She wanted to go to the capital herself to check on the Leo&Rose Cosmetics branch there.
Leo had no interest in running the company and originally didn’t plan to go. However, he suddenly remembered his agreement with Marina Meredith’s father, Josiah Meredith, and decided to make the trip.
Could there really be hidden secrets about his own background?
The next day at noon, Leo’s flight landed at the capital’s international airport.
At the exit, Leo saw a man in a suit holding a sign with his name on it.
This man was Joshua, the general manager of Leo&Rose Cosmetics’ branch in the capital, arranged by Rosemary Fanny to receive Leo.
Leo approached him and introduced himself, “Mr. Joshua, right? I’m Leo.”
They shook hands, and Joshua quickly said, “Mr. Bloomer, just call me Joshua. Welcome to the capital!”
They chatted as they walked towards the parking lot.
Joshua drove a dignified and imposing Mercedes.
After getting in the car, Joshua smiled while turning the wheel, “Mr. Bloomer, you must be tired from the journey. What would you like to eat for lunch?”
“Anything will do,” Leo replied casually, not being picky about food when traveling.
Over half an hour later, Joshua took Leo to a restaurant.
Though small, the restaurant had excellent food.
“Mr. Bloomer, what brings you to the capital this time?” Joshua asked at an opportune moment.
“No specific reason, just wanted to take a look around,” Leo answered casually.
“I see. How about I take you to experience the capital’s nightlife tonight and visit the branch tomorrow morning? Does that sound good?” Joshua suggested.
“Sure, you arrange it,” Leo nodded.
After arranging the hotel, at nine in the evening, Joshua took Leo to an entertainment club.
The club had six floors; the first was a KTV, and the second and third were bars. Joshua took Leo directly to the bar.
The second and third floors were very spacious, with an open design. The third floor had booths all around with great views of the stage performances on the second floor.
Although it was just past nine, the bar was already packed. Colorful lights flashed around, and the DJ on stage was tuning the music to warm up the atmosphere.
Joshua had reserved one of the best spots on the third floor. A waiter respectfully led them up.
The booth was luxurious and spacious, able to seat at least a dozen people.
Joshua had initially called for some models to accompany them, but Leo declined directly upon learning this.
“Mr. Bloomer, what would you like to drink?” Joshua handed Leo the drink menu.
“You decide. Mr. Joshua, how long have you been in the capital? Did you come here when the Leo&Rose Cosmetics branch was established?”
Although Joshua asked Leo to call him by his first name, Joshua was older than Leo, so Leo still addressed him as Mr. Joshua.
“I came when the branch was established, but I actually lived in the capital for a few years after I graduated,” Joshua nodded quickly.
“How much do you know about the big families in the capital? Have you heard of the Bloomer family?”
Joshua nodded quickly and said, “Of course I’ve heard of them. The Bloomer family is one of the top families in the capital.”
“Tell me more about them.”
“I only know a little. I heard that the old master of the Bloomer family is a founding hero who survived countless battles.”
“The old master has three sons. I don’t know their names or what they do.”
Joshua’s information was mostly hearsay. After all, such high-level circles were beyond his reach.
Leo nodded thoughtfully.
“Mr. Bloomer, why are you asking about this?” Joshua was curious.
Logically, Leo should be asking about the branch’s affairs, not about the Bloomer family.
Wait!
Mr. Bloomer’s name is Leo Bloomer… Could he be related to the Bloomer family?
“Nothing much, just curious about the big families in the capital,” Leo said casually.
“There are many big families in the capital,” Joshua started talking enthusiastically. “There used to be four major aristocratic families and five major families. But now there are fewer truly top-tier aristocratic families and families.”
“There’s an old saying that wealth doesn’t last beyond three generations. Maybe that’s what it means. Most of today’s big families are run by the second generation, with the third generation preparing to take over.”
“What’s the difference between aristocratic families and families?”
“They’re essentially the same, but for distinction, those in politics and military are called aristocratic families, while those in business are called families. Nowadays, many aristocratic families and families intermarry and mix politics with business, so they’re distinguished by their heads.”
“If the head is in business or military politics, like the Bloomer family’s head is in politics and military, they’re generally called an aristocratic family.”
“Besides the Bloomer family, which other aristocratic families and big families are there now?”
“The most powerful ones are the Bloomer family, Meredith family, Rossetti family, and Wrightao family. Others like Watson Family, Leighton Family, and Lynch Family are also well-known.”
“Below them are second- and third-tier families. The Yan family used to be famous but has now fallen to a second-tier family.”
“If these big families’ descendants aren’t outstanding talents, they gradually decline. Most of today’s third generation are either mediocre or playboys; few are exceptional like Baldwin Meredith.”
“What about the Bloomer family? Who’s outstanding among their third generation?”
“The Bloomer family… I think it’s the eldest son’s son. But I don’t know his name or what he does,” Joshua replied honestly.
As they talked, the bar manager personally brought over a tray of drinks with an extra bottle of Remy Martin.
“Why is there an extra bottle?” Joshua asked puzzledly.
“It’s a gift from our bar,” the manager smiled. “I have a favor to ask; could you please give up this booth…”
“Give it up? Are you joking? Do you know how much I paid for this booth?” Joshua interrupted angrily before the manager could finish.
To host Leo properly, he had pulled many strings since this morning to secure this prime spot.
“I’m sorry, sir. We’ll refund all your money and offer you this bottle of Remy Martin as well as cover your expenses for tonight.”
The manager kept apologizing with his head down, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
“Is this about money?” Joshua fumed. “I don’t mind paying more!”
It was his first time hosting Mr. Bloomer; he couldn’t lose face or he’d struggle in the company later!
“Forget it, Mr. Joshua. Let them have it,” Leo waved it off and turned to the manager. “But you should at least tell us who we’re giving it up for.”
“Thank you for your understanding,” the manager quickly nodded in gratitude. “If it were anyone else, we wouldn’t ask you to give up your seat.”
“To be honest, it’s for the third young master of the Bloomer family.”
