Chapter 153
The bomb threat.
Detective James POV:
It was time for Miss Williams questioning. I had already gotten Megan ready, but it feels like it may likely take ages before she will be here.
I noticed that Megan was starting to get jittery and hesitant, so I had to make her feel better.
“Megan, you need to be calm! Maybe has something urgent to do now!” I say.
“We just need to keep on believing that she will be here in no time!” I say.
We were waiting for a long when the warden rushed towards me acting like she has seen a ghost.
“D… detective… I think you should see this!” I looked on shocked and I hoped it did not have to do with anything with Sarah, because this warden was in charge.
“What is the matter?” I asked her as she kept on panting.
“Sarah, tried taking poison.” Immediately, I felt a wave of heat go through my entire body that I stood watching her in silence.
“Is… is she okay?” I asked.
“I do not know how she is pulling up now, but she in the infirmary now!” She says.
“I will go checkup in her, but you can leave now!” I say turning, with lots of questions running through my mind.
How was Sarah able to get something that was capable of harming her in solitary confinement and the warden knew nothing about it.
These thoughts ran through my head.
“Why are you getting yourself worked up over all of this?” Megan’s voice made me snap back to reality.
“What if this is another way she is going through to make you get your eyes off her?” I leaned in listening to her.
“How do you know about Sarah? You never shared the same prison with her.
“Let us say that I have my ears everywhere, and like I told you from start. I have gathered a lot of evidence… a lot.” She rolls her eyes.
I sigh.
“Now, I know that someone must have worked with Sarah to get her the poison in that cell if you were able to lay your hands on a lot of information whilst in prison.” I comment.
“What do you mean detective?” Megan eyes widened.
“Oh… so you now have an issue with that because it has to do with me?” She asks.
“But a lot has been going on in this pace and under your nose, but you could not do anything about it but now you are solving theories with the statement that I just made?” She asks agitated.
I shake my head in disapproval and turns towards Megan.
“I am sorry for making such statement! Especially in such a time.” I tell her.
“I am extremely sorry,” I say as we both grew silent and kept on hoping for the coming of the lawyer.
“Do you hear that?” Megan asked all of a sudden as we could all hear a lot of people screaming from around the facility.
I wondered what that could be as I rush to see what was happening, and to my surprise it was Miss Williams, standing in the middle.
Still, I could not decipher why she was in that position, and I got up to her to find out.
Behold, she had a bomb tied to her waist.
“What is this?” My eyes widen at once.
“I am sorry, I wished I never spoke to you and got involved in this case of yours!” Williams cries in pain.
“You do not have to say that or worry!” I tell her.
“I will make sure this is being taken care of!” I say as I saw the fire department of the state coming to her aid.
I implored her to stay calm as my mind ran back to Sarah’s issue.
Then, I found myself trying to connect the missing lines as there was already commotion in the prison yard already.
First, Sarah tried to poison herself now, Miss Williams has bomb tied on her body.
“Warden!” I called at once.
“Take to me to see Sarah… former sergeant Sarah!” I say, trying to sound at ease.
I may not know who might be watching my moves.
“But detective. I do not think it is the right time to see Sarah!” The wardens says.
“I mean, you are much needed here until the bomb is taken off her!” She insists.
“I didn’t mince words… did I?” I ask Stern.
She apologizes and off we go to Sarah’s ward.
“I think I can carry on from here… you can go.” I say but she seems unlikely with my decision.
“Warden!” My voice firms, and she leaves hesitant.
As soon as I got to the ward, something felt off about it, but I shoved it off and proceeded.
Coming towards Sarah’s wards, I noticed a thick black smoke coming out of nowhere and I grab my pistol at once.
On getting into where I perceived she was, it was all empty like no one was there.
“I think someone is getting played here!” I think and rush in and behold, a big hole has been dug through the wall.
“An escape!” I muttered as I rushed into it.
There was Sarah trying hard to escape from jail.
“Stop!” I yell at once.
“Detective James,” Sarah turns and looks with a smirk.
“You cannot stop me now; I have waited like forever to get this!” She says and takes to her heels when she screamed in pain falling to the fall.
“You should be more careful, I say as Sarah lied on the floor helpless and handcuffed.
Sitting face to face, was Sarah as I sought to sap out information from her, but I guess it was going to be easy as she was already remorseful even before the questioning began.
“I am sorry for trying to do this, but the syndicate will not let me be… they are trying to take my daughter!” She says and I discovered that she was lying.
“No, that is not!” I say.
“Fine, I was going to escape from prison after using Lily as a bait!” She said.
“I never changed working for the syndicate, and you have been really lucky, because once I step foot out of this place you would have been my next target!” She says.
“I have brought a lot of people down, but I do not know why you keep slipping out of my hands!” Sarah says.
Sarah goes on to say all the painful things and wicked things she has done, and I could not help but wonder.
This is bad and they all have to be brought to justice at once.
