the big deal?” Sylvia smiled, her stunningly beautiful face dazzling everyone.
Cassandra seemed to notice her for the first time, her eyes widening in disbelief. “Who are you?”
She had been focused on Jaelynn and her sisters, drawing their attention and firepower.
She hadn’t noticed such a breathtakingly beautiful woman.
Too beautiful!
Those almond-shaped eyes were like clear springs.
Those rosy lips were as tempting as cherry blossoms.
Such a beautiful woman… Which family did she belong to? How come she had never heard of such a beauty in the capital?
“This is Sylvia, the legitimate daughter of the Hipps family,” Maritza said, raising her chin. She couldn’t care less about how much she used to dislike Sylvia.
Using a solemn tone, she introduced Sylvia, “She’s my grandmother’s biological granddaughter.”
Hearing Maritza’s words, Cassandra almost laughed out loud. She covered her mouth and sneered sarcastically.
“Hah-are you kidding me? Wasn’t it last year that your Hipps family had a scandal about bringing back a fake daughter? So now this is the real daughter? Could this one be fake too?”
Madam Virginia also glanced at Sylvia. “With such good looks, how could she be a fraud? I advise you, if you’re fake, pack up and leave quickly. Otherwise, you’ll be kicked out of the Hipps family in disgrace.”
They were convinced that Sylvia was also an imposter.
They couldn’t help but mock her without any mercy.
Sylvia sneered coldly, ignoring these foolish women.
She picked out four more dresses. “I want all these four dresses too. Charge my card.”
The sales assistant quickly took Sylvia’s card along with her membership card. She respectfully said to Sylvia, “You are an esteemed member, so all eight dresses will be 20% off. The total is 8. 8 million dollars; with the discount, it’s 7. 04 million dollars.”
As she swiped the card, she looked at Sylvia with some concern. “Are you sure you want to charge this card? This can…”
“Haha! Could it be that there’s no money on her card?” Cassandra couldn’t help but question the sales assistant.
Sylvia smiled slightly and said to the sales assistant, “Go ahead.”
The sales assistant looked at the card number that everyone in their company knew by heart… Card number 002. Wasn’t that the card of their company’s vice president? So this lady was their vice president Sylvia?
Her heart pounded as she held the card with trembling hands.
She was honored to serve Vice President Andrews… She felt dizzy.
Swallowing hard, she still swiped Sylvia’s card. “Please keep your membership card and bank card.”
Madam Virginia seemed to wake up from a dream and screamed, “You’re a member?”
As far as she knew, there were fewer than a hundred people worldwide who could get an 80% discount from this brand!
At least fifty million dollars had to be spent to get their membership card. And even then, it would only be a silver membership with a 10% discount. To get an 80% discount required spending over seventy million dollars… to get a gold membership card.
This…
This woman was so wealthy?
Impossible!
The sales assistant must have made a mistake.
“Mom, what’s so special about being a member?” Cassandra asked, puzzled by Madam Virginia’s reaction. “Isn’t it just a membership?”
“Our brand’s top gold members number fewer than a hundred worldwide. Miss Andrews’ membership card is numbered 002. So… she’s…” The sales assistant began but was interrupted by Sylvia. “Please pack all the dresses and send them to the Hipps Residence.”
“Yes, right away.” The sales assistant hurried to prepare the gift boxes.
“Mom… I want to buy too! You have to buy me one! I want this one and this one; I want both!” Cassandra trembled with anger but didn’t want to lose face.
She didn’t have a membership card but could afford it.
It’s just two dresses!
Madam Virginia wasn’t one to back down either; for the sake of face, she had to buy her daughter some dresses.
So she immediately swiped her card to buy two dresses for Cassandra.
Jaelynn chuckled and said, “Madam Virginia, aren’t you going to buy yourself some dresses? We each have two new ones!”
Women love comparing bags, shoes, clothes, and cosmetics.
Madam Virginia’s face turned pale with anger but for the sake of face…
She had spent all her pocket money on Cassandra just now. If she bought more… she wouldn’t have enough money!
But if she didn’t buy them, it would be too embarrassing.
So she quickly messaged her husband on Facebook: “Honey, please transfer me two million dollars quickly; I need it urgently.”
Her husband worked as an executive at Sweeney Group.
The Sweeney Group was mainly controlled by twin brothers Tristan and Marcelo now.
So her husband could only be an executive at best.
He had some side income though.
Uncle Ling didn’t think much of it and thought his wife was in some trouble. He quickly transferred two million dollars to her.
Only then did Madam Virginia proudly pick out two dresses for herself.
After choosing them, she said grandly, “Send these four dresses to the Sweeney family estate.”
Sylvia gave Madam Virginia an unreadable look before saying to the sales assistant, “Since we are old friends with the Sweeney family, it’s only fair to give Madam Virginia and Miss Cassandra a discount. Give them a 10% discount.”
Cassandra gritted her teeth and barely managed to keep her composure as she said, “Who do you think you are? How can you instruct the sales assistant to give us a discount? You’re just a daughter of the Hipps family; how could you make them give us a discount? Do you think you’re an executive of this brand?”
After saying that, she pretended to elegantly flip her hair. “We can afford it.”
“You may not know this, but this lady is Miss Andrews from our brand,” the sales assistant quickly said. She had wanted to say this earlier but felt Sylvia didn’t want her to…
Now she could finally say it; she’d been holding it in for too long.
“What did you say?” Cassandra screamed in shock; her makeup almost fell off from surprise; she nearly bit off her lipstick.
She could no longer maintain her elegant demeanor.
