Just as Tom spoke vigorously, he snorted and instantly turned quiet! With a look of disbelief, his eyes widened, his hands became relaxed, and he loosened up.
Clare immediately pulled off the chain, stepped backward, and stayed away.
Tom had a knife pierced through his abdomen. He could clearly see the knife plunging through his chest, all the while the blood was constantly flowing out.
“How can…” Tom was too weak to speak. Clare pretended to open the lock for him, but she actually planned to kill him.
“Tom, do you really think I’m that naive? Did you believe that I was actually going to let you go? ” Clare stood arrogantly the corner while she watched his body shaking.
“Ah, how wonderful!” Saxon’s voice came again, “Clare, I was right about you. Once Tom dies, I’ll let you out.”
Saxon’s announcement was only to give Clare a chance to get into the basement.
At that moment, he was in front of the desk on the upper floor, crossing his long legs. His long fingers tapped on the screen of his mobile phone until it finally landed on Veronica Parker’s mobile phone number.
If he started calling Veronica often, how would this woman feel?
He dialed the number and it rang for almost five seconds before it was answered. However, no one spoke.
Saxon didn’t speak either and only hung up the phone.
On the other end of the line, Nick Cage stared at the strange mobile phone number and raised his black eyes with deep concern.
He pressed the call back, but it didn’t answer back.
Who was it?
Nick immediately thought of the last person who was called Veronica. It was a call from Sea View Villas.
He found out that the earlier call was not a random misdial. The two calls both came from the same phone number, so Nick wanted to make sure that Veronica knew this person!
Nick took out his cell phone and called Kay. He asked them to check the number out.
A few minutes later, Kay called back and said, “It’s just an unknown number. I can’t check anything about it.”
Nick’s face turned cold and horrible.
What now? Was Veronica hiding such a secret behind his back?
After taking a bath, Veronica entered the room and saw the gloomy Nick, standing by the door, subconsciously worried.
She also saw Nick holding her cell phone in his hand.
Was there anything wrong with her phone?
“Are you nervous?” Nick’s voice was normal and moderate. But the more that he acted too normal, the more it seemed dangerous!
Veronica’s perfectly-shaped brow frowned slightly, and the blush on her small face after taking a bath had dissipated because of nervousness. She wondered, “What’s the matter with you?”
Nick handed her the phone. “Someone’s looking for you.”
Veronica took it with some doubt, thinking: who would have called her and made Nick feel like this?
She opened the phone log and saw a strange number she answered while she was in the shower. She didn’t have to ask to know that it was answered by Nick.
“Who is it?” Nick’s voice has no temperature.
“How should I know? Didn’t you answer it?” Veronica was annoyed by his arrogant tone.
“Well, he didn’t say anything.”
Veronica couldn’t understand him even more and said, “What do I care if he doesn’t talk? I don’t know.” With that, she walked towards the bed.
Nick froze in his spot His fists clenched and his veins showed up against his skin.
Veronica sat nervously on the edge of the bed, bowing her head and playing with her cell phone. The heavy tension in the air could not be ignored, as if a fight was coming at any time!
Just when she thought Nick was going to burst, he turned around and went out.
Nick didn’t leave the apartment. He just went into the bathroom.
Veronica heard the bathroom door close with a bang.
This man had a really arrogant character!
Veronica opened the phone record again. It was really strange. Who was it? Was it Saxon?
Why was he looking for her? There was no need for them to contact each other, was there?
He looked at the callback record. Didn’t Nick get through with the call?
Veronica called back again. It rang a few times, got through, and asked, “Hello, did you just call me?”
“Excuse me, I think I have the wrong number.” The voice of a strange man came, but it was surely not Saxon.
Veronica hung up the phone. It was indeed a wrong phone call. Nick was too possessive of her that he started thinking nonsense.
His men returned the phone to Saxon. Saxon stared at the two numbers that called back with a worried look on his face.
When night came, Veronica put her phone gently on the desk next to them and got ready to go to bed.
Nick, who his tantrums in the living room, entered the room, went to bed and looked at Veronica lying next to him. His strong body was close to her, hugging her back
Veronica closed her eyes and didn’t move. No matter what posture she did, she couldn’t escape his control.
But she was nervous, and her heartbeat was even more unstable.
Nick slept here for days without touching her, just holding her until she fell asleep.
Veronica didn’t understand what he wanted from her.
This feeling only made her more nervous, for she couldn’t figure out Nick’s mind.
Just as Veronica tried to put herself to sleep, the mobile phone on the desk started ringing. It was an incoming call from someone.
Veronica raised her hand to get the phone and saw the same number. Why was the same person calling her again?
She was about to answer it when the other line hung up suddenly.
She thought that the person must have dialed the wrong number again. She had decided to mute her phone and put it again on the desk.
When she finally put it back, she heard Nick asked, “Why didn’t you answer the phone?” His tone was so cold that she could feel his anger. The room almost became an ice cellar.
Veronica was startled, turned around, and gazed into Nick’s dark and infuriated eyes. “I was about to answer it, but the other line hung up.”
“Then what are you doing?” Nick’s patience got out of hand with his suspicions!
“I’m muting it!” Veronica was getting annoyed with Nick! “If you are not in the mood to sleep together anymore, I can get up and get out of bed.”
However, as soon as she got up, she was pulled hard by Nick.
“Hey, stop!” Veronica fell on the bed. Her shadow disappeared and Nick’s grim face came close to her small face. “Nick, what are you doing? ”
“Tell me, whose phone is it?”
“I don’t know. I called before. It was a stranger. They just dialed the wrong number!” Veronica’s angrily explained.
“Why is it an empty number when I called? Can you explain that?”
“Empty number? I don’t know.”
“You don’t know or you don’t want to talk?”
“Nick, you don’t understand me.” Veronica tried to push him away, but his hands were pressed against her head.
Nick had so much strength in one hand that he strangled her wrists.
“Was it good for you to take a bath without me touching you?” Nick’s black eyes squinted slightly. He seemed terrible!
“Stop. Don’t touch me! ” Veronica was so excited that she clenched her teeth and rebelled.
“Tell me who that man is, and I’ll give you a break.”
“There is really no one! Nick, you’re crazy! ” Before Veronica had time to finish her words, her pajamas were torn off, revealing her snow-white shoulders.
“It just so happens that I’ve had a hard time lately. So you can’t say anything anymore,” Nick said and leaned down on my face.
“No, stop!” Veronica turned away and resisted him.
It’s just that Nick could not manage to resist her anymore. He pinched her little face and swallowed her open mouth.
They both started moaning.
Veronica felt her lips and tongue hurt. Her eyes burst into tears.
Under his strength, she was like prey without any help. She could no longer move her own body, and that was when she was bitten in the neck.
