Sophia’s POV
I blinked my eyes open, slowly becoming aware of my surroundings. I was lying in a comfortable bed, and the warmth of a broad chest pressed against my back made me feel safe and protected. I turned my head slightly and saw Alexander, his gentle gaze fixed on me.
“Good morning,” he murmured, his voice soft as he stroked my hair with a tender touch. “Did you sleep well? Are you hungry?”
I nodded, a smile tugging at my lips. “Yes, I’m hungry.”
Ethan had already prepared breakfast, and the delicious aroma wafted through the room. We got up and made our way to the dining area, where a spread of food awaited us.
As we sat down to eat, I couldn’t help but mention something that had been on my mind for a while. “It’s been so long since I’ve been home. I miss my parents.”
Alexander looked at me, his expression turning serious. He understood the implications of what I was saying. My parents were humans, and he was a werewolf. The revelation that I had two children, his children, would undoubtedly be a lot for them to take in.
He sighed softly, his brow furrowing with worry. “Are you sure about this, introducing me to your parents? They might not accept our different races.”
I reached out and took his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “I’m sure they’ll understand. They love me, and they’re kind-hearted people. Besides, they would want to meet you.”
I could see the nervousness in his eyes, but he nodded in agreement. “Okay, we’ll go and meet your parents. I’ll do my best to make a good impression.”
Ethan drove us to my childhood home, and I couldn’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. I had missed my parents so much, and I couldn’t wait to see them again. But I also knew that this meeting would be a pivotal moment in our relationship.
Alexander’s POV
Meeting the parents was a big step, one that made my heart race with a mix of excitement and nervousness. I couldn’t help but feel a sense of seriousness settle over me as Sophia told me about her plans. It wasn’t just any meeting; it was a meeting between a werewolf and humans, a fusion of two worlds that were often at odds. It was a challenge, one I was determined to overcome.
Her reassurances did little to ease the knot of anxiety that had formed in my chest. I knew that her parents loving her and being kind-hearted didn’t necessarily guarantee they would accept our different races. Prejudices ran deep, and it would take more than kind words to bridge the gap.
I had prepared expensive gifts, hoping they would be a symbol of my sincerity and goodwill. I wanted her parents to see that I valued their daughter and that I was willing to go to great lengths to make her happy.
As I dressed myself in my finest attire, Sophia couldn’t help but smile at my seriousness. She told me that her parents were simple people, that they didn’t place too much emphasis on formal etiquette. But I couldn’t help but feel that making a good impression was essential. I wanted to show them that I respected their daughter and that I was serious about our relationship.
Ethan drove us to Sophia’s home. The ride was filled with a mix of anticipation and nervousness. I couldn’t help but wonder what her parents would be like, how they would react to me, a werewolf.
I couldn’t help but feel a surge of nervousness coursing through me as the car pulled up in front of her parents’ house. It was a quaint suburban home, the kind with a perfectly manicured lawn and a white picket fence. A warm glow emanated from the windows, and I couldn’t help but wonder if the inside held the same warmth.
Ethan parked the car, and I turned to look at Sophia. We had been together for one year now, and despite our differences, we had built a deep and meaningful connection. But today, today was different. Today, I was going to meet her parents, and that thought filled me with both excitement and trepidation.
“Are you okay?” Sophia asked, her eyes filled with concern. She reached out and gently squeezed my hand, offering me a reassuring smile.
I sighed, trying to put on a brave face. “I’m just a bit nervous, that’s all. Your parents… they’re humans, and I’m… well, you know what I am.”
Sophia’s smile grew wider as she leaned in closer. “They’ll love you, just like I do. Trust me, my parents are kind-hearted people. Besides, they know how much you mean to me.”
I nodded, appreciating her words of encouragement. Deep down, I knew she was right. But the fear of rejection based on our different races was something that had always gnawed at the edges of my mind.
Ethan opened the car door, and we stepped out onto the sidewalk. I clutched the bouquet of flowers and a carefully wrapped gift box in my hands, a gesture to show my respect and gratitude for her parents. With my nerves still dancing in my stomach, we made our way to the front door.
As the door swung open, a wave of warmth and the scent of home-cooked dinner greeted us. Standing there was Sophia’s mother, a kind-looking woman with warm brown eyes and a welcoming smile.
“Sophia!” her mother exclaimed, rushing forward to embrace her daughter. “Oh, it’s been too long, sweetheart.”
Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes as she hugged her mother tightly. “I’ve missed you so much, Mom.”
Behind her mother, a tall man with graying hair and a friendly face stood waiting. This was Sophia’s father, and his eyes twinkled with curiosity as he shook my hand.
“You must be the young man Sophia has been talking so much about,” he said with a warm smile. “I’m Richard, and this is my wife, Anne.”
I returned the handshake, doing my best to appear confident. “It’s a pleasure to meet you both. I’m Alexander.”
They ushered us inside, and the atmosphere felt cozy and inviting. We sat down in the living room, and Ethan excused himself to give us some privacy.
As we engaged in casual conversation, discussing topics like the weather and our recent travels, I couldn’t help but notice the unease building up within me. This was just the calm before the storm, the moment before Sophia would reveal our secret. My werewolf identity was hidden from the world, and I had always been cautious about who I shared it with.
But I had to trust Sophia. She had assured me that her parents would understand, that they were accepting and open-minded. I took a deep breath, reminding myself to have faith in her judgment.
Eventually, Sophia’s face grew serious, and she turned to her parents. “Mom, Dad, there’s something important I need to tell you.”
Richard and Anne exchanged glances, their curiosity piqued. “What is it, sweetheart?” Anne asked.
Taking another deep breath, Sophia hesitated for a moment before finally revealing our secret. “I’ve already given birth to two children.”
