Chapter 161: Don’t Overdo It

Dave grabbed her wrist, raised an eyebrow, and whispered, “Do you think I’ll need that energy again tonight? I wouldn’t mind.”
“Stop teasing and eat!” Bianca fed him the abalone, laughing, “But don’t overdo it!”
Amused, Dave finished eating the abalone.
Then he pulled out a file folder from behind and handed it to Bianca. “Everything you asked for is done.”
Bianca’s eyes widened. “That was fast; it’s only been a day. How did you get it done so quickly?”
Dave chuckled softly and playfully tapped her nose. “You can never accuse a man of being fast, especially in bed.”
“You’re so cheeky!” Bianca muttered, opening the file to check. Sure enough, all the paperwork needed to start their company was there. She looked at Dave in surprise and asked, “Did your boss arrange this for us, too?”
Dave smirked slightly and replied, “Well… you could say that.”
Sitting up straight, Bianca said, “Mr. Evans, your boss has been incredibly helpful. Shouldn’t we thank him in person? Maybe I could invite him to dinner!”
Dave was momentarily speechless.
Dave pondered how Bianca might react if she discovered he was the boss he spoke of.
“He’s usually quite busy. I doubt he’d have time for dinner. If you want to thank him… I can pass on your gratitude,” Dave said.
Bianca furrowed her brow, suspicious. “Why are you always so secretive and cautious about your boss? What does he actually do?”
“He…”
Just as Dave was about to answer, Bianca interrupted with a shocked gasp. “Is he some sort of mob boss?”
Dave rubbed his forehead, at a loss for words. Bianca’s imagination was quite something.
“Don’t worry. My boss is in a legitimate business. He runs a multinational company and wields a lot of influence in Edenfield. But he’s a bit mysterious and prefers to keep a low profile. He doesn’t like us discussing him much, so…”
Bianca nodded, seeming relieved. “I understand. Big-shot bosses are often a bit eccentric.”
Dave was left speechless.
He couldn’t help but feel like she was inadvertently describing him.
Several days later, Bianca left the hospital and moved back into Dave’s apartment.
Initially, Diana wasn’t happy about it, but with her parents returning soon and Dave apologizing, Diana agreed to let Bianca stay.
“Bianc, remember, honesty is key in any relationship. Don’t hide anything. If he ever upsets you again, come to me right away. I’ll help you sort things out.” Diana squeezed Bianca’s hand before leaving. “I’m going to find a job and get my own place.”
Bianca looked surprised. “Why is that?”
Diana explained, “Lately, my parents have been acting weird. They keep setting me up on blind dates and talking about marriage. It’s really annoying.”
Hearing this, Bianca responded with a touch of envy, “At least your parents are concerned about you. I might have parents, but I feel like an orphan. It seems like no one cares about me.”
“Bianc…” Diana understood the difficulties Bianca had faced. She squeezed Bianca’s hand reassuringly. “Don’t worry, I’m always here for you.”
Bianca nodded. “If you’re looking for a job, I have an opportunity for you.”
“What?” Diana’s eyes widened with curiosity.
Bianca then shared her idea of quitting her job to start her own business. “I actually need help right now. Why don’t you join me? Just to let you know, we can’t offer a high starting salary due to budget limits.”
Diana’s face lit up with excitement. “Money isn’t a problem. When my parents return, I’ll ask them to invest in your company. How about that? I don’t need a salary right away. Just give me shares equal to my investment. It’ll also help me focus on my career instead of those blind dates.”
Bianca thought for a moment. Even though she had some money from her mother, starting a company was still tough.
Diana was her best friend, and having her on board would be wonderful.
“Alright, it’s a deal,” Bianca agreed with Diana.
Excited about their new venture, Bianca quickly started planning for the company. Diana easily convinced her parents to provide financial support. With their backing, Bianca rented an office on a busy street. To save money, Bianca took on the job of designing and decorating the office herself. Diana used to have a comfortable life and now worked alongside Bianca doing manual labor. Sophia also helped out whenever she had free time.
Once the company was officially registered, Bianca proceeded to sign a contract with Sophia, making herself as Sophia’s agent under the company’s name.
About a week later, Bianca’s company was starting to come together.
One day, Dave arrived with a group of well-dressed people, wheeling in a large box containing high-end equipment.
“What’s all this?” Bianca was surprised by the sight.
“It’s a state-of-the-art smart security system,” Dave explained casually. “It’ll ensure your company stays safe from any unauthorized access. Even though it seems simple, it’s crucial for your business’s security.”
This was one of the most advanced security systems developed by Dave’s company, worth millions. Dave had even assigned his top security team to install it. After carefully evaluating Bianca’s needs, they tailored the system specifically for her company.
He couldn’t always be there to protect her, so he wanted to make sure she was as safe as possible.
Bianca frowned slightly. “I know these smart security systems are very expensive, costing several hundred thousand dollars at least. This must have been a huge investment…”
She had considered getting a security system before, but it was too expensive, so she postponed it.
Dave gave her a reassuring smile, ready with an explanation.
“They’re part of my boss’s security team. I talked to him about it, and it didn’t cost us much.”
Bianca finally relaxed, letting out a sigh of relief as her furrowed brow eased.
She knew a security team from a big company would be top-notch.
Two hours later, the installation was finished. Now, entry into Bianca’s company requires face recognition. She could monitor everything in real time, control it with a button, and trigger an alarm from her phone.
Bianca looked at Dave gratefully. “I know you wouldn’t take payment even if I offered. How about I thank you with a gift instead? Is there anything you want or need?”
Dave put his arm around her waist, leaning close to look into her eyes with a slight smile. “You don’t need to spend much to thank me. All I ask for is tonight…”
“You’re so cheeky,” Bianca teased, tapping his chest playfully.
“I have other things to take care of,” Dave said, straightening up with a hand in his pocket. He smiled at Bianca. “I’ll be heading out now. Just remember to thank me tonight.”
