10. Couldn’t Escape

“You think you can run away from me, sly woman?” Max said in a triumphant tone.
Gabriella’s head spontaneously shook her head rejecting the call. “I don’t know anything about that message. Trust me!”
“Shhh! Don’t panic. Take it easy! The signed contract remains valid. It’s just that you won’t be away from me as long as you haven’t revealed who your boss is.”
The girl let out a tired sigh. “I’m serious. I don’t know who this person is. He’s setting me up.”
Max nodded and pursed the corner of his lips.
“It’s okay if you still don’t want to confess. There are still a few days before the competition. You will definitely give that person’s name to me before then.”
Gabriella continued to shake her head even though she didn’t speak a word. Her tongue was too stiff to move.
“Please enjoy your dinner. I want to sleep.”
Max shifted the table slightly to the left and then lay down on the right side of the bed. Ignoring the look at Gabriella’s protest, he closed his eyes and slept.
“Tsk, what’s wrong with this guy? How could he accuse me like that? What should I do now?”
Gabriella’s eyes twitched for answers. At some point, her gaze was fixed on the IV needle that had almost tore her skin.
Without thinking, the girl pulled the needle out of her hand, then landed back on the floor.
“Akh …” she moaned under her breath. After grimacing for a moment, she started crawling toward the door.
“I have to get out of this house and get help. This man really has gone mad.”
Before her hand touched the lever, her body was lifted into the CEO’s arms. Gabriella’s eyes widened spontaneously as she locked her eyes close to Max.
“Where are you going. I told you that you won’t be able to get out of here?”
The CEO walked over to take Gabriella to bed.
As soon as she saw the dining table and tray had been removed, the girl’s hands spontaneously clenched. The clean mattress looked very spacious and awful.
“What do you want to do?” Gabriella asked in a trembling voice.
“This is your fault. I told you to eat. But instead, you tried to run away. So now, you have to accompany me to sleep.”
The girl’s heart immediately started beating fast.
“You said you don’t want to screw a girl like me?”
“Yes.”
Max lowered the girl onto the bed, then swiftly lay down and hugged her like a bolster.
“But I was forced to hold you like this. I have no rope to tie you.”
“Let go! You have no right to hold me!”
Gabriella struggled to push back the heavy arms that were curled up in front of her stomach.
“Shut up! I want to sleep.” Max just didn’t flinch as he closed his eyes.
“Engh …” Gabriella sighed, exerting herself. But, she was still too weak. As a result, after two minutes of struggling, the girl was exhausted and lay still, catching her breath.
“Let me go, please. I’m thirsty and want to take a drink. I promise not to run away,” she said after a while.
“Then, hold on to your thirst until tomorrow morning.”
“How wicked,” Gabriella muttered, closing her eyes. Her throat felt dry.
“That’s how it felt when you gave me spicy coffee,” Max said what came to his mind.
“Okay, I’m sorry.” Gabriella expected a concession.
“Apology accepted,” Max said before turning back to silence.
“That’s all? You don’t want to give me water?”
After snorting, the CEO finally got her a glass of milk. Gabriella immediately drained the drink.
“Now I’m going to the toilet,” she said after lowering the glass from her lips.
“Just go alone. I want to sleep.” Max laid back down and closed his eyes.
Witnessing such a response, Gabriella smiled silently. For the third time, she threw herself off the bed and crawled over to the table where the CEO had put the tray.
“Tsk, how many times did that guy get into me? Why does it hurt so much every time I move my leg?” the girl complained while biting her lower lip.
Once at the foot of the table, Gabriella looked back. The man didn’t move at all. Without wasting any time, she reached up, trying to grab something.
“Where’s my cell phone? Wasn’t it here earlier?” Gabriella thought as she continued groping. She had seen the cellphone when the CEO brought her back to the bed.
“Are you looking for this?” Max successfully surprised the girl. The man was sitting on the bed shaking the white cell phone.
Smiling lopsidedly, he put it in his pocket and laid back down. “Take it if you can.”
Gabriella sighed in resignation. That man really was hard to beat.
With all her remaining strength, the girl crawled onto the bed. Once she succeeded, nothing was done. She just looked at Max with a flat face.
“This guy … why is he so annoying?” Gabriella thought before looking down and deep in thought.
“Can’t I go back to my old life? Even though my house has been destroyed, there are still Mama’s dreams that I have to fulfill. I have to get out of here.”
After a few moments of silence, Gabriella finally raised her head again. Her hand was waved right over Max’s face. The man’s eyelids did not flinch.
A second later, her hand reached out to the man’s pants pocket. Cautiously, she slid a finger into it.
“Are you seducing me?” asked Max suddenly. “You want to wake my instincts?”
Gabriella gasped and spontaneously accelerated the movement. She managed to clamp the cellphone. However, as soon as she was about to pull, her elbow was jerked so that her body fell into the man’s arms.
“Hey, get off me!” she shrieked in a trembling voice. “I just want to take my cell phone. There is no intention of seducing you.”
“If you keep moving, I’ll assume you’re seducing me.”
Gabriella fell silent. With a frown of uneasiness, she held back the panic.
“There’s no point in you taking your cellphone. I have changed the password.”
Gabriella grimaced silently. Even though her body was pressed against Max’s stomach, her face still kept some distance from his chest.
“Go to sleep! Don’t let me repeat yesterday’s mistakes.”
Max pressed the back of Gabriella’s head. He can now feel the warmth of the girl’s cheeks under the thin shirt.
Under such threats, Gabriella dared not move. The girl tried to remain silent until she was tired and closed her eyes.
“Hm? Is she really asleep?”
Max opened his eyes and peeked. For a few moments, he watched the girl until his mouth suddenly gave a faint snort.
“Why am I being gentle with her? No, no. I can’t be influenced by it.”

The next day, the CEO brought the contract signed by Gabriella to Herbert. Unfortunately, the expected response failed to come through.
“This letter can’t change the way the board of directors see you. Instead, they’ll be even more convinced if you cooperated with that girl.”
The CEO’s brows furrowed in protest. “Why is that? Isn’t the problem resolved by this contract?”
“Why did that girl sign this letter just now? Hm? Could it be because of your orders? There’s no way the girl who is rumored to insist on defending her house, will suddenly change her mind when you’re pressed.”
Max sighed in disbelief.
“So, this letter means nothing to the company?”
“Of course there is. Leave it to Sebastian. Let him process it, while you still have six days to find concrete evidence.” Herbert pushed the map in front of Max.
The CEO’s hands were tightly clenched. When he was stretched out, with a hot heart, he took the folder and carried it outside. He never thought that his efforts were still considered lacking.
“At this rate, there is no other way. That girl has to confess right away,” Max thought as he pulled out his cell phone.
After pressing the emergency button, the secretary was automatically contacted.
“Bass, Do you still have the professional interrogator’s contacts?” asked the CEO as he walked toward the car.
“Sharp Knife, you mean?”
“Yes, I forgot what his name’s.”
“What for? Would you like to hire his service to interrogate Gabriella?” Sebastian’s tone sounded worried.
“Yes, of course.”
“Are you sure? He was notorious for being cruel when he was on duty.”
Max’s steps stopped and his eyes twitched erratically. After a moment of silence, he took a quick breath.
“Yes, that’s what I need. Maybe that girl should be put under a lot of pressure.”
