Nick threw away his phone and turned to the bathroom. He opened the shower and let the water drops drench on his body, it was sliding over his clear texture lines.
Nick’s hands pass through his black hair, it was making his facial features more three-dimensional and colder, but his eyes were deep and terrible!
He wondered why he couldn’t watch the surveillance. He was afraid, but he doesn’t know what for. He wondered if he was just afraid of seeing pictures that he can’t control.
She’s obviously acting strange these days, Nick wondered if it was because of Toby. He thought, ‘When did they get in touch? How many times did Veronica contact him behind my back?’ He was very upset about not being able to control everything about Veronica.
Veronica woke up in the morning and was alone in bed. This was the first time after she went living in Winter Villa that she woke up alone. She was used to waking up in Nick’s arms.
Veronica closed her eyes and shrugged her thoughts off. She didn’t like the overbearing sleep posture of Nick very much before, but once she let it go, she was not used to it. The habit was a terrible thing.
Veronica sat up from the bed and felt a little sour and tired around her waist. Strangely, she didn’t do anything with Nick last night. She wondered how could she be uncomfortable.
Recently, it’s easy for her to get tired. She doesn’t know what’s going on. She’s afraid she was pissed off by Nick. Veronica didn’t think so much. She lifted the blanket and got up.
It’s a little early to go downstairs after washing. But for the energetic six, it’s a little late.
No sooner had Veronica entered the hall, she heard a noise in the study.
She followed the sound and she saw the six small humans were playing in Nick’s study room. They made a mess in the room, a place of information. Veronica was dumbfounded.
Peter was sitting in Nick’s office chair, he was drawing around on some unknown document with a pen.
Julie was lying on his desk with a stroke.
Daniel and Cathy were crawling around on the sofa, and Daniel accidentally rolled off the sofa!
Lily and Josh, they were playing with the water in the cup, which makes the materials on the ground wet, and there are all kinds of seals covered by small feet, which must have been stepped on by them.
She didn’t see Nick, he must not up yet. Only the servant and Bob, who were not strictly stopped nearby.
Veronica helplessly thought, ‘You are useless!’
“Stop messing around in Daddy’s study room. Get out of here!” As soon as Veronica opened her mouth, the six little ones were immediately attracted to her and saw that their Mom’s eyes were shining like stars.

Peter hurriedly put down his work and ran to Veronica and jumped directly into Veronica’s arms. Veronica was so scared that she hugged him.

Looking at the soft and cute baby, Veronica on her legs, she didn’t mean to be critical!
Cathy looked up with his little head and his eyes were full of Mom’s light. “Mom, when did you get back? Why we don’t know that you came home?”
Veronica was so cute that she said, “You guys are already at rest when Mommy came home.”
Lily said hurriedly, “Then we won’t sleep anymore. We won’t sleep until our Mommy comes back.”
Veronica said hurriedly, “You can’t do that. You need to sleep early! Don’t worry, as soon as you wake up, you can see me, right?”
Six pairs of big eyes looked at Veronica as if she was right. They thought that their mother was right about everything.
“All right, go out in this room, first. Mom will clean up the place.” Veronica said to Bob, “Take them out, please.”
“I’ll take care of the mess, Miss Parker.” Bob wouldn’t dare to let Veronica clean up this mess alone.
“it’s nothing. It is really such a mess with the kids, I’m used to it.” Veronica answered.
“It must be really hard for you to take care of six children,” Bob said.
“It’s not that hard for your own children. I’ll do everything for them.”
“All right.” Bob went out.
Veronica looked at the spilled data and the open drawers.
Each drawer was open not because the kids were looking for something in it, but because Julie needs to step on the drawer when she climbed to the desk.
As a mother, Veronica can understand it immediately.
Nick’s study room was not accessible to anyone, but it was made like this by Peter.
If Nick comes in and saw all the mess, Veronica was afraid that Peter would encounter it as long as it happened. Nick would take people out directly and show no mercy.
Veronica squatted down to pick up the data on the ground. Some of them are covered with small footprints, which can only be wiped off a little bit. She doesn’t know if it is important.
Veronica tidies it up and put it on the desk and then sort out the information in the drawer. She was stunned when she sorted out the bottom drawer.
She saw a piece of ‘Chloe Bowen” information sandwiched among the scattered documents. She knew she shouldn’t peek, but right in front of her, it was about Chloe Bowen, and she couldn’t help but look at it.
Veronica looks at the room to see that no one was outside of the study, she squatted down and took out the piece of paper. She found out that the following pieces of paper were all about Chloe Bowen.
When Veronica saw the contents, she was surprised. It was not only evidence of an affair between Chloe Bowen and Eden Cage, but also a copy of John Cage’s paternity test.
Veronica stared in disbelief. She now understands why Nick let Chloe Bowen give birth to the Cage family’s baby. It turns out that there was still such a relationship.
Veronica flipped through it quickly and then stuffed the files back into place. She tidies up the drawers and walks out of the study.
As soon as she got out of the study, she saw Nick and she was so scared that she was stunned. Nick’s deep eyes stared at her quietly.
Veronica responded and said, “Peter and the kids messed up your study. I was just tidying up! You should go and have a look, some materials have been stepped on footprints, and some have been painted, I do not know whether it is important or not. I’m going to check on the kids.”
With that, Veronica walked past Nick with a burst of guilt in her heart. Anyway, she would act like she didn’t saw the information.
Nick, Veronica, and six lovely kids were at the breakfast table. They were a picture of happiness and harmony. But Veronica knew it was just a facade.
They send the six little kids to school together after breakfast, like it was all the same as before. Even when Veronica went to the TV station, she went with Nick.
Veronica wondered if it was impossible that Nick’s car was parked there, with the door opened, and she would take a cab going to the TV station. She didn’t felt the need to make a comeback over such a trifle at the school gate again.
She spoke to Nick at the door of the study this morning, and there has been no communication between them since then.
It was silent all the way to the TV station.
Rolls-Royce drove steadily on the private road. Veronica sat by the window. She was looking outside of the window without thinking about what to say.
In her mind, she thought of the information she inadvertently saw in the study room. She wondered when did that data exist, she wondered if it was the day when Nick was exposed. She thought that things like these must not leak.
In these thoughts, Veronica talked to herself and said, ‘Why is it not exposed now? What is Nick waiting for? Is he waiting for Eden Cage to wake up? Or is the information not complete? Maybe the means to deal with Chloe Bowen were not ruthless enough.’
