“As for who she is, you might find out soon,” Quentin said with a smile.
“Why do you sound like you know this woman?” Charlotte asked, puzzled. “Do you know who she is?”
“That’s right!” Quentin nodded slowly. “In terms of wealth, Nash is no match for her. If this crazy woman goes wild, she could literally bury people with money.”
Hearing this, Charlotte’s expression changed slightly. “It seems you not only know her but are quite familiar with her.”
“Quentin, you really have a lot of connections outside.”
Quentin quickly explained, “We knew each other a long time ago. We haven’t been in touch for ages. Besides, it was mainly because of our parents. Both families were close, so we interacted. You could say we were childhood friends! It’s not what you’re thinking!”
“Hmph! Who wants to hear your explanation?” Charlotte huffed arrogantly. “You can associate with whoever you want; it has nothing to do with me.”
Sensing the jealousy in Charlotte’s tone, Quentin’s lips curled into a smile, and a warm feeling rose in his heart.
Charlotte’s jealousy indicated that she cared about him.
As the figure of four billion dollars appeared, the faces of the young man in the white shirt and Nash turned grim. This move clearly showed their opponent’s immense financial power.
It was an unspoken warning, exerting psychological pressure on them.
“Four point two billion!”
“Four point five billion!”
The bids kept rising, and soon Virginia raised the price to five billion.
Nash pondered for a moment, thinking that five billion was about the maximum he could afford for Time Group. Any higher would be difficult for him to accept.
“Five point one billion,” he finally called out.
“Five point three billion,” the young man in the white shirt said calmly. “Who is this lady? Why doesn’t she show herself?”
“I am Triston Lindsey from the Ofrustol Lindsey family. My family runs a small beauty product business. I hope the lady will give me the courtesy of letting me have Time Group as a gesture of friendship.”
Triston revealed his family background.
“From Ofrustol? No wonder you’re so wealthy!” Hearing Triston’s introduction, people around were visibly shocked and nodded slightly.
Families established in Ofrustol were rarely simple. The better ones could easily mobilize tens of billions in cash flow.
Moreover, the Lindsey family was in the beauty product business. Acquiring Time Group would maximize their value.
Just over five billion was still a bargain for them.
“Ofrustol’s Lindsey family?” The cold female voice echoed again. “I’ve never really heard of you. I bid six billion!”
Virginia’s icy voice reverberated through the hall, sending a shiver down everyone’s spine!
Triston’s face darkened. The woman was blatantly disrespecting him.
The Lindsey family in Ofrustol was at least a second-tier family with substantial assets worth hundreds of billions.
Yet this woman ignored them and even claimed not to know them?
This infuriated him. His eyes darkened as he said, “In that case, I’ll let you have Time Group. Goodbye!”
“But let me remind the lady, having money is good, but being too conspicuous will make you a target.”
With that, he stood up and left the venue under the protection of numerous bodyguards.
Nash also didn’t linger. He walked over to greet Charlotte briefly before leaving with his entourage.
Their opponent’s financial power was beyond his reach. Most importantly, although he claimed to control billions, he knew he couldn’t recklessly spend that money.
Marblegate Group had given him those funds to generate returns, not to squander. If he crossed that line, the consequences would be dire!
