Hannah stopped chanting and took a long, relieved breath, her tense expression relaxing.
Noticing the sweat on Hannah’s forehead, Leo asked, “Hannah, who was that sudden figure?”
“Daisy,” Hannah replied.
“Strange, mother once said Daisy’s soul had perished in the secret realm. I didn’t expect to see a fragment of her soul here. Thankfully, she didn’t attack us,” Hannah said with lingering fear.
“This place isn’t safe. Let’s leave quickly,” Hannah tugged at Leo’s large hand.
Leo nodded, and they continued forward. After passing through a stone corridor, the view opened up again.
Although spacious, the surroundings were barren and empty; they had arrived at a wasteland.
“Hannah, look there!” Leo pointed ahead.
They saw a person lying motionless on the ground.
Upon closer inspection, it was Elder Quentin of the Fox Clan.
Leo checked his breath; he was no longer breathing, and his body was stiff. He was unmistakably dead.
Looking at Elder Quentin’s legs, they were gone, yet there was no blood.
Seeing Elder Quentin’s open mouth as if calling for help, Hannah felt uneasy.
Though Elder Quentin hadn’t treated her well, he was still kin.
Leo gently pulled her hand and whispered, “The killer is nearby!”
“Leo, can you catch it?”
Leo didn’t respond but slowly raised his right hand.
Channeling spiritual energy, he cast a seal towards the right front.
A strange cry echoed as a black shadow emerged from the ground.
It was a giant black fox, about five times the size of Harper, with a ferocious face and sharp fangs.
The demon fox let out a strange cry and charged at Leo.
“That’s the Death Ground Demon Fox! Leo, let’s run!” Hannah turned to flee.
Leo stood firm and slapped his hand backward.
A miserable scream made Hannah stop and turn around.
The demon fox was sent flying and crashed heavily to the ground.
Hannah was stunned. Leo was incredibly powerful.
The black fox got up, shook its body, and black mist began to emanate from its surface.
“Not good, it’s going berserk!” As a fellow fox, Hannah knew what the black fox was doing.
In just a few breaths, the black fox doubled in size. Its black fur stood up like porcupine quills.
Seeing the mountain-like black fox, Hannah instinctively gasped.
Leo’s expression remained unchanged. He extended his right hand, and with a thought, the Divine Dragon Sword appeared in his hand.
The appearance of the Divine Dragon Sword made the black fox squint its eyes and rapidly shrink in size.
In seconds, the enormous black fox turned into a mini fox and burrowed into the ground, disappearing.
Hannah was dumbfounded. What just happened?
The ground trembled twice.
Hannah’s face changed dramatically. She ran back to Leo and said anxiously, “Leo, some foxes are trying to enter the Spirit Fox Temple. We must hurry or it’ll be too late.”
“Is the inheritance you’re seeking in the Spirit Fox Temple?”
“Yes,” Hannah said as she started running.
Leo followed her and asked, “Are the other spirit foxes also after your inheritance?”
“No, without white fox bloodline, they can’t receive the inheritance,” Hannah said with a hint of pride.
“You’re the only white fox left in the Spirit Fox Clan. What are you afraid of?”
“You don’t understand. Only I can inherit it, but if other foxes accidentally damage it, it will activate a self-sealing restriction. No one will be able to unseal it then, making this trip to the secret realm pointless,” Hannah said as she quickened her pace.
Leo thought if Hannah couldn’t get the inheritance, his reward would be lost too. That wouldn’t do.
Thinking this, Leo cast a talisman and then grabbed Hannah by the waist.
Amidst her screams, they flew up and sped forward.
In just a few minutes, guided by Hannah, Leo brought her to a grand building.
The Spirit Fox Temple was enormous, built entirely of massive stone blocks.
Standing outside, one had to look up to see the temple’s top, creating a strong visual impact.
Hannah seemed to be seeing the Spirit Fox Temple for the first time too. She stood with her mouth slightly open in awe.
At that moment, sounds of “bang bang bang” echoed.
Looking towards the sound, they saw Elder Grey of the Spirit Fox Clan attacking something with several other foxes.
Each attack caused ripples in the air ahead.
Clearly, some kind of restriction surrounded the Spirit Fox Temple. To enter, they had to break through it.
“Elder Grey, stop!” Hannah rushed forward in three quick steps.
The elder in grey turned around, his eyes cold and fierce as he stared at Hannah.
Sensing danger, Leo tried to call Hannah back but it was too late.
The elder’s figure blurred and appeared before Hannah in an instant. He reached out to grab her.
A white light shield suddenly enveloped Hannah. The elder’s right hand struck it heavily.
The powerful force made the shield shake but it didn’t break.
Hannah’s face showed fear as she stepped back repeatedly.
