Chapter 167: Cut Ties

Following Peter’s orders, they moved forward, ready to wreak havoc in Bianca’s company.
But Bianca remained calm, looking directly at Peter and Stacey. “Feel free to break things if you want. My place is equipped with a top-notch security system that covers every inch. Your every move is being recorded, and the police have already been alerted. They’ll be here soon.”
Upon hearing Bianca’s confident response, the men stopped in their tracks. They exchanged uneasy glances and hesitated to proceed.
Peter was stunned by the presence of such an advanced security system. Systems like this were expensive and usually only seen in large corporations. How had Bianca managed to afford it?
“Bianca, if you’re determined to continue with this company, I will disown you as my daughter from this moment onward,” Peter threatened, using their family ties as leverage against Bianca.
He doubted Bianca would go through with cutting ties.
“Dad, Mom’s decision to divorce you seems smarter than ever now,” Bianca said, feeling disheartened as Peter continued to disappoint her.
Bianca had never thought seriously about cutting ties with Peter because she didn’t want to be part of Stacey’s schemes. But now, she couldn’t help feeling like her determination was pointless.
Family had always been important to her, but Peter hadn’t reciprocated that.
“In that case, go ahead and cut ties,” Bianca said calmly, though inside, it felt like a heavy weight was squeezing her heart with pain.
Upon hearing that, Stacey struggled to hold back her laughter.
She was eager for Bianca to sever ties with Peter quickly. That way, she and Sheila could claim the family’s fortune. Stacey also had plans for the unborn child, ensuring Bianca would be defeated by then.
“Peter, with Bianca talking like that, you don’t need to wait any longer. You still have Sheila and our soon-to-be little one. They’ll both be loyal and respectful to you. Why bother with such an ungrateful daughter?” Stacey tried to worsen the situation.
Anger surged through Peter, shaking him. He never thought Bianca would go through with cutting ties.
“I’ll prepare the papers to end our parent-child relationship and send them to your home. Just sign them when they arrive,” Bianca said firmly. With that, she turned and walked into the building.
Peter stumbled, losing his balance, and fell backwards, collapsing on the ground unconscious.
“Bianca, you’re so heartless! This is all your fault for making your father collapse!” Stacey cried out desperately. “Peter, Peter! Someone call an ambulance!”
Bianca didn’t stop or look back as she left. Diana hurried after her. “Bianc, you were really tough today! Your father and stepmother deserved to feel your anger and suffer!”
As soon as she said it, Diana realized she might have gone too far. After all, Peter was Bianca’s biological father. She bit her lip and apologized, “I’m sorry, Bianc. I spoke out of anger.”
“Don’t worry, Diana. I just need some time alone,” Bianca replied. She didn’t turn back to look at Diana, instead retreating into her office and locking the door.
Once the door closed behind her, Bianca slumped against it, her eyes red from crying. She clenched her teeth, fighting back the tears, but they still welled up in her eyes.
Her mother and brother had left, and her father had cut ties with her.
Even though they were all alive, it felt like she had lost her entire family.
Bianca wiped a tear from her eye and lifted her head with determination.
She had true friends and Dave by her side.
Bianca wasn’t alone in her ambitions.
Despite Stacey and Peter’s disapproval of her starting her own company, Bianca was determined to succeed. What’s more, she had big plans for a grand opening event to make a strong statement and prove them wrong!
In the afternoons, Bianca diligently crafted invitations. Over the next few days, she personally visited influential and famous individuals in the entertainment industry, inviting them to attend her company’s grand opening.
On the day of the event, Bianca made her way to Eastview Television Network, the prominent broadcast network in Edenfield. She discussed with them the possibility of partnering to ensure extensive coverage of her upcoming grand opening.
Bianca was surprised to encounter Ashley at the entrance of the network. While not widely famous, Ashley was already surrounded by assistants and bodyguards, attracting attention.
Bianca noticed a slim man in a hood hiding in a dark corner, closely observing Ashley. As Ashley approached his hiding spot, he stepped forward and exclaimed, “Ashley Scott!”
Ashley paled upon seeing him. She muttered something to her assistant and quickly hurried inside. The assistant and security guards blocked the man’s path, warning him sternly that they would call the police if he bothered Ashley again.
The man stood there, fists clenched, appearing both resentful and hesitant.
Sensing something unusual, Bianca quietly observed from a distance. Once Ashley’s group had gone, she approached the hooded man.
With a slight smile, she inquired, “Do you need something from Ashley?”
The man was startled by Bianca’s sudden approach, eyeing her cautiously. “Who are you?”
“I’m Ashley’s sister,” Bianca replied calmly. “I saw what happened. If you have a message, I can pass it along to her.”
Learning that Bianca was Ashley’s sister seemed to change the man’s attitude. “Okay, fine. You tell Ashley that if she keeps avoiding me like this, I’ll reveal all our old secrets to the world!”
Bianca paused, studying the man. He wore worn-out clothes and had a peculiar smell. Knowing Ashley, there had to be something suspicious about her connection with him.
“Secrets between you two?” Bianca narrowed her eyes, putting on a skeptical expression. “She’s never mentioned you before. Ashley is pure and innocent. How could she possibly be involved with someone like you?”
Bianca’s remark sparked anger in the man. “I’m Ashley’s ex. We slept together the first time we met. Pure and innocent? Not at all!”
A smirk formed on Bianca’s lips. So, this guy was Ashley’s ex-boyfriend, and they had been physically involved.
She found this revelation intriguing.
Joshua, the youngest son of the Reed family-one of Edenfield’s prominent clans-would he ever consider marrying someone who had been in such a relationship? Surely, Ashley hadn’t told Joshua about this. She must have lied to him, claiming she was still a virgin.
Ashley had her sights set on becoming Mrs. Reed and joining the prestigious Reed family. Bianca couldn’t let her achieve that goal so easily, could she?
Bianca looked at the man and said, “Sir, I’ll pass your message to Ashley, but I can’t promise she’ll want to see you. You know, Ashley is quite the celebrity now.”
She emphasized “quite a celebrity” with a meaningful look.
The man’s expression darkened.
