Bianca bit her lip, wondering why she kept running into such odd situations. The last time, Cherish’s general agent had said the same thing in the mall.
“Come on, I’ll walk you out,” the man said, adjusting the cuffs of his elegant suit.
Still feeling puzzled, Bianca followed him outside.
Bianca began raising her hand to hail a taxi at the roadside, but the man stopped her. “Actually, I just finished work. Where are you headed? I can give you a ride.”
Bianca looked at him warily. His hospitality felt a bit too eager.
She knew how things worked-if a man suddenly went out of his way to help her, he might be interested in her.
If that was the case, she might not be able to repay him in the way he hoped.
With a sigh, Bianca met his eyes and said seriously, “Professor Lopez, thank you for your kindness. I truly appreciate it. However, I’m worried that my boyfriend might misunderstand, so I can’t accept your offer.”
The man’s eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t say anything.
Bianca waited for the man to respond, half-expecting him to take the medicine back.
Instead, he simply smiled and said, “Okay, see you later.”
Then he turned and walked away.
Bianca was taken aback. Despite her clear rejection, he didn’t seem to mind at all. ‘Had she misunderstood the situation?’
Regardless, what mattered most was that she had the medicine now. Reese could be cured!
Bianca hailed a taxi.
Meanwhile, Leonel Lopez, sitting in his golden Bentley Continental GT, pulled out his phone and made a call.
“Mom, I ran into Bianca at the research center today.”
There was a gasp on the other end of the line. “Did she recognize you?”
“No,” Leonel replied, fiddling with a shiny golden lighter. “So many years have passed. If she didn’t look like you or if there weren’t recent photos of her online, I wouldn’t have recognized her.”
“Oh, and there’s one more thing,” he continued, pausing as he spoke. “She has a boyfriend.”
Leonel smiled and made a prediction.
“As a matchmaker, your chances might not be great.”
“It’s normal for Bianca to have a boyfriend at her age. But believe me, she might change her mind once she meets that guy! Your observation just makes it more urgent.”
Setting the lighter down, Leonel gripped the steering wheel. “Are you heading home soon? Let’s discuss this more then.”
With that, he ended the call and drove away.
Bianca’s mind was racing, with Leonel’s face stuck in her thoughts. She felt an odd mix of familiarity and trust, though she couldn’t quite explain it.
When she got back to the office, she called Reese and handed her the boxes of medicine.
“What’s this?” Reese asked, looking confused.
With a gentle smile, Bianca replied, “It’s a special treatment for obesity from Edenfield’s research center. Give it a try-it might be just what you need.”
Reese’s eyes widened in surprise. “Bianca, you… You did this for me?”
“It’s just a coincidence,” Bianca said casually as she flipped through her desk documents.
She didn’t want to make Reese feel overly indebted, but she was surprised to see Reese’s tears falling onto her desk.
Looking up, Bianca met Reese’s tearful eyes.
Wanting to comfort her, Bianca wiped away Reese’s tears. “Thank you, Bianca. I… I’ll find a way to repay you,” Reese said, still emotional.
“Don’t be so dramatic!” Bianca replied with a smile.
As Bianca managed a nonchalant smile, Reese hurried out of the office, leaving Bianca shaking her head with a bemused expression.
Just as Reese left, there was a knock on Bianca’s office door. Her assistant announced that a visitor was claiming to be from the global fashion show.
Bianca quickly got up and went out to greet the special guest.
The representative presented his proposal: to invite Bianca and Sophia to the fashion show.
Feeling flattered, Bianca accepted the invitation.
After finishing work for the day, Bianca took the bus home and quickly fell asleep from exhaustion.
When she woke up, she realized she had missed her stop.
The only other person on the bus was a man dressed in black, who also got off at her stop.
With just the two of them left, Bianca couldn’t help but notice him. As she walked, the man followed, keeping a distance that made her feel uneasy.
Haunted by memories of Haris’s abduction, Bianca quickened her pace, sprinting ahead of the man.
As she ran, she called Dave, who answered immediately. Breathing heavily, she said, “I’m being followed!”
Dave’s voice turned serious. “Find a crowded place and send me your location. I’m on my way!”
Looking for safety among the busy streets, Bianca sent Dave her location pin.
Surveying her surroundings, Bianca saw that the man in black had vanished.
She stayed put, alert, and waiting. After twenty minutes, a cab pulled up.
Dave’s voice came from the open window. “Get in.”
Bianca quickly opened the door and got into the cab, which drove away immediately.
She leaned into Dave’s embrace, hugging him tightly around the waist.
“Are you not worried about prying eyes this time?” Dave asked with a faint smile.
Bianca held on even tighter, snuggling against his chest. Sitting in the cab with Dave, she noticed the driver glancing at them through the rearview mirror, taking in her firm grip on him.
In the past, she might have been more reserved in such situations.
Despite her earlier concern, the recent events left her with lingering anxiety. Her worry about social propriety faded as she found comfort in Dave’s secure embrace.
“I’ve missed you terribly,” she whispered softly, her voice gentle and sweet as she nestled against him.
Dave’s throat slightly moved as he swallowed.
“Let’s get out here,” he said.
“What?” Bianca asked, confused.
Before she could understand, Dave told the driver to stop, quickly helping her out of the cab.
“Why are we stopping so suddenly?” Bianca questioned.
Dave guided her to a secluded spot behind a building as her thoughts raced. It was nighttime, and the area was deserted, with no one around.
The cool moonlight cast a soft glow on the ground.
In the quiet nook, Bianca found herself embraced and kissed by Dave.
Exhausted and overwhelmed by his passion, she leaned against his shoulder, surrendering to his warmth and touch.
Dave held her waist with one hand while the other roamed under her clothes.
“Wait… Let’s find another place,” Bianca said, her voice breathless as she grasped Dave’s hand. Her flushed, misty eyes were a powerful temptation.
Dave’s gaze was intense. He reined in his desire, adjusting her clothes to keep her warm. His heated breath lingered near her ear.
Their heavy breaths mingled in the quiet night, filled with longing.
