Ethan
I looked at my beautiful Ava walking towards me and looking radiant in her bridal gown. It was our mating ceremony again and this time, it was certain that it was going to happen for good. We had gone through some rough times and had finally put it behind us. I was glad that Ava had decided to marry me again.
It felt good to be back to myself and I felt appalled at all what I had done and said while I was crazy. I would also choose to call it my crazy period as my pride wouldn’t allow me agree that I was possessed by an evil being.
The guilt of all that I had done pressed down on my conscience and I couldn’t stop worrying about it. I had been wracked with guilt, shame and depression for days after everything was over that I wouldn’t even go out to see anyone. It was Ava, Rudolph and the wolves who constantly cheered me up and reminded me that it wasn’t my fault that all those things had happened.
I didn’t think I could ever have gotten over my nasty emotions if it hadn’t been for them, most especially Ava. I didn’t think I could have pulled through that phase of post-dark wizard effects if not for her strength and her love.
They had given me assurance that my people had been made to know what happened and didn’t hold any grudge against me. I had gotten the courage to face them again and had been stunned to tears at their forgiveness and acceptance of me.
I had released all the people I had thrown into prison for ridiculous reasons, released the werewolves’ father and also apologized to them for what I had done. They had waved off my apology and told me that I didn’t need to apologize for what wasn’t my fault.
Albert, their father, had patted me on the back and told me to stop feeling guilty, that I had only brought them closer to getting rid of the dark wizard instead of having his sons look all over the world for him.
Ava had been beside me, every step of the way and I had drawn the strength I needed from her. Now, she was about to be mine fully and for ever. She was going to be my strength, peace, joy and everything in between. I couldn’t wait. I couldn’t wait to make it up to her for those moments I had made her cry. I promised in my heart that I would give her nothing but happy memories for the rest of our excessively long years.
We said our vows and smiled as the crowd cheered for us. I pulled her in for a kiss, taking her mouth in a move that spoke of love, passion and eternity of fulfilment.
The crowd cheered and she blushed as we broke apart from the kiss. I pulled her into an embrace, tucking her close into my shoulder. She could stay there, being sheltered in my arms till she was done blushing.
“I love you.” I said, pulling her apart to look into her eyes. Damn, she was still blushing and I couldn’t have been more turned on by this woman. “I love you, Ava.”
“I love you, Ethan.”
I believed her. She couldn’t have stayed with me if she didn’t love me.
After the ceremony, we mixed with our people accepting their congratulatory greetings. Everyone loved Ava and couldn’t stop gushing that we were finally married. I chuckled at the idea that they loved the idea of her being their queen more than I did.
The werewolves moved closer to us, the five of them smiling at us. I suspected that they were coming to tell me that they were going back home. After all, they had gotten rid of the dark wizard, had gotten their father back and had only stayed behind because of the wedding.
“Congratulations.” Albert said as they got to where we were.
“Thank you.” I grinned at them. “Are you leaving already?”
“Yes.” Quinn replied. “We still have a lot of things to do back home.”
I winced, hoping it wasn’t renovation as I could remember from my memories that we had left their house a mess when we had been there.
I shrugged off the memory. I wasn’t going to feel guilty anymore as they had all advised me to. I was going to heal. “Thanks for staying for the wedding.”
Jack chuckled. “We couldn’t have missed it even if you had chased us off.”
We all laughed. I smiled as Ava and Mia embraced each other. It was amazing how they were both queens. I had heard of the werewolves and found out that Mia was their mate and was going to be Luna soon.
“Let’s keep in touch.” I said.
“Sure.” The wolves nodded.
Rudolph joined us. “I can’t believe I was about to miss the farewell party.”
“Wouldn’t have gone without seeing you, man.” Quinn chuckled.
“Better. I believe now is a good time to exchange our contacts.” Rudolph smiled.
Quinn smiled back. “You bet.”
