“Maybe my life is superfluous.”
“You mustn’t think so!” Tracy said. “Everyone’s existence has a value!”
Veronica looked blank and said, “I thought so when I was a teenager. I was hurt by Tom and it felt very painful. I thought it was normal. After all, my friends would also be beaten by their parents. One day, I saw my beaten partner being cared for by my parents. It was the warmth of my family that I had never had before. All of a sudden, I am superfluous, uncared about. I am always thinking about that after growing up, through my own efforts, positive and optimistic, I will be happy. But now, I feel like I’m still superfluous. I don’t even know what my value is.”

Veronica felt tears in her eyes and tried to hold back tears.
Tracy said, “There is always a solution to every problem. A solution much better than scarring yourself now, right?”
“Do you want me to stay with him all the time?” Veronica asked with a lump in her throat.
Tracy sighed. “In the final analysis, there is always a shadow in Nick’s mind.”
“Does he come to torture me if he has a psychological shadow?” Veronica asked resentfully. “He still thinks I’m greedy. If that’s the case, why does he still cling to me? Why will he not let me go far away?”
“I know. But as a doctor, the first thing I think about is your health. With Nick Cage’s obsession, he can’t let you go. Do you really want to go on in such a life that is worse than death?”
Veronica closed her eyes in despair.
It was easy to live and it was easy to die. It was hurting her that life was worse than death.
She didn’t know what to do! She couldn’t fight the devil Nick at all!
Even Tracy could see that Nick would not let her go. She was living a life that was worse than death.
But Tracy couldn’t help her, no one could help her.
“Get some sleep, wake up, figure it out and you’ll be fine.” Tracy comforted her.
Veronica closed her eyes, how would she figure it out?
She and Nick would never go back to the way they were before. She wouldn’t be so stupid to be his plaything.
It wasn’t long before Veronica fell asleep.
When she woke up the next day, the needle in her hand was pulled out.
Tracy was not there. Nick was sitting on the sofa in the room with his forehead in one hand and his eyes closed. She didn’t know when he came there.
For Veronica, she would rather see Tracy than Nick.
He was the devil!
Veronica sat up, lifted the quilt, and got out of bed.
She landed on her feet and tried to stand up but her head was dizzy, her eyes were black and he4 body was about to fall.
Then, with a firm embrace, he put his arms around her.
Veronica didn’t have to look at his face to know who it was. She struggled, resisted and with a choking voice she said, “Let me go, don’t touch me.”
Nick said nothing and didn’t let her go. He guided her into the bathroom and sat her on the toilet. He didn’t get up and stared at her face. “Why can’t you be obedient? Huh?”
“Why should I listen to you? What kind of person are you to me?” When Veronica said this, he almost trembled with clenched teeth.
Nick’s black eyes stared at her with unfathomable danger, “You are my woman!”
“I’m rather with someone else than with you!”
Nick’s facial lines tightened vaguely. “You really know how to provoke me!”
Veronica had an uneasy look on her face and she leaned back subconsciously.
She was not well yet and if she would be tortured by Nick Cage again, she knew she would not die but she was afraid to think of the pain that was getting worse.
Not only on her body but also her soul.
“All right, call me.” After a moment of forbearance, Nick said in a low voice, got up, and left the bathroom.
Veronica let her guard down a little bit.
At that moment, she thought that Nick would hit her. She could feel Nick’s taut body and the strength that was ready to go!
Veronica stood up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a soft silk nightgown on her slender body, outlining her weak posture.
The red marks on the neckline were so shocking that she could imagine what was inside without opening her pajamas.
She believed that if she continued to work against Nick, she really couldn’t get out of this luxurious Sea View Villa.
But why does it matter if she can’t get out?
Nick would control her wherever she went anyway.
Veronica was carried back to bed by Nick and the maid brought the food.
Nick took it and the maid stood aside.
Veronica watched him as he held the spoon near her mouth. She wanted to resist and she wanted to throw the bowl in Nick’s hand directly. She wanted to slap him in the face!
In the end, however, she did not do so and five minutes after Nick patiently held the spoon, Veronica finally opened her mouth.
Was Nick only allowed to hurt her? On the other hand, she could also do that.
Without eating much, Veronica turned away.
Nick saw that she was obedient, said nothing, and left the room.
He didn’t leave Sea View Villa.
Instead, he went to the office on the first floor.
But Veronica thought Nick had left Sea View Villa.
In the morning Tracy Dora came to check her and said, “You’re much better.”
Veronica leaned lazily and said, “Thank you! Physical recovery is easy but is there any good medicine for the heart?”
“Heart disease needs cardiac medicine and it needs self-treatment,” Tracy said.
Veronica looked away and murmured, “Also, if you could cure Nick Cage, he would be a normal person.”
Tracy was somewhat speechless.
After all, she knew exactly what kind of person Nick was. He would be the most serious patient in the world!
