Sarah North was the first to speak, “Look, your good daughter arrogantly told me to pour her juice. I am not anyone’s servant, am I?”
Tom Parker looked at Veronica Parker then he turned his gaze at the angry Sarah North and said, “It’s just a glass of juice, I’ll pour it.”
“Dad, you don’t understand. I want her to pour me some juice because if she’s the one who does it then it will put me in a good mood. Who knows? This might be good for your interests too,” Veronica Parker said with a hint of a threatening tone.
“Sarah, why don’t you pour it? It’s just a glass of juice. ”
“What did you say, Tom Parker?” Sarah North asked, “How come you’re taking her side?”
Tom Parker plainly looked at Sarah North and he whispered in her ear, “Think of the big picture first. If you do as she says, she will help us with our plan.”
Sarah North wanted to talk back to Veronica Parker and she had the urge to slap her in the face because of her arrogant tone but she couldn’t stop thinking about the big picture Tom Parker was talking about. She plastered a fake smile on her face and she tried to hold back her anger, “Okay, I will take care of it and pour you a glass of juice just how you like it.”
With that, she turned and went to the kitchen. She squeezed several oranges to make the juice for Veronica Parker.
Sarah North squeezed the oranges until the glass was filled. The orange juice she made looked attractive and delicious.
“Come here,” Sarah North said to the servant next to her. As soon as the servant approached, she leaned over the glass and said, “Spit here.”
The servant was stunned for a moment.
“Didn’t you hear me?” Sarah North said in an irritated voice.
The servant had spitted in the glass of juice which looked very disgusting.
Sarah North smiled wholeheartedly and went to Veronica Parker with the glass of juice.
“Here it is.”
Veronica Parker took the juice from her and said, “Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome. Next time you want to drink some juice I’ll gladly make it for you,” Sarah North said.
Veronica Parker held the glass closed to her mouth but she had a bad feeling about it. She forced Sarah North to bring her a glass of orange juice but why did she look happy about it?
“You can drink this glass of juice for me.”
Sarah North watched as Veronica Parker slowly pushed the glass of juice in front of her. Sarah North felt disgusted.
She then suppressed her panic and asked, “Isn’t that what you wanted to drink? Why are you giving it to me now? You should drink it and appreciate my hard work.”
“I can’t help it. I don’t feel good about this. Why don’t you take a sip before you give it to me?” Veronica Parker motioned to the juice, “Drink it!”
“I don’t like it,” Sarah North refused.
How could she drink it? She watched her servant spit on it with her own eyes. Even the thought of it made her sick.
“If you don’t drink it, it means there’s something wrong with the juice,” Veronica Parker looked at her coldly.
“I mean, why are you so ungrateful? You said you wanted a glass of juice that’s why I brought it for you. You are deliberately showing off here, aren’t you?”Sarah North was so frustrated that Veronica Parker refused to drink and now she wanted her to take a sip first.
“All right!” Tom Parker picked up the juice and said, “I’ll drink it!”
With that, he poured the juice into his mouth.
Sarah North didn’t have enough time to stop him. She felt sick in her stomach as she watched Tom Parker drank the orange juice. Her face contorted in disgust as she saw how Tom Parker drank the juice.
Veronica Parker stared at Sarah North and her face confirmed that there was something wrong with the juice.
She knew something was going on in the juice.
However, she was not interested in the juice anymore. She only hoped that she was able to teach Sarah North a lesson. In the back of her mind, she thought to herself if Sarah North was indeed her grandma, for some reason, she never acted like one.
“Done,” Tom Parker put the empty cup on the table. He turned to Veronica Parker and kindly said, “Don’t be angry It’s safe to drink. Sarah will never put anything in your drinks.”
Veronica Parker withdrew her eyes coldly and picked up her backpack, “I’m going to the TV station.”
With that, she stood up and left the villa.
Sarah North turned around and growled at Tom Parker, “You must send her away! I don’t want to see her! ”
Tom Parker patiently appeased her, “Forget it, just bear with her!”
