The morning sun shone through the French windows and spilled into the room. The thin streaks of light bounced around on the floor.
After taking a bite of the egg that was fried to perfection, Rosiley looked up at the man opposite her.
The sunlight was behind him, which made his body look taller and his features more well-defined and handsome.
He was drinking his milk while reading the newspaper. He was focused and serious.
“Be focused when you’re eating, don’t be distracted. You might get indigestion.”
Feeling dissatisfied, Rosiley muttered. The man sitting opposite her heard what she said and lifted his eyes. His smiling gaze landed on her.
“That’s what my mother used to say,” Rosiley added. Bringing up elders always added some credibility.
Sachin folded the newspaper nicely and put it aside. Then, he chuckled and said, “since Mom said so, how could I not listen to her?”
Rosiley squinted her eyes. “Are you making fun of me?”
“I wouldn’t dare.” Sachin could not keep his lips from curling upwards. Faint streaks of light emitted from his dark gaze.
Rosiley glanced at him grumpily. She picked up a fried egg and placed it on his plate. “This egg is fried to perfection, it’s very delicious. Try it.”
He looked down at the golden-brown fried egg on his plate and then looked up at her again. She was looking at him full of anticipation.
Hence, he grabbed his chopsticks, picked up the egg, and gently took a bite.
“How is it?” She asked eagerly.
He savored it carefully. After a long time, her anxiously-awaiting gaze caught him saying, “It’s delicious.”
Joy slowly spread across her delicate face. Her eyes were smiling as she said proudly, “I fried it.”
Sachin looked at her with a smile, his eyes full of love.
“I’m indeed very suitable to be a good wife,” Rosiley continued to say with a smile.
“Yes, you are already a very good wife.”
When receiving his assurance, she felt happier than if she had won the lottery.
She was in an extremely good mood and finished her glass of milk in one gulp.
“Slow down.” Sachin looked at her dotingly yet helplessly.
This was the morning, which belonged to the two of them. It was full of laughter and happiness.
…
When Rosiley stepped into the Media Department, before she even had the chance to make her seat warm, she was told that the Managing Director was looking for her.
At that moment, she frowned. “What did Tiana plan this time around?”
“Rosiley, be careful. Because she didn’t get to fire you last time, she’s definitely not reconciled. This time around, she probably thought of some stupid idea to target you.” Yayoi warned Rosiley worriedly.
Rosiley smiled and comforted her. “Don’t worry, I’ll see how it goes.”
Then, she turned around and wiped the smile from her lips. Her gaze turned cold instantly.
Some people really would not give up unless they reached the end of their path.
In the Managing Director’s office.
Rosiley stood in front of the desk. Before her, Managing Director Su, who had called for Rosiley, was looking at some documents seriously, pretending as if there was no one else.
From the moment she came until now, Tiana did not even glance at her. It was as if she did not exist.
It was like a competition. If Tiana did not look up at her, Rosiley would not take the initiative to speak.
But now, it seemed like calling her here was just a way of humiliating her.
Rosiley bit onto her lip and stared coldly at Tiana, who was still reading the documents seriously. Then, she suddenly turned around and strode toward the door.
“Stop right there!”
Just when she was about to stretch out her hand to open the door, a loud voice came from behind.
A mocking smile spread across Rosiley’s lips. She put her hand down, turned around, and stared at Tiana’s sullen face.
“Did I let you leave?” Tiana asked coldly.
Rosiley sneered, “Miss Su, I am very busy. If you have something to say, just say it. You don’t have to do this.”
