Chapter 416: Can’t Stand Seeing Her Suffer!

Book:Fallen Heir Rising Published:2024-7-19

Hearing Brian’s sarcasm, Charlotte’s face turned extremely grim.
Why do these two guys have such a strong sense of superiority? They targeted us right from the start. Is this amusing to them?
It was really laughable.
“We came here, and it seems like it’s none of your business. Why are you meddling?”
Charlotte’s voice was icy.
“Hmph! I’m just afraid you two will sneak in and show off. I’m reminding these security guards to keep an eye on you and not let you slip in!”
Georgia looked disdainful.
She turned to the group of security guards at the door and said, “Gentlemen, make sure to watch these two paupers closely and don’t let them sneak in!”
“These two can’t afford the entry fee and are lurking around. Who knows what they’re up to?!”
Hearing this, many eyes turned towards Charlotte and Quentin.
The security guards also cast wary glances at them. Indeed, there had been similar issues at previous auctions, so a bit of caution was necessary.
Seeing their looks, Quentin felt a bit annoyed. Did they really look like sneaky people?
These guys were really looking down on them.
He pulled Charlotte along and strode forward until they reached the entrance.
“What do you want?” The group of security guards immediately blocked their way and asked warily.
“Paying the fee to enter,” Quentin said indifferently.
“Are you sure? The ticket costs twenty thousand dollars each, forty thousand for two!”
For bosses and high-profile figures, forty thousand dollars was nothing, but for ordinary people, it might be a year’s savings.
And judging by Georgia’s tone, these two didn’t seem very wealthy.
Were they trying to save face by pretending to be rich?
Quentin said calmly, “Don’t worry about that. How do we pay?”
The security guard replied, “Swipe your card and get your tickets.”
“But have you thought it through? Pretending to be rich just for face isn’t wise.” His expression was somewhat contemptuous.
“Charlotte, what are you doing here?”
At this moment, a gentle voice came from behind.
Everyone looked up to see a tall, handsome man with a faint smile on his lips appearing in their sight.
His clothes were high-quality, clearly from top brands.
His aura was unmatched by ordinary people.
Under everyone’s astonished gaze, Nash walked unhurriedly towards Charlotte.
Seeing Nash also there, Charlotte couldn’t help but smile awkwardly, “Nash, why are you here too?”
“I heard there’s something in the auction today that interests me, so I came over.”
Nash explained slowly, then turned his attention to the security guard who had spoken earlier and asked calmly, “What’s going on? Why is there a commotion here?”
He looked at the security guard and asked indifferently, “Explain.”
The security guard was intimidated by his presence. The man before him was clearly an elite with an extraordinary background, not someone he could afford to offend.
He lowered his head and stammered, “These two want to go in…”
“So?” Nash’s tone was indifferent. “Guests want to enter, and the security is blocking their way. Does this comply with your auction house’s rules?”
“If I remember correctly, anyone can enter this auction as long as they pay twenty thousand dollars each, right?”
“Yes!”
The security guard was left speechless and could only nod.
“My sister and this gentleman want to go in. As long as they pay, they should be allowed in. Why are you making it difficult for them?”
The security guard’s momentum weakened a bit. “We were just reminding them to pay since the other gentleman and lady thought they couldn’t afford it…”
“I’ll pay for them!”
Nash’s tone was indifferent as he pulled out a card from his fingers. “It’s not that my sister can’t afford it; it’s just that I, as her brother, can’t stand seeing her suffer. Understand?”
“Swipe the card.”
