When Veronica Parker came back, she would look at the files on Tom Parker’s computer. If she deleted the video, she wouldn’t be threatened by Tom Parker anymore.
The premiere started and Veronica Parker knew that the ratings will not be bad at all. This was her first time hosting the program. She knew that the results of her first show would be good but still, it is impossible for her not to feel nervous.
“Oh, my God! The ratings are so good, aren’t they? It’s even better than the first phase!” Lucy Underwood jumped on her feet excitedly as she shouted beside Veronica Parker.
“Keep your calm, Lucy,” Veronica Parker said as they were surrounded by onlookers.
“I’ll try!” Lucy Underwood clenched her fist and zipped her mouth.
Veronica Parker’s eyes fell on the screen and she smiled as she saw how the numbers went higher. She had been standing there for more than half an hour. The more she watched the monitor the more excited she felt.
The director of the stage smiled from ear to ear with delight.
The ratings showed that the second season was also a success, even more, successful than the first season.
Veronica Parker watched her body movements and expressions on the screen. She exudes calmness and professionalism. She was the only one who knew how nervous she was at the beginning of the recording and it wasn’t until later that she got used to it.
It was almost 08:00 at night and the six little ones were still playing at the playground in Winter Villa.
Bob clapped his hands and said, “It’s late already. Shall we go back to your room and rest? Even if you all will not go to school tomorrow, you still need to rest.”
The six little ones pretended that they didn’t hear Bob
Peter ran around the ground area and his head turned from left to right but he didn’t find the person he was looking for.
Bob asked, “What’s the matter? Who are you looking for? ”
“Daddy!” Peter said. He then asked, “Why doesn’t Daddy play with us anymore? I want to play with Daddy! ”
With that, he turned around and ran around the playground.
The other five threw away their paintbrushes and toys then they ran after Peter.
Bob had a kind look on his face. He turned his head to the mansion behind him, he was afraid that Nick Cage would be angry if they stayed longer at the playground. But he didn’t have the heart to stop the children from having fun.
After some time he finally convinced the children to go back inside the house.
His eyes grew wide as he saw the six little ones ran towards Nick Cage’s study.
“Daddy!”
The moment of peace inside the study was suddenly interrupted as the children entered the room. Nick Cage furrowed his eyebrows.
Peter who looked giddy climbed up Nick Cage’s thigh and he sat on his lap.
As soon he climbed up, he saw the program on the computer in front of him and his big eyes suddenly lit up, “Mom!”
The five little ones around them also saw the screen.
“Mom is on the screen!”
“That’s Mom!”
“I want Mom!”
“I miss Mom!”
“I see Mom!” Daniel’s little face was excited.
Nick Cage snapped the computer shut.
“Daddy! Why don’t you let us see Mom? Daddy, you’re a bad guy! I don’t like you anymore!” Peter cried.
Nick Cage looked at him and said, “Shut up!”
The six little ones howled together and the whole study was filled with the cries of children.
Their cries made Nick Cage’s head hurt which made him irritated.
He decided to turn on the computer and he pressed the play button.
The study suddenly became quiet, the only sound they heard was the gentle and sweet voice of Veronica Parker in the video program. Six bright eyes stared at the monitor and nobody even dared to blink.
“Mom!” Daniel snapped his fingers excitedly.
“Mom,” Josh was tearful.
Peter is sitting on Nick Cage’s lap and the other five kids also wanted to look closer at their mom so they all climb on Nick Cage’s lap.
While they all climbed, some of them started to roll down.
Nick Cage step aside for a bit and he moved the laptop to one of the coffee tables where there was a nearby sofa. He carried each one of them so they could sit comfortably with him. His long arms gathered them in a side hug and the six little ones stared at their mom.
Their little eyes were tearful as they watched their mom in awe.
As soon as the show was over, Nick cage turned off the screen but the six little ones were not ready to leave yet.
