Veronica was confused about what move she should do next.
After calling the driver, Veronica played with Peter in the house, waiting for the clock to strike at exactly nine in the evening.
What Veronica didn’t know is that the place she was staying in was surrounded by people.
A car appeared silently in the clearing below.
“Mom, I want to play hide and seek!” Lily was holding on to Veronica’s leg, dangling her pigtails.
Peter climbed onto Veronica’s shoulder. “I want to play, too!”
Julie, Josh and Daniel raised their hands innocently. “Mom, hide and seek!”
Veronica looked the six children and it was clear that they weren’t sleepy at all.
Looking at the approaching departure time, Veronica decided to play hide and seek with them. “Alright, fine.” She laughed.
“One!”
“Ah!” The children immediately ran around, walking around happily and trying to find somewhere to hide.
Veronica looked at the small children rolling around and she couldn’t help but laugh. Covering his eyes, she counted once again. “Two, three, four…”
Peter opened the locker and got in.
“Five, six…”
Cathy huddled in the corner holding the pillow, her body almost completely hidden.
Julie and Josh hid in the corner of the sofa. Their heads were facing inside the corner, revealing their round little butts.
“Seven, eight, nine. ”
Meanwhile, Daniel was looking for a place to hide. As he passed by a chair, a dress hanging over the back of the chair fell off and fell right over his head.
Isabella smiled and turned to the bathroom.
“Ten!” Veronica then proceeded to find where all the children were.
However, when Veronica said the last number, there was a knock at the door.
Veronica suddenly panicked. She then looked back at the closed door.
She didn’t know who was knocking at the door and she only gave her address to the driver.
Veronica’s heart started beating faster.
Isabella gets out of the bathroom and sees that Veronica isn’t moving So she insisted in opening the door.
“Wait a minute, Isabella!” Veronica said in an audible whisper. she kept her voice down for fear that she might be heard by the people outside.
“What’s the matter?” Isabella asked in a whispered back, then starting to become nervous.
Veronica said nothing. She stood up and approached the door.
“Who is it?” Veronica told the person behind the door.
“It’s me, your landlord.”
Veronica was in a daze. When she thought of Tom Parker, she couldn’t help but feel rejected. The landlord came here because of Tom. “We’re resting right now. We can talk about it tomorrow.”
“I’m here to give you a deposit. You don’t need a deposit?” The landlord said in an ambiguous tone.
Veronica didn’t want the deposit and thought it would be best if she just gave it to Tom’s daughter.
Veronica Parker hesitated, but she unlocked the door anyway.
When the opened, Veronica felt a sense of insecurity, as if she was in danger.
But everything it was too late.
When she opened the door, she saw a Nick standing outside.
Veronica trembled with fear and looked pale.
Her reaction was to quickly close the door, but Nick slammed Veronica to the door panel. He then looked at Veronica with a cold, stern look. “Did you really think you could escape, Veronica?”
The door opened and the strong force reminded Veronica of the harsh reality she was living in.
Veronica gasped and watched Nick come in the room calmly with an otherworldly aura.
The door slammed, isolating everything outside.
Nick took control of the situation.
As soon as Nick went in, the children all came out of their hiding spots.
Nick’s eyes fell upon Peter’s face. He saw his son with his own two eyes.
Nick felt strange, but when he saw Peter, he felt familiar with him.
It was most likely because they were related by blood.
Isabella Nick to show up here, so she got flustered.
Even after hiding for so many days, Veronica was found.
She contacted the driver before 9 o’clock, but it was now past nine.
Veronica pondered about her phone call with the driver and then it hit her.
She didn’t expect that Nick would control the Internet!
She wanted to escape, but the important thing was her transportation. Veronica gritted her teeth in anger. It would be easy to know her exact location as long as Nick would command the drivers.
Nick just kept staring at Peter without saying a word.
Veronica then hurriedly walked to Nick and tried to stop him from doing anything rash, “Don’t do anything to them!”
Nick ignored Veronica and told Isabella to simply take the children out.
Isabella then looked at Veronica.
Veronica suddenly had a plan in mind, and she knew very well that Nick will have a way to take them out forcibly. The things he’s planning to do are going to scare children away, after all.
She thought Nick would approach her, but he just walked to the sofa.
As Nick sat down, what he took out of his hand was placed on the nearby coffee table.
It was an asthma spray bottle.
When Veronica saw the spray bottle, she trembled. She knew very well that it was a threat.
At that moment, Veronica really wanted to provoke Nick, but she changed her mind. There was nothing she could do to escape at all.
The room fell silent.
Nick already had Veronica at the palm of his hand and the tables turned.
She knew she suffered from Nick’s influence.
“That night three years ago, I didn’t think I would get pregnant. I wanted to have an abortion at that time. But then I also thought that the baby deserved a chance at life. Besides, you and I didn’t know each other back then. You didn’t want anything to do with a baby, so they were born.” Veronica told him.
“You then knew all about my return to capital three years later.” She added.
“Did you know? I’m supposed to be praising you for hiding that kid. You’re the only one who keeps playing tricks in front of me and is still alive.” Nick gave her a stern look.
Veronica froze. She was dead silent.
“Which child?” Nick asked coldly.
Veronica instantly panicked. Nick knew there were six of them.
