Alpha Ricardo’s POV
Lord Philip stared at me coldly, his eyes burning in anger. His hands were tightly clenched at his sides, and I could see the redness beginning to flush up his neck. “Don’t dare me,” he growled.
I scoffed angrily, still holding his gaze. His fists were clenched, his jaw clenched, and a bead of sweat rolled down his forehead. The air was tensed, filled with palpable tension. I stood my ground, refusing to be intimidated by his domineering presence. My mouth was tightly shut, my expression was cold and Stoic, and I never moved. We both stared at each other in blank horror, neither scoffing nor blinking. We were still for an eternity until finally the silence was broken by his words, ”Let me have her,” He demanded, ”And what makes you think I would give her?” I responded while increasing the intensity of the flames in my hands. ”She is my mate and will be by my side,” I spoke firmly while he growled and held my gaze with blood-filled eyes.
This sight would easily have scared anyone, but not me. ”You are asking for war, little boy,” He threatened, ”And war it shall be,” I responded with no atom of fear in me.
The atmosphere in the room had suddenly become tense as Lord Philip stepped up close to me. His face was expressionless, and his hands were clenched into fists as he glared at me. I could feel his cold breath and hear the low, angry whisper as he finally spoke. “I will get her from you sooner than you can imagine,” he said, his voice an icy whisper. “Before your very eyes, she will be gone, and there is nothing you would be able to do.”
My heart skipped a bit as his words sent icy shivers down my spine. His words weren’t just threats; they were promises, and I knew he would keep them. ”Leave!” I said, fuming with rage. ”Leave before I do something you will regret,” I yelled, increasing the flames in my hands. My wolf was getting out of control, and I knew he would make me do things that might be disastrous.
Lord Philip glared at me with rage-filled eyes, which told me this wasn’t over yet. With one last glare, he moved his gaze around before walking toward the door. As he reached the door, he turned and held my gaze briefly before leaving.
With a growl, I ran my fingers through my hair and held my gaze with Jayson, who wore a worried look on his face. ”You have to do something, and you have to do it really quick, I don’t like the signs I’m getting,” He said while I inhaled deeply and quenched the flames in my hands. ”You have to do it, Alpha Ricardo, you have to.” He said, and without explaining, I knew what he meant, ”But…” I tried speaking, but he cut in, ”There are no buts, Alpha Ricardo, you know the consequences of what will happen if you don’t do it.” He warned, while I released a heavy sigh and nervously massaged my forehead with panic. ”She will hate us, but it’s the best decision,” Eric spoke in my head, causing me to release a sigh.
A moment of silence filled the entire room until I spoke. Get the priestess, tell her I’m getting married to my mate tonight,” I announced to Jayson and got a nod from him.
With a deep sigh, I teleported from the sitting room and appeared in Mia’s room, where I met her seated on the bed, deep in thought. The moment she saw me, she stood to her feet and began attacking me with slaps on my chest. ”Let me go!” She yelled while throwing slaps at me.
”You may leave,” I told Simone, who stood by the door.
”Let me out,” She yelled at the top of her voice while I groaned and grabbed her both hands. ”Stay calm, and let’s talk.” I pleaded with anger while she stared at me with rage-burning eyes. ”Have a seat,” I ordered in a low, commanding tone before letting go of her hands. She held my gaze with hate, but didn’t say or do a thing.
Exhausted, I tiredly massaged my forehead as I thought on how to begin the conversation. ”Just go on,” My wolf encouraged.
”We need to talk. Can you have a seat?” I asked, ”No, just say what you have to say.” She spoke angered.
Silence filled the entire room for a moment until I spoke. ”We are getting married tonight,” I announced while holding her gaze, filled with rage and hate.
She gasped and stumbled backward, her hands covering her mouth. ”What do you mean?” She exclaimed, aghast. ”What kind of craziness is this?”
”We have to do it. Your life is at stake,” I pleaded.
She glared at me, her eyes filled with hate. ”No!” she spat, her voice dripping with contempt. ”I won’t marry you. Not now, and never!” She held my gaze, her posture stiff and her expression resolute.
She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth, glaring at me with a fiery rage. ”You can’t force me,” she hissed, her voice laced with venom. I could see the hatred burning in her eyes. ”I won’t do it. I won’t marry you.” she declared firmly while I stood quietly waiting for her to speak more, but she didn’t.
”Are you done?” I asked with raised eyebrows, ”Do you have something else to say.” I asked in an exhausted tone. I was getting tired of everything. Throughout my life, I have faced difficult situations, and now this.