“Why is Mom on TV?” Cathy said and she looked like she was going to cry.
“Mom, come out,” Lily pleaded as she looked at the black screen.
“I badly want to see Mom,” Julie said. Meanwhile, Josh was looking more anxious.
“Mom,” Daniel said sadly.
“Don’t cry. Come on, it’s rest time,” Nick Cage said in an irritated manner.
Peter suddenly shouted, “I just want mom! Take us to her! Or make her come here!” he reached out and poked the screen with his little finger.
Nick Cage caught him and he put Peter away from the laptop, “Let’s go to your room. You all need to rest.”
“I don’t want to rest!” Peter shouted.
“I don’t want to rest either!” Julie added.
“Daddy, we don’t want to go back yet!” Cathy exclaimed.
“We want Mom Daddy!” Lily said with teary eyes.
“Mom,” Josh said weakly.
“We want Mom” Daniel looked at Nick Cage with expectant eyes.
The six little ones stood in front of Nick Cage’s long legs and they leaned their cute faces trying to lure Nick Cage with their pleading eyes.
They just missed their mom anyway.
They’ve been screaming for their mom for a long time and Nick Cage was beginning to feel irritated. What did he need to do to pacify their cries for the night?
“Rest first and we’ll see,” Nick Cage took the six of them with one hand and he forced them to leave the study.
No matter how the six little ones struggled, their efforts were all put in vain. After all, their father was too strong.
They were brought back to their room by their Daddy and he ordered them to rest.
On one hand, the ratings of the program were so high that the director called for a celebration. He told his crew to go to a bar before midnight.
When they reached the entrance of the bar, Veronica Parker noticed that it was not the expensive bar that she was expecting, it was somewhere else.
Veronica Parker thought that she would be able to get in.
“Sorry, you can’t come in,” everyone in front went in but Veronica Parker was stopped by the man.
Veronica Parker was speechless.
The director wondered and he asked, “Why won’t you let her get in?”
A colleague from the entertainment department who was nearby said, “I don’t know what happened but last time Miss Parker was also stopped outside a bar. We tried to find other bars but the guards also refused to let her in so we went to a restaurant instead to eat dinner.”
The director looked at Veronica Parker, “Why is there such a situation?”
“Director, why don’t you go ahead with them? Besides, I’m not planning to go, I think I should go back early,” Veronica Parker knew by now that she would not be allowed to enter any bar.
Obviously, she hadn’t come out of the blacklist yet.
“How can this work? You’re the host of the program and you are the life of parties. How boring will it be if you don’t go?”The director pulled Veronica Parker aside and asked, “Is there another place we can go?”
Veronica Parker took out her phone. She didn’t want to make them wait.
“Can I make a phone call?” Veronica Parker asked.
“All right, go ahead,” the director walked aside.
Veronica Parker didn’t want to disappoint the team. The director even reserved a private room for them to celebrate.
But would Nick Cage answer her call? She could only try.
She dialed Nick Cage’s number and she waited expectantly.
Much to her dismay, the call was connected several times but the person on the other side of the line was not speaking.
She was surprised at the slow breathing on the other line, Veronica Parker hurriedly said, “Our team is going to a bar to celebrate, but I was stopped outside. Can you tell them to let me in? I don’t want to spoil their fun. It’s rare for me to come out to play anyway, isn’t it? ”
“Nick?”
“Can you hear me?” Veronica Parker wondered why she couldn’t hear anything from the other line so she talked louder this time, “Hello? Nick, are you there?”
Veronica Parker held her phone in front of her eyes and looked at the screen. It appeared that Nick Cage hung up his phone which made her so angry that she bit her lip hard.
She could taste the salty blood in her mouth as she thought of Nick Cage, ‘Why did he hang up the phone? Did I say something that had offended him? How could he?’
“Is everything all right, Veronica?” The director asked.
“Sorry Director, I can’t go,” Veronica Parker said with tearful eyes.
