Hearing Quentin’s tone, Pierce let out a disdainful laugh.
“Damn, this is hilarious. Who the hell are you calling? Does he even deserve to know my brother-in-law?”
“Do you really think any random person can know my brother-in-law? And dare to speak to him in such an arrogant tone? Who do you think you are?”
“I’m telling you, today it’s either you cripple me, or I cripple you! There’s no chance for reconciliation!”
Quentin glanced at him without speaking, quietly listening to Clark’s voice.
“Sir, the company’s headquarters is in the provincial city of Ofrustol, but the branch in Stresall is just a fledgling division. Patrick tried to curry favor with me before. I’ll contact him immediately. He wouldn’t dare disobey me.”
“Arrange it immediately!” Quentin’s tone was firm.
After the call ended, Clark immediately dialed Patrick’s number. A fawning voice quickly answered.
“Mr. Wilson! What an honor for you to call me personally! If you need anything, just send a message and I’ll call you back. No need to trouble yourself!”
His tone was full of flattery and obsequiousness.
Clark replied coldly, “This call isn’t for a chat. A big shot asked me to pass on a message to you.”
A big shot?
Patrick’s heart skipped a beat!
Clark was already one of the top tycoons in Stresall, with a net worth in the billions. How many people in Stresall could surpass him?
And someone Clark referred to as a big shot must be terrifying.
Patrick’s face turned serious. “Mr. Wilson, what is it?”
“Your brother-in-law is in his hands. Get over there immediately to atone, or prepare to collect his body. That’s all.”
“Beep beep beep-”
Patrick wanted to ask more, but the line went dead!
Cold sweat poured down his face. What was going on?
What trouble had that useless Pierce gotten into this time? And now it had reached him?
“Useless!”
Patrick cursed under his breath, filled with resentment towards Pierce. It was bad enough having to clean up his messes normally, but now he’d crossed someone untouchable and dragged Patrick into it!
Fury surged within him as he dialed Pierce’s number. “Where the hell are you?!”
“I…”
Pierce gave his location truthfully and began to cry, “Patrick, you…”
Patrick hung up immediately. He didn’t want to hear Pierce’s nonsense because he feared he might actually kill him in a fit of rage!
The most important thing now was to solve this problem!
Otherwise, if that big shot turned his anger on him, wouldn’t he be finished? His future ruined by this worthless fool!
His brows furrowed as he slammed his desk. “Secretary, prepare the car immediately!”
Meanwhile, outside the apartment, Quentin ignored the miserable Pierce and knocked on Riya’s door. “Riya, it’s okay now. I’m here.”
Riya finally opened the door.
“Quentin…” Her face was pale. “Thank you, thank you so much!”
With Devon in the hospital and no one else to turn to in such a situation, she didn’t know what she would have done without Quentin.
Quentin said, “Riya, there’s no need to thank me.”
Aubree cautiously peeked her little head out from inside. “Uncle Quentin, did you chase away the bad guys? You’re amazing…”
Her big, bright eyes were filled with admiration!
Quentin smiled and said, “Yes, it’s all okay now. I’m here.”
“Uncle Quentin, you’re Aubree’s hero. You know, I was really scared just now. That man kept bothering me and Mommy… I was shaking with fear…”
Quentin’s eyes turned cold. “Don’t worry, it won’t happen again!”
“Today I’ll teach him a lesson.”