She glared at me defiantly, her hands balled up into tight fists, and shook her head. ”No,” she said firmly. ”I said what I had to say, and I mean it. I won’t marry you.” Her tone was stubborn and unyielding, and she made it clear that she would not be swayed.
”Fine, that means I will have to do it this way,” I said and made my way to her while she took a step backward. ”Don’t get close!” She threatened while pointing a finger at me. I knew what I was about to do was wrong, but it was the only option left. She might hate me for what I’m about to do, but I’d prefer she hates me than lose her.
I stepped forward, my broad frame blocking her path and my eyes burning intensely. ”Mia, you need to understand that this is for the best,” I said, my voice calm but filled with resolve. ”Please forgive me.” With those words, I pushed her to the bed and climbed over her. ”What are you doing?” She yelled and tried leaving the bed, but I grabbed her hands and pinned them above her head. ”Now!” I told my wolf and immediately locked eyes with her before she will get a clue of what I was about to do.
I held her gaze, my eyes burning with intensity as I spoke in a low, commanding voice. ”You will get married to me tonight,” I commanded, my words rolling off my tongue as a hypnotic spell. ”You will obey me without question.” She stared at me, her eyes softening as I held her gaze. I could see the spell taking hold, and I hissed, my grip tightening around her wrists. ”agreed?,” I asked, my voice heavy with authority. ”Yes, mate.” She nodded obediently, her eyes still locked with mine. ”It is done,” My wolf announced, causing a heavy sigh to leave my lips.
I knew she felt a strange sense of calm wash over her as I spoke. She felt herself being pulled into a trance, and her eyes began to droop. I watched as she drifted off into a deep sleep, her breathing slow and steady.
With a throaty groan, I moved away from her and made her lie properly on the bed. I stole one more glare at her before standing to my feet. ”Make sure you get married tonight. You know the spell only lasts for twenty-four hours.” My Wolf advised, while I nodded my head and watched her sleep heavily. ”She is going to hate me,” I sighed and stole one more glare at her before teleporting away.
I arrived in the sitting room and met Jayson talking to Simone and a few guards. They acknowledged my presence while I took a seat and watched Jayson instructing them to guard the Palace. He appointed Simone and two of my best guards to guard Mia’s room, starting from that moment.
I sat and watched him give directions until he was through and sent them off. ”Is everything fine?” He asked, while I responded with a nod. ” Everything will be fine; I have already contacted the priestess. Do you want me to inform the Gammas?” He asked, but I shook my head in disapproval, ”There will be no need for that, I need the wedding to be a secret one, so it wouldn’t get to lord Philip’s ears.” I explained while Jayson kept quiet and took the seat across me.
”The gammas have to be present at the wedding.” He spoke, and I knew he was right, but I was worried about Lord Philip getting to know. ”I won’t tell them it’s a wedding. I’ll tell them it’s an important gathering,” He suggested, while I went silent, pondering with thoughts.
My gammas haven’t learned the truth about Mia and I not being siblings, and neither do they know we are mates. ”We will explain everything to them when they get here,” He assured me while I nodded and stood at my feet. ”Take care of everything. I’ll be back,” I said and teleported away.
I arrived in a familiar sitting room and got noticed by a maid walking by. ”Welcome, alpha Ricardo.” She greeted, ”Is my uncle at home?” I asked and got a nod from her, ”Tell him of my arrival.” I said and took a seat while she left to deliver my message.
A male servant came to me and asked to offer me a drink, which I rejected. After sitting for almost two minutes, I saw uncle walking down the stairs while we held gaze. He climbed down the stairs and sat across me with a blank look. ”My wolf tells me you’ve made a crucial decision, and you are afraid of the outcome.” He said while I remained silent, ”Tell me what you’ve done.” he asked, and I remained silent, deliberating if I’d made the right decision. ”Does it have anything to do with Mia?” He asked, and I replied with a nod. ”Do you want to talk about it?” He asked, causing me to release a frustrated sigh.
I went on and explained everything in detail to him. From the test results I got, to the email I received from dad and hypnotizing Mia.
After explaining everything, I stood to my feet and walked around the sitting room with my both hands behind me. ”You made the right decision,” Said Uncle Stephen. ”Unfortunately, you’ve lost Mia by hypnotizing her. She might never forgive you when she gets back to her senses, and might also never trust you again.” He told those bitter truths to me, and all I could do was gulp in pain because I knew he was right.
