Alexander’s POV
Today is Sophia’s 25th birthday,
a milestone I was determined to make unforgettable. Beside me, our pups, Daniel and Daisy, held hands and giggled as they skipped ahead. Their anticipation mirrored mine, their eyes shining with the promise of a magical evening.
As we reached the castle gates, Sophia looked at me with a mixture of curiosity and surprise. “Where are we?” she asked, her voice laced with wonder.
I smiled, taking her hand in mine and squeezing it gently. “Just a little further,” I replied, guiding her along the stone pathway that wound through the manicured gardens.
And then, as we rounded a corner, the full spectacle of the scene before us came into view. The villa, bathed in soft light, stood regally against the backdrop of the enchanting castle. Fireworks burst overhead, painting the sky with brilliant colors that reflected in her eyes. The sight was breathtaking, and her gasp of astonishment made my heart swell with pride.
“It’s for you, Sophia.” I said, my voice filled with a mixture of affection and admiration. “A birthday banquet, in honor of the amazing woman you are.”
Tears glistened in her eyes as she turned to me, her lips trembling with emotion. “You did all this for me?” she whispered, her voice soft.
I nodded, my gaze never leaving hers. “Every moment with you is worth celebrating,” I confessed, my heart pounding with a mixture of nervousness and determination.
Our pups tugged at our hands, their excitement palpable as they urged us forward. Together, we entered the villa, the warm glow of candles casting a cozy ambiance within. The banquet table was adorned with her favorite foods, a feast fit for a queen.
As we settled into our seats, our pups’s eyes danced with excitement, and I couldn’t help but feel a surge of contentment. The time was right, the moment perfect. I turned to her, my heart racing.
“Before we continue with the celebration,” I began, my voice steady despite the butterflies in my stomach, “there’s something I want to say.”
Her gaze locked with mine, curiosity and anticipation mingling in her eyes. I took a deep breath, my fingers closing around a small box in my pocket. I opened it to reveal a delicate ring, its simple elegance mirroring my feelings.
“I know our journey had a unique beginning,” I said, my voice a blend of sincerity and vulnerability. “But as time passed, I couldn’t help but fall in love with you, deeper and more profoundly than I ever thought possible.”
Her expression shifted, her eyes filled with a mixture of surprise and emotion. “You… you love me?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, a soft smile tugging at my lips. “Yes, with all my heart,” I replied, my gaze unwavering. “You’ve brought light into our lives, and I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my days making you happy.”
Tears welled in her eyes, and I saw the emotions swirling within her. “I never expected this,” she admitted, her voice trembling. “I never imagined that this kind of love could be real.”
Leaning in, I took her hand in mine, my heart pouring into every word. “It’s as real as the sky above us, as genuine as the laughter of our pups,” I said, my voice filled with conviction. “So, on this night, in this enchanted place, I’m asking you to give me the honor of being my mate, my love, and my wife.”
Time seemed to slow as the world held its breath, the weight of the moment hanging in the air. And then, with a tremulous smile, she looked at me, her eyes shining with tears of joy.
Daisy, full of enthusiasm, clasped her hands together and turned to Sophia with a mischievous grin. “Come on, Mom, say yes! We all want you to!”
Daniel, a bit more reserved, gave his sister a gentle nudge. “Come on, don’t pressure her,” he chided playfully. “She should follow her own heart.”
Sophia looked between our children, her gaze moving from Daisy’s enthusiastic plea to Daniel’s understanding reassurance. I watched her, my heart in my throat, waiting for her response.
Daisy wasn’t one to be easily silenced. “But Mom, it’s so obvious! You love Dad, and he loves you. We’re already a family, you know.”
Daniel rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips. “Give her a chance to process, sis. It’s a big decision.”
Daisy pouted, crossing her arms in mock indignation. “Fine, fine. But Mom, think about it, okay?”
Sophia’s eyes shimmered with emotion as she looked at our children, their dynamics playing out before her. The love and affection between them and the way they interacted with her created a sense of warmth that enveloped us all.
Daisy, her determination showing no sign of wavering, gave Sophia a hopeful look. “Please, Mom?”
Daniel, a bit more understated, stepped closer and rested a hand on Sophia’s arm. “They’re right, you know,” he said gently. “You should listen to your heart.”
Tears welled in Sophia’s eyes, and she took a deep breath, her emotions palpable. “You two…” she began, her voice soft and tender, “you mean the world to me.”
Daisy’s eyes brightened, and she gave Sophia an encouraging smile. “And you mean the world to us. We want you to be happy.”
Daniel nodded, his gaze unwavering as he added, “We’ve seen the way you and Dad look at each other. It’s special.”
A mixture of emotions swirled within Sophia’s eyes as she met their earnest gazes. And then, as if their collective encouragement had settled something within her, she turned to me. Her voice was barely above a whisper, yet it carried the weight of a monumental decision. “Yes,” she said, her voice filled with determination. “Yes, I’ll marry you.”
A rush of joy and relief surged through me, and before I knew it, I had lifted her off the ground in a joyful embrace. The children cheered, their laughter and cheers filling the air like music. I held her close, my heart brimming with gratitude and elation.
Daisy clapped her hands, her smile as wide as the sky. “Yay, Mom said yes!”
Daniel, a bit more composed, joined in the applause, a grin tugging at his lips. “Congratulations, both of you.”
As I set Sophia back on her feet, our children enveloped us in a hug, their embrace a testament to the unity we had built as a family. Sophia’s tears of emotion mirrored my own, and as our children cheered and laughter filled the air, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of contentment.
Sophia, finally belongs to me now.
