Chapter 33 I Am Not Going To Beg Him

Book:My CEO Daddy Published:2024-8-9

Veronica Parker rejected, “No, put it away.”
“Wear it.” Toby Cage whispered.
Veronica glared at him.
Toby turned and got into the car, which disappeared into the night.
Veronica had never seen such an inexplicable person.
There should be a limit to sympathy, right? Besides, who wanted his sympathy?
No one needed it!
As Veronica walked, she wondered where she was going to throw the dress.
After walking for a while, she saw a homeless man who was lying under the bushes by the side of the road.
She walked over and the tramp opened his eyes.
Veronica took off her coat. “Here you are.”
She dropped her coat and left.
The tramp looked at her strangely, looked at the clean and textured clothes, smelled it a little, then put it on him, and went back to sleep.
When Veronica came home, the children were asleep and Isabella was still in the living room with a cell phone in hand.
“You’re back?” Isabella asked.
“Sorry, I’m late.” Veronica said, “It’s so late, why don’t you sleep here?”
“All right.” Isabella looked at her and asked, “Are you all right?”
“It’s nothing. I’m just a little tired.” Veronica thought of something and said, “Isabella, take a leave these two days! I’ll pick up the children. You’ve been working hard lately.”
“I’ll take a break. What about your job?”
Veronica smiled helplessly. “I have to look for one again, but it’s all right. I’ll find it soon.”
“All right.”
Pushing the door, there were small lights in the room, and the six little ones on the tatami slept in a harmonious and defenseless position, which fully relaxed the depression in Veronica’s heart.
Climbing into bed and turning over Daniel, who was on his stomach and pouting buttocks, she held him in her arms and he sucked hard. The smell of the milk was very good.
Then she ventilated the other five, inhaled the lack of oxygen in her head, and her heart was gradually replaced by pleasure.
It seemed that any scar in her heart would be healed by these six little ones.
She had the spray can in her hand. Did she need this? Definitely not. The doctor gave her good advice, and Toby might not necessarily do the same, as he must want her to be beaten! With a bad face, Veronica Parker threw the spray can into the drawer and closed it.
At noon the next day, Kay Tours called and said, “Did the money get to your account?”
“Yes, thank you.” Veronica was not surprised and was willing to accept it.
“I didn’t think you had anything to do with it.” Kay Tours said.
Veronica knew that the other side he was talking about meant Chloe Bowen and Kevin Cage. From this meaning, she could tell that the well water of Nick and the Cage family did not invade the river.
“I didn’t think of it at first, so I didn’t know until later,” Veronica said.
“Is that why you quit your job?”
“Yes.”
“As a former employee, I would like to remind you that if you can’t find a job, you might as well ask for Mr. Cage.”
Veronica frowned slightly. “You mean, no one dares to hire me? Nick Cage did this?”
“Of course not.” Kay Tours said, “But you know, even if Mr. Cage doesn’t talk about it, no one dares to hire you.”
Veronica understood what he meant.
There was no shortage of respectable businessmen at birthday parties, and there would always be people leaking out what happened that night against KING Group to recruit Veronica Parker unless they didn’t want to survive in capital. No one dared to touch the power of Nick Cage, but if it was serious, it would go up in smoke.
Was this making it impossible for her to survive in the capital? How could that be? She couldn’t even raise children without a job.
There was no need for Nick Cage to issue orders to kill them all, and someone would have an early united front. This was the terrible thing about the height of Nick Cage’s power.
But to go back to Nick Cage? What did Kay Tours think?
She was not going to beg him!
However, Veronica Parker’s survival mentality was still too optimistic.
It didn’t matter if the big company didn’t like her, even as a waitress, she had a closed-door look on her face.
Nick Cage was so angry by Veronica that he wanted to swear.
She was very tired at the end of the day and then hurried to pick up the children.
Veronica remembered that John Cage was in school.
So, before she went, she spent a dollar to buy a mask to wear, and only then did she go to school.
Not long after standing in the doorway, she saw the cutie coming out in line.
Veronica immediately waved, “Peter! Cathy! Julie! Josh! Lily! Daniel! Mom is here!”
The six little ones turned their heads together, and six pairs of big eyes flickered at Veronica, but they didn’t move.
The teacher asked, “Is that your mom?”
“No!” Peter.
“No!” Cathy.
“No!” Julie.
“I don’t know.” Josh hid behind Julie with a little fear.
“Bad guys!” Lily.
“Well, bad guy!” Daniel.
Veronica had a black line on her face. They didn’t even know her when she wore a mask? She looked around, but without seeing John Cage, she bent down, pulled the mask off her face, and asked, “Do you know me now?”
Six little eyes suddenly shone with the light of the stars–
“Mom!” The six little ones pounced on Veronica happily.
Veronica’s leg was grabbed by them and almost fell. “Be careful, Peter. Don’t climb.”
Quickly squatting down, the six little ones jumped into her arms and Veronica suddenly felt like an old hen, while the round six little ones were just the furry chicks, happily hiding under her safe wings.
Daniel was also jumping, very cute.
“Mom, are you here to pick us up?” Cathy asked excitedly, holding a little tug on her head.
“Of course, Mom is here to pick us up!” Peter said toughly.
“Mm-hmm!” The other four little heads nodded sharply.
“That’s right. Mom is here to pick you up.” Veronica hugged their soft bodies and said,
“Where’s Grandma, Mom?” Cathy asked.
“Let Grandma take two days off. Mom will pick you up both days, okay?” Veronica asked.
“Good!” The six little ones happily opened their small round mouths and danced more happily in her arms.
Veronica knew that she picked them up at school for the first time because of her work, so when they saw her, she wore a mask and said she didn’t know the custom.
The parents gathered around, smiled in shock, and asked, “Are these your children? It’s not sextuplets, is it?”
“Yes, the sextuplets,” Veronica said politely.
“Oh, my God! They are amazing, small, fleshy, and so cute.”
“Thank you.” Veronica stood up. “Come on, let’s go home. Line up.”
The six little poops lined up and began to walk. Veronica followed.
Taking care of six young children was not like one or two children, since it was very difficult to bring them if there was no formation.
This made Veronica’s life a lot easier.
Looking at the lovely six little ones, the depression of being shut away from opportunities when looking for a job was gone.
“Veronica?”
Veronica’s body shook, and the familiar voice made her afraid to look back.
Chloe Bowen, who had just got out of the car, chased after her. “Is it really you? I thought I had the wrong person.”
Just because Veronica wore a mask on her face so John Cage wouldn’t recognize her didn’t mean that Chloe wouldn’t recognize her either.
“You don’t answer our calls. I don’t know where you live. I’m really worried to death.”
“I didn’t notice.” Veronica didn’t want to answer.
“Were you all right last night? Did Nick make things difficult for you?”
“No, I just lost my job.”
“If you lose your job, you lose it. It’s not like you can’t look for one again. By the way, what are you doing here alone?”