“Her horns were growing fast! How long am I going to put up with her arrogance?” Sarah North exclaimed.
“Did you know what Nick Cage asked me last night?” Tom Parker said, “He asked me whether Veronica was living here well. Don’t you understand what that means? If he ever heard that Veronica was not being treated well then he will go after us. We must not do anything that will harm her. It would be better for us to keep a low profile and wait until the development rights of the southwest are taken down and the other forces infiltrate the city. That’s the only way we can resist Nick Cage! I know how you feel about Veronica, I was just trying to be patient. You can just ignore Veronica and you must not make trouble with her.”
Despite all kinds of negativity in Sarah North’s heart, she had to put up with her for the sake of their future. She tried hard to control her body that was shaking because of anger.
“But you didn’t put anything in the juice, didn’t you?” Tom Parker remembered and asked.
Sarah North hid her guilt and said, “What will I put there? If I really put something there, can you still sit here safely? Isn’t it because Veronica is very suspicious?”
Tom Parker hugged Sarah North and then he patted her on the back to comfort her.
Veronica Parker sat in the car as she watched the surveillance video on her cell phone.
After Tom Parker went to the study, he just took some folders and he did not touch the computer. She could not believe that he hadn’t touched the computer for two days.
Veronica Parker had put down her phone. She really wanted to go to Winter Villa.
But what would she do if she went there? She would be too emotional if she saw the six little ones.
That would only make her children wondered why their mother was not staying with them in the same house.
Conflicts between adults should not affect children but she wouldn’t dare to appear in front of the six little ones.
The only urgent thing for Veronica Parker at that time was to find the video. Only if the video was found then things would be much easier.
She worked overtime on Saturday because that evening was the premiere of the second season of her show Children’s Words.
A lot of work had to be done to prepare for the premiere so everyone in the TV station was busy.
Even if she wanted to see the six little ones, she didn’t have enough time.
At the building where the King Group was located, Kay Tours was in the office of Nick Cage, “Mister Cage, Veronica Parker hired a private investigator to look into a man with the name Saxon Raglan.”
“Who is he?” Nick Cage asked in a deep, cold voice as he leaned against the back seat.
“This Saxon Raglan is interesting. His father and Tom Parker were friends and the two families were very close. Later, when his father died in a car accident, he learned that his father owed a lot of money to other people because of his gambling addiction. Even their company was heavily in debt. At that time, Tom Parker came forward to buy the family’s company and he hired Saxon Raglan to work for the company. But he didn’t receive good treatment there and he was looked down on by the people from the Parker family, especially by Elton Parker,” Kay Tours reported. “Why would Veronica Parker want to know something about Saxon Raglan? What is her purpose? Isn’t it interesting?”
“Keep an eye on him,” Nick Cage said with his sharp black eyes.
“Mister Cage, I can assure you that I will do everything you asked for Miss Parker’s safety. I will also prevent any suspicious man who will approach Miss Parker.”
Nick Cage said nothing, he narrowed his eyes and glanced at the time on his wristwatch.
Kay Tours immediately said, “Mister Cage, the premiere is at seven o’clock, and there are still four hours left!”
“You talk a lot.”
“Well, don’t mind me. I’ll go out first,” Kay Tours said as he smiled sheepishly.
Veronica Parker stayed at the TV station all day without going out as she was busy until late at night.
When Veronica Parker went to the bathroom before the premiere, she took out her cell phone and flipped through the surveillance video.
She was shocked to see that Tom Parker appeared in the video and her whole body felt tense.
Tom Parker was using his computer which means he had entered his password.
Veronica Parker went to the earlier time of the footage and starts playing the time when Tom Parker entered the study.
She watched as Tom Parker entered the study, he looked at the materials for a while, and then he turned on the computer.
Veronica Parker immediately magnified the video and watched the man typed his password. She watched it once and then memorized it. She finally got the password and it made her very excited.
