She was so surprised that she forgot that Tom Parker had killed Sarah North.
“Surprised, aren’t you? Do you know who did it?”
Clare reacted and didn’t believe it. “It’s impossible. Why would, Saxon Raglan keep you here?”
“Why not him? We thought of him as too simple. He didn’t want to help me at all, but he deliberately led me here to avenge his father.”
“Did you kill his father?” Clare asked. Seeing that Tom did not answer, he understood, “Don’t I deserve this?” And he killed my mother. There’s nothing wrong with that!”
She also put in the right word for Saxon, thinking that Saxon was also avenging her mother.
Tom looked at her with a sneer. “Yes, who else can you hold on to if you don’t hold Saxon, tightly at this time?” But do you think he’ll be nice to you? How did you get in here? Saxon is very thoughtful. Why did he let you in? ”
Then the door slammed shut.
Clare came to her senses and hurried to open the door. However, the door that was opened easily could not be opened now. It’s like being welded to death.
Tom looked back and laughed.
“What are you laughing at?” Clare is angry and scared.
Tom stopped laughing and looked at her. “Laugh that you are just like me. You can’t get out!” Maybe he will take off his clothes and get beaten like me.”
Clare looked at the awkward and miserable Tom, shivering.
She doesn’t want to be locked up here. Saxon wouldn’t do that to her. She’s his wife-to-be. The wind must have carried this door. Slap the door hard. “Is there anyone out there? Open the door. I’m in there!”
“Stop screaming. No one will let you go.”
“How can I be the same as you? Saxon and I are getting married. There was no one when I came in. He must not have heard me. When Saxon can’t find you, he will come here to see me. And you, you’re not going out for the rest of your life.” Clare tried to be calm and arrogant.
“Then, I’ll wait!”
Clare chose the farthest place from Tom to stay.
She found no windows, no sky outside, and no clock to count the time.
She can only guess.
Clare became more and more panicked as she waited until she lost her patience. She stood up and knocked on the door again. Before it was knocked, there was a sound out of thin air.
“Don’t knock.”
Clare is delighted. It’s Saxon. All she hears is his voice, but she doesn’t know whether it’s true.
“Saxon, I’m in the basement. The door won’t open. Let me out.”
“Go out? I think it’s right for you to stay there. ” Saxon said.
“What? What do you mean? ” Clare panicked.
“It’s easy to get in, but difficult to get out.”
Clare looked around the wall again, as if to find out Saxon’s shadow. “Saxon, are you kidding me?” It’s not funny. You said during the day that you would marry me. ”
“Did I say that?” Saxon can’t remember.
Clare opened her mouth but could not make a sound.
He didn’t say anything like marrying her, and he just said he wouldn’t let her down. He doesn’t seem to have said anything about marrying her from beginning to end.
“Did you lead me here on purpose?” Clare realized this and asked. She didn’t hear Saxon’s reply, “You never thought about marrying me?”
“It’s okay to say you’re smart and stupid.” The faint voice of Saxon came.
“Oh no. I can’t! I’m not staying here! Let me out!” Clare slammed the door and pulled the doorknob, but it wouldn’t open.
Saxon’s relaxed voice came. “I’ve changed my mind. It’s no longer fun to fight with a helpless dog. You can fight with weapons to level the playing field. Just take a pick. Fight each other to death, and the one who ends up alive can leave.”
“What are you talking about?” Clare couldn’t believe what she was saying.
Tom also thought that this was way too sick!
However, this was nothing new to Tom. It was not difficult for him to kill Clare, right after killing Sarah North.
“I’ll suffer if you lock me up like this!” Tom pleaded.
Clare was surprised by what Tom said. It just meant that he agreed with the duel!
She couldn’t help but step back and stay away from that insane man!
Saxon’s voice came once again. He said, “There is a difference of ability between men and women! So it is only fair that I lock you up. Clare, do you want to be easily killed by him?”
Clare certainly didn’t want to, but she didn’t even want to fight him in the first place!
She has never killed anyone!
“I want someone to die in thirty minutes. If you both run out of time, I’ll fill the chamber with gas and kill you both.”
Clare, anxious and nervous, angrily asked, “Saxon, why are you doing this to me? What have I ever done to you? Even if I looked down on you before, you can’t make me do this! You can’t make me die!”
There was only silence. He didn’t respond to her.
“Saxon! Saxon, talk to me!”
“Let’s go! Let’s fight now!” Tom said confidently.
Clare looked at him coldly. “You’re chained. Are you sure that I’m the one who will die? Or do you think I would not dare to kill you? I can kill you just to avenge my mother!”
“Fine! Then do it!” Tom challenged her. “Anyway, one of us is going to die here. It’s either you or me. At least, let’s start now and find out who can fight for their life.”
Tom was only chained in his neck, and his hands and legs were still both free.
The iron chain was about one meter.
As Saxon said, the fight was fair.
After all, Clare was a woman, and if Tom had no chains, Clare wouldn’t even have a chance to make a move against him.
“I believe we don’t have to fight,” Clare bravely said. “As long as we work together, we can still go out of here alive.”
“How can I get out like this?” Tom asked.
“There must be a key here. Let me find it for you.” Clare rummaged through the knives on the desk for the keys and earnestly looked for them inside the drawers.
Tom watched the naive and hopeful Clare, with a sneer. It was hopeless anyway. Even if both of them ran out, Saxon would still kill them because they didn’t obey the rules.
So only one can truly live between them!
“I’ve found it! Here is the key!” Clare said excitedly.
Was Saxon really that stupid to leave the key here? Tom certainly won’t ask him this.
Clare looked at Tom, and asked defensively, “I’ll open the lock for you. But you have to promise that you won’t attack me. Can you?”
“Of course not! We can go out together and get out of here alive. There’s nothing Saxon can do against us!” Tom said.
Clare held the key and approached Tom nervously.
She squatted down in front of him and inserted the key to the hole in the iron ring.
How could Tom miss this opportunity of attacking her? Regardless of how Clare once called Tom her father, they were still in a fight. Right, when she wasn’t paying attention, his chain was wrapped around her neck and he tightened it until she couldn’t breathe well.
“Hey, stop! ” Clare dropped the key and struggled to pull the chain off her neck.
But her strength was no match for Tom, a grown man!
“You truly are so naive, aren’t you? Do you really think two people can go out? Didn’t you hear what Saxon said? Only one can go out alive.” Tom had a vicious look on his face. “Do you know how your mother died? That’s how I strangled her, with her eyes open! I watched her as she died! But it doesn’t matter. You will be able to see her soon, anyway!”
