Natasha’s heart flew a hundred meters away. She looked at her two kids that were seated comfortably on the seat.
Marcus jumped up from the bed at once, “we must leave immediately,” he said to Rose.
Rose also stepped down. This time, Natasha was already standing. “Gen, I need you to hide these kids for me.”
Gen looked around the pretty large office but there’s no hiding space there. Everywhere was exposed.
“Will under the table do?” Natasha asked Gen.
“It’s still exposing ma.” Gen Ichiro answered. “I think he will easily see them there.”
Then the sound of a knock came through the door. Natasha’s heart raced at the sound of the knock. She knew it was definitely Dmitry at the door.
“Just cover them with something, they are little.”
Gen nodded and then led the two kids under the table then he quickly grabbed the vases of flowers around and used it in covering the open space.
Then at Natasha’s gesture, he went ahead and opened the door for Dmitry.
Dmitry then stepped in, Gen stayed around since he didn’t know what Dmitry was up to. Natasha also didn’t understand the reason for this unexpected visit.
“Hey,” Natasha greeted.
Dmitry looked at her expressionlessly and said, “If not for the honor I have for my friend, you would have rotted there.”
Natasha could only swallow. She didn’t bother to utter any word lest she anger him more. And how close are Dmitry and Anthony? Where did they even meet? Well, powerful people have ways they meet themselves.
“You will follow me now and apologize to Ruby. And you are lucky she’s not dead.”
Apologize to Ruby? Never! That’s not happening. Ruby is her mortal enemy, an evil woman that had murdered everyone around her and won’t hesitate to even murder her children. How can she apologize to such a person?
“That’s not going to happen,” Natasha said. She knew the consequences of disobeying Dmitry will be severe but she will rather face that than apologize to Ruby. This is a woman that had been slowly poisoning her kids.
Dmitry frowned, “then I’ll throw you back inside that room and lock you up. This time, Anthony won’t be able to help you out.”
“Ruby is my step sister and our past is not so pleasant. You may not understand cause you lost your memory but I’d rather die than apologize to that bitch,” Natasha said angrily. Ruby and her mother literally killed her parents, yet he dares to tell her to apologize to her.
Dmitry looked at Gen Ichiro who was standing by a corner of the office, “get out!”
“Mr. Dmitry, I’m sorry I can’t leave miss. Natasha alone here. I’m afraid you may hurt her.”
“Which implies you will fight for her in case I come at her?” Dmitry asked.
“I respect you a lot, Mr. Dmitry but you’ll leave me with no choice. I’ll also have to call the securities.”
Dmitry smirked briefly, “such boldness.”
He walked over to him and knocked him down. Gen didn’t see that coming, Dmitry was so swift that Gen didn’t even have the chance to guide his attack. Dmitry then threw him out of the office and locked the door then he faced Natasha.
“Since you can not apologize, then face the consequence.” He said and commanded, “come with me.”
Natasha adjusted back with a heavily pounding heart, ready to fight him. She wasn’t ready to go back inside that prison where she’ll be served beans only. Even if she’s served the best food in the world, she would never want to be in there ever again.
Dmitry was amused when he saw that Natasha positioned herself to fight with him, “don’t make me lay my hands on you.”
“Even if you will force me out of here, I assure you I won’t make it easy for you.” Natasha said. “I didn’t kill your family. Ruby and her mother did, I’m sure of that. If you eventually recover your memory and find out all these truths, how big will your regret be after you’d severely punished me for what I’m innocent of.”
“Shut that mouth of yours!” He chirped angrily and then began to approach her, “Ruby is my woman and I’ll be marrying her in two weeks time. Stop with all these lies. Whatever your agenda is, it won’t stand. I’ll send you over to that room where you’ll live until the day you are ready to bring down your pride and apologize sincerely to Ruby.”
“Ruby is only interested in your wealth. She’s evil! She’s slowly poisoning Marcus and Rose. She wants them dead, she killed my father, my mother, she also killed your sister and your mother. I have no reason to lie,” Natasha said it all at once.
This time, Dmitry had already gotten before her. Natasha had nowhere else to move to as she had reached the wall.
He placed his two hands over her shoulder, his face closer to hers, “you really want to fight me, huh?”
Of course Natasha knows she stands no chance but the thought of being locked up, confined in a room isn’t what she ever wants to experience again.
Tears then tickled down her face, Natasha immediately cleaned it. Crying before him makes no sense at this moment.
After staring at her thoughtfully for a long period of time, he said, “We had an agreement that you were going to start working on how I can recover my memory, I haven’t heard from you,” Dmitry said.
Natasha sniffed in her tears, he thought he was going to probably strangle her to death, all sorts of wild thoughts kept going through her mind when he was staring coldly at her.
She answered, “I’ve been working on it. As a matter of fact, I was telling my assistant a few minutes ago to find a way to reach you and that you have to start coming to the hospital from tomorrow.” Natasha said. She was literally sweating in her palms and was hoping that Dmitry would leave as soon as possible.
And the fact that he was so close to her is making her suffocate, his scent… made her remember the last time they kissed. It hurt her so bad that he didn’t even remember her anymore.
May God punish Pavel in hell. Only God knows what he had done to Dmitry, obviously whatever he did to him resulted in his loss of memory.
Natasha wished that Pavel is not yet dead, she would have shot him in the head more than a hundred times.
Thing is, she had grown to love Dmitry ever since she delivered her babies when they were little. When Dmitry started loosening up towards her, how happy was she. Dmitry even promised then that as soon as he was back from Crying Sun, he would marry her. He didn’t say it directly, but he had insinuated that.
And how lovely it would have been, her children would be able to enjoy the protection of their father and mother.
Whenever she thinks of how stunted the growth of her children had been, how they had been denied true motherly love and affection, her heart will hurt badly. She would literally feel like a sharp pin was punctured into her heart.
“Look into my eyes!” Dmitry suddenly commanded.
Natasha, who had been avoiding his gaze slowly set her gaze at him, “Dmitry!” She called softly and passionately. “You promised five years ago you were going to marry me.”
Dmitry smirked, he didn’t believe her at all, he took his hands off her shoulder and then began to walk away, “I’ll come over tomorrow for the treatment. I better recover my memory as fast as I wish.”
He had changed his mind about locking her up. Natasha was his only saving grace, locking her up will only extend the time at which he could recover his memory. After Natasha had helped him heal, he would deal with her for refusing to apologize to Ruby.
He was almost at the exit when he suddenly heard a sneeze. It sounded like the sneeze of a little one. He turned and looked at Natasha who was even standing far away, if she was the one that had sneezed, there was no way he would hear it so clearly and loudly.
Then a call came through to his phone and seeing that it was Yuri, he answered it, “sir, the school authority reported that Marcus and Rose are missing. They’ve also reported to the cops!”
