Gabriella’s POV
I suddenly felt dizzy and had a slight headache.
“I will take you inside now. I am so sorry I revealed so many details about you today. I am a terrible partner.”
I held his hand, saying, “No, you are not terrible at all. I kept asking because I want to know who I am so I can treat you right like I used to do before.” He smiled at me.
“Don’t push yourself too hard, my love. I am willing to wait until you get back your memories, okay?” He caressed my hair and then carried me in his arms to the bedroom, where I fell asleep again.
I had a dream about Nate and a few things he told me about our past.
“I am sorry, Nate. I lost our baby. I have failed you.”
“None of this is your fault, and you should not end your life because of this,” he said, trying to calm me down a bit.
“It’s my fault. I should have left my father earlier instead of waiting until things got worse, leading to my miscarriage. And look at the end results now. I never got the chance to meet my unborn child.” I fell to the ground.
“I am sorry, I failed to protect you.” Tears left his eyes as well, and we were both emotionally broken at that moment.
I woke up at midnight and regretted everything. I couldn’t remember everything, but the few memories I could recall made me even sadder. This is not what I wanted, and nothing will ever make me return to the Silver Moon Pack, not after everything they have done to me.
“Hey Leah, how strong are we?” I questioned my wolf form.
“We are stronger than you think, but we need to take our mate’s advice, you know. We can’t shift for now until you fully recover.”
“Yes, that’s true. And when I get myself back, I will bring the war to my father. I hate them for everything they have done to me. Nate and I don’t deserve such cruel treatment,” I added, and tears left my eyes.
“Yes, you don’t deserve any of this. But right now, I would say, take your time to make more memories with Nate, and with time, your memories will return to you.”
“Thank you, Leah. I feel happier talking with you,” I added.
Nate woke up and saw me still awake. He wrapped his arms around me, saying, “Why are you still up at this hour? Having trouble sleeping?” He asked with care in his eyes.
“I just can’t sleep, knowing I failed to protect our unborn child. I never got the opportunity to meet her, and it’s so painful.”
“My beloved, it hurts me so much to see you this broken, but trust me, we are going to overcome this. By the time we get married, we can have more kids.”
“Thank you, Nate.”
“Now stop worrying and let’s sleep. You need the rest so you won’t get a headache.”
“Sure.” I rested on the bed, laying my head on his chest. He wrapped me in his arms and kissed my forehead, saying, “I will always protect you, no matter what.”
“And I promise to do the same as well. I will not let harm come to you.” I made my promise to him before closing my eyes to sleep. I felt a bit better, but something felt a little off in the picture, though I couldn’t quite tell what it was.
I woke up the next morning to breakfast in bed, and I knew it was Nate who had cooked for me. Something told me that my lover always loved to cook for me, and I always loved meals prepared by him as well.
I rushed to the bathroom to wash my mouth and came back to eat breakfast. After finishing my meal, I wanted to take the plate to the kitchen when the maids stopped me, saying, “Luna Gabriella, I will take it from here.”
“You don’t have to stress yourself; I will take it myself, and you can tend to other jobs,” I added.
“We can’t let you do that. It is forbidden for the Luna to do that.” They kept insisting, and I had to give in.
I went to my room to have my bath when some ladies came in with a dress, saying, “Greetings, Luna. Alpha Nate wants us to get you dressed.”
“Really? What’s the occasion?” I asked, curious about it.
“He didn’t tell us, but he wants you to look extremely gorgeous.”
“Okay, I will have my bath now,” I added and walked straight to the bathroom with a white towel tied around my chest.
I turned on the shower and allowed the water to soak my hair and my entire body; I love it in here. I finally exited the bathroom and took my seat immediately, facing my dressing mirror, and they started with my hair by using the hair dryer. Afterward, they gave me the dress to try on and finally did some magic on my face, and I looked so different from my usual self.
“Thank you all for this,” I replied with a genuine smile.
“You don’t have to thank us, Luna. It’s our duty, and we are glad that you love it.”
“You all are so nice. So where is he now? Can I go and see him?”
“Yes, he sent his beta to pick you up; he is waiting for you already.”
“Okay, got that. I will get going now.”
They brought my heels, and I wore them, looking very smart. I exited my room and descended the staircase, and the workers around also hailed me and bowed as well.
I came out of the house and saw someone standing beside a black Camry car. I guess he must be the beta.
“Greetings, Luna. My name is Beta David, and my alpha asked me to bring you to him.”
“Sure, let’s go.”
He opened the back seat for me, and I entered the car, and he drove off immediately.
