Alexander’s POV
We were all gathered together, sharing a meal that felt like a moment of perfect unity.
As we exchanged stories and laughter, the atmosphere was light and joyful. Our children’s giggles were like music to my ears, and Sophia’s smile was a beacon of happiness that illuminated the room. Yet amidst the lightheartedness, a sense of anticipation lingered in the air.
I cleared my throat, drawing their attention to me. “There’s something I’d like to talk to you about,” I began, my gaze resting on Sophia beside me.
She looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and slight nervousness. “What is it?” she asked, her voice gentle.
I reached for her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “In three days, I’d like to take you to meet my family,” I said, my words carrying a mixture of excitement and seriousness.
Her eyes widened a bit, a flicker of nervousness crossing her features. “Your family?” she repeated, her voice a bit uncertain.
I nodded, my thumb brushing over the back of her hand in a comforting gesture. “Yes, my grandfather specifically,” I confirmed. “He’s an important figure in our pack, and I want you to meet him.”
She bit her lip, her gaze shifting to our children and then back to me. “I… I’m nervous,” she admitted, her voice tinged with vulnerability.
I leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead. “I know it’s a big step, but he’s going to love you,” I reassured her, my voice a soothing murmur.
Daisy, always the perceptive one, chimed in with enthusiasm. “Yeah, Mom, Grandpa’s really nice!”
Daniel nodded in agreement, his expression earnest. “And we’ll be there with you,” he added, his voice steady and supportive.
Sophia’s gaze softened as she looked at our children, a mixture of gratitude and tenderness in her eyes. “You have such wonderful children,” she said, her voice filled with affection.
I smiled, my heart swelling with pride. “Yes, they’re the best,” I agreed.
Just then, one of my subordinates, Ethan, entered the room. His presence was both professional and friendly, and he offered a respectful nod before speaking. “Alpha, Luna, I wanted to congratulate you both on finding happiness.”
I met his gaze, gratitude and warmth in my eyes. “Thank you, Ethan,” I replied, sincerity in my voice.
Ethan’s smile was genuine as he continued. “Everything is ready for the journey to the werewolf tribe to meet the Elder Teddy. Whenever you’re ready, we can set off.”
I nodded, my appreciation evident in my expression. “Thank you for your efforts, Ethan. We’ll be ready in three days.”
As Ethan excused himself and left the room, I turned my attention back to Sophia beside me. Her eyes met mine, and I offered her a reassuring smile.
“You don’t have to worry,” I said, my voice a gentle reassurance. “You’re already a part of our family, and meeting my grandfather is just the next step in our journey together.”
She took a deep breath, her nerves still evident but tempered by a sense of trust. “Okay,” she said, her voice soft but resolute. “I’ll trust you.”
I leaned in, my lips brushing against her ear in a tender kiss. “And I’ll be there by your side the whole time,” I whispered, my voice filled with love.
As our children shared a knowing look and exchanged delighted smiles, I knew that our family was stronger than ever.
Sophia’s POV
Curled up on the couch in our cozy living room, I couldn’t help but feel nervous to meet Alexander’ grandfather. I turned to him, my curiosity piqued. “Can you tell me more about your grandfather? What’s he like?”
He leaned back, his expression thoughtful as he considered the question. “Well,” he began, his tone contemplative, “he’s quite strict, rigid, and maybe a bit proud. He’s traditional and values the old ways.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle at his description, playfully nudging him. “Wow, you really know how to make him sound appealing,” I teased, a hint of amusement in my voice.
He grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Well, he’s not exactly known for his charm,” he admitted, his tone light.
I laughed, the tension in my chest easing slightly. “I see. So, I should be prepared for some strict evaluations, then?”
He reached for my hand, his touch warm and reassuring. “Hey, don’t worry. You’re amazing just the way you are. And once he gets to know you, he’ll see that too.”
I couldn’t help but smile at his confidence, his unwavering belief in me. “I hope so,” I replied, my voice a mix of hope and uncertainty. “I just don’t want to make a bad impression.”
He pulled me into a comforting embrace, his arms wrapping around me. “You won’t. You’re perfect, and my grandfather will definitely see that,” he said, his voice tender and reassuring.
As his words enveloped me in warmth, Daniel and Daisy approached us, their eyes shining with earnestness. “Dad, Mom, don’t worry about Grandpa,” Daniel said, his tone confident. “He’s going to like Mom just like he likes us.”
Daisy nodded in agreement, her expression full of conviction. “Yeah, and we like her a lot, so he will too.”
Their unwavering support brought a smile to my lips, a surge of gratitude filling my heart. He affectionately tousled their hair, pride evident in his eyes. “You both have a lot of faith in me,” he said, his voice soft and appreciative.
Daniel grinned up at him, his eyes sparkling. “Of course, Dad. We know what we’re talking about.”
With a chuckle, I leaned in and kissed both of their cheeks. “Thank you, both of you,” I said, my voice filled with warmth. “Your confidence means a lot.”
He reached for my hand again, his fingers interlocking with mine. “See? You’re already winning over our toughest critics,” he said, a playful glint in his eyes.
As we sat there, surrounded by the love and support of our family, I felt a renewed sense of confidence. With his reassurances, our children’s unwavering belief, and the strength of our connection, I knew that no matter what lay ahead, I would face it with the knowledge that I was loved and accepted just as I was.
Because of nervousness, I couldn’t sleep the whole night. Alexander embraced me from behind, and our bodies were close. “Sophia, don’t worry. We’re here.”
“Yes, but…”
“Shh, take slow breaths, clear your mind of everything. Let’s sleep.” His voice was gentle, soothing my inner turmoil.
I took a deep breath and tried to do what Alexander said.
Tomorrow, I will go to the place where he grew up, the Shadow Moon Pack, a territory filled with werewolves. I believe this is a challenging journey, but as long as he’s here, the children are here, everything is the best arrangement.
