Apologize to Charlotte on their knees? Offer jewelry worth less than ten thousand dollars?
Harriet and Stephanie trembled with anger when they heard this. They were poor, but they had pride. Chance’s humiliation left the two girls both furious and deeply despairing.
Flynn glared coldly at Chance. “You better repeat what you just said in front of your father later.”
He dialed Orion’s number. “Get the owner of K Jewelry here within ten minutes, or he can kiss his store goodbye!” Flynn hung up immediately after speaking.
“You want my father to come here? And you want to smash my store?” Chance’s face darkened as he gritted his teeth. “Kid, which gang are you from?”
“Eight Extremities School? Impossible, I’ve never seen you there.”
“Let me tell you, the Chandler family isn’t afraid of small-time gangs! Unless you’re from Eight Extremities School, who dares to mess with us?”
Chance’s eyes narrowed with disdain. Charlotte looked equally contemptuous.
Flynn might be under Nathan’s command, but why would he help with such a trivial matter? Even if Nathan intervened, Charlotte was Madeline’s sister. Who would Nathan side with? Would he bully the sister of his beloved for a mere subordinate? Impossible!
The Kaur family was set to become Nathan’s in-laws! Flynn was just a servant-dispensable! This was Charlotte’s confidence.
“I have some connections with Eight Extremities School; he’s not one of them.”
“He’s probably from some other small gang in Niarak. Those gangs can bully civilians but have to retreat when facing a powerful family like the Chandlers!”
“This kid doesn’t know his limits! Just because he fights all day, he thinks he’s invincible? Big families don’t bother with you! But if you provoke them, you’ll see what real destruction is!”
The surrounding people sneered at Flynn’s audacious words, thinking he was foolish to trouble the Chandler family for a bit of pride.
As everyone gossiped, a man in a suit walked out.
“Oh, Mr. Carlyle is here!”
He was startled by the commotion outside and came out of his office, walking straight to Chance.
“Manager Hugo, you’re just in time. Blacklist these three permanently; K Jewelry doesn’t welcome them!” Chance pointed at Flynn and the girls.
Hugo Holcomb followed Chance’s gaze and smirked at Stephanie. “Well, if it isn’t Miss Hill! Found a new patron after leaving Quinn?”
Stephanie’s face turned pale at the sight of Hugo. Quinn was the man who had once kept her, and Hugo knew Quinn well. He had seen Stephanie several times and even discussed sharing her with Quinn. Although Stephanie fought desperately against it, their plan never materialized.
“Oh? Manager Hugo knows her?” Chance looked interested and focused on Stephanie.
Hugo grinned lewdly. “Of course I know her; Miss Hill is a good friend…”
“Hugo, please don’t…” Stephanie interrupted nervously, her eyes pleading.
“Don’t what? Once a whore, always a whore! Quinn paid you ten grand a month; why did you break up?”
“I thought you didn’t like how short his time was; turns out you’ve found another sugar daddy!” Hugo mocked coldly.
Stephanie clenched her fists as Hugo exposed her past wounds. Her frail body tensed up with anger but eventually bowed her head in shame. That year of being kept was a nightmare she wished to forget, but people like Hugo kept bringing it up.
“Kept woman?” Charlotte looked intrigued and scrutinized Stephanie. “See? I told you this woman was a prostitute!”
“Flynn, do you have anything else to say now?”
Flynn didn’t care about Charlotte’s opinion and said calmly, “Even if Stephanie was once a mistress, her heart is cleaner than yours.”
Harriet stood in front of Stephanie and retorted to Hugo, “Stephanie only did it to pay for her mother’s medical treatment; she wasn’t looking for an easy life.”
“After her mother passed away, she broke up with Quinn!”
“And Quinn was a pervert who often beat Stephanie!”
“You should know that; instead of stopping him then, you’re mocking Stephanie now-shame on you!”
Hugo laughed dismissively at Harriet’s accusation. “A pervert still stayed with him; isn’t that pathetic?”
“If she’s so pathetic, why should I help her? Maybe she likes being beaten!”
Chance nodded in agreement. “Right, some women do enjoy whips; it excites them more.”
Charlotte turned to Flynn with a sneer. “You’re lucky today; why not buy a whip and try it out?”
“If you satisfy her tonight, she might not even charge you!”
Flynn’s eyes narrowed coldly. “I don’t know about my luck today, but you’ll definitely get what’s coming to you.”
“Hit me? Dirty your hands?” Charlotte scoffed at Flynn’s threat.
She hoped Flynn would hit her so that Chance’s men could break his limbs in retaliation-worth it!
This was Niarak’s largest jewelry store with over five hundred million dollars’ worth of jewelry inside and an eighty-million-dollar treasure on the second floor. Thus, the Chandler family had stationed over ten elite guards here-all Inner Strength martial artists.
Even if Flynn had good skills, he couldn’t escape!
Tears streamed down Stephanie’s face. She was stronger than Harriet but being kept for that year was an unbearable memory. If not for her mother’s illness requiring urgent money, she would never have degraded herself.
“What nonsense are you spouting? Ever heard of forgiveness?” Harriet shouted angrily.
“A dirty mind sees everything as dirty!”
Hugo laughed again mockingly at Harriet’s words. “Forgiveness? A whore is just a plaything to me-not even human!”
“But you look quite exquisite yourself-is Miss Kaur suggesting you’re also for sale?”
“How much for one night? Come with me tonight…”
Slap!
Before Hugo could finish his lewd suggestion, Flynn’s whip-like kick landed on his head.
Crash!
Flynn’s kick sent Hugo crashing into the glass counter behind him.
The glass shattered instantly; shards cut into Hugo’s face and hands while blood splattered over the jewelry inside.
“You dare hit me… you…” Hugo screamed in pain as he struggled to get up from the broken glass.
“Kneel down!” Flynn kicked Hugo’s knees from behind.
Hugo fell back onto the shattered glass again-his face now slashed multiple times by sharp fragments.
Silence fell over the room as everyone watched in disbelief at Flynn’s actions.
“Charlotte may be beyond saving,” Flynn said coldly to Hugo without emotion. “But maybe I can teach you some manners.”
“You dare hit Manager Hugo?” Chance’s eyes filled with malice as he clapped his hands together.
Suddenly-
Over ten men in suits appeared from different directions around them.
These men were not ordinary bodyguards-they exuded strong killing intent and were clearly seasoned fighters-all Inner Strength martial artists.
As they closed in rapidly from all sides-their overwhelming presence filled Harriet with fear as she hid behind Flynn.
