Alpha Ricardo’s POV
”I didn’t invite him, in fact, I haven’t really seen him in person.” I explained to uncle, who nodded his head, ”And why is he seeking for Mia?” I spoke worriedly as so many thoughts buzzed in my head. Perhaps she had offended a follower of his while she was in France, or he had a relationship with the dude I almost killed.
”There is only one way to find out.” Uncle Stephen said and gently tapped my shoulder. ”Are you scared?” he asked, ”No, I’m not.” I spoke truthfully. Actually, I wasn’t scared of him. If anyone should be scared, it has to be him because the vampire’s greatest fear were fire and flames, and I possess it.
What I was really worried about was his visit. Something tells me his visit will trouble me. I could feel it in my Bones.
”Just go and see what he has to say.” Eric urged.
”Let’s go uncle.” I took hold of his wrist and teleported away.
We arrived in the sitting room, where I met Lord Philip seated on the single-seater couch with his legs crossed.
Since it was the first time we had met, I took a brief look at him.
He has short blonde hair that stopped on his neck, white skin tone and well-built muscles. Mere looking at him, one would think he would be in his forties, but rumor has it that he is one of the Lucky vampires who stopped aging. According to rumor, it was said that he is three hundred years old but stopped aging at the age of forty.
Our gazes met, and I could swear his eyes looked exactly like Mia’s. He has the same fascinating set of sea-blue eyes, which look exactly like Mia’s.
”Alpha Ricardo.” His words snapped me out of my thoughts. ”Lord Philip.” I responded, gaining my composure.
”I believe I came unannounced.”
”That’s correct and may I know the reason?” I asked, annoyed.
Although the enmity between the werewolves and vampires was resolved a year ago, we were still finding it a bit difficult to come to terms with each other.
I watched him stood to his feet and move closer while we held each other’s gaze. He stood and stopped just two steps away from me before speaking. ”Where is Mia?” he asked in a demanding tone which got me upset.
”And why are you looking for Mia?” I demanded possessively while he held my gaze angrily before speaking, ”Don’t a father have the right to see his daughter?” He asked with raised eyebrows while I stood confused.
”Go get my daughter, I want to see her.” He spoke again, getting me more confused.
”You are Mia’s father?” Uncle Stephen asked, ”Yea, isn’t the resemblance striking?” Lord Philip asked, and indeed he was right. The same color of hair, white skin tone and the eyes that remind me so much of Mia.
”This is not possible.” I murmured in disbelief while shaking my head. ”I believe there is so much I have to talk about, but I really need to see my daughter, only she is entitled to hear it.” Lord Philip spoke firmly while moving his gaze around.
With confused eyebrows, I stared at uncle, who urged me to call Mia. ”No.” I rejected through mind Link. ”Just do it, he won’t be able to do anything.” Uncle Stephen assured me.
I moved my gaze to him and saw he was putting on an expressionless face, which was hard to tell if he was getting angry. ”Go get Mia.” I told a guard who lowered his head and left.
”You are just like your father, very intelligent and peaceful.” Lord Philip said, and went back to his seat.
”Calm down, if this is really true, then it’s good news.” Eric, my wolf, spoke while I groaned and shook my head. For a strange reason, I was panicked and scared. ”It’s okay!” Uncle Stephen spoke through mind-link when he noticed my uneasiness.
”Mine!” My wolf howled in my head, announcing Mia’s presence to me. Curious, I moved my gaze to the stairs and saw her walking down the stairs. She was still dressed in the black jumpsuit, her blond hair were scattered. Her body was full of bruises, which shows she had refused to heal herself.
The moment she got down the stairs, she held gaze with lord Philip, who quickly stood to his feet. ”My Mia.” He called and tried getting to her, but I blocked him and stood before Mia. ”Stay away!” I demanded while holding his gaze.
I noticed he groaned and took out his fangs, showing he was angry, but he sighed and took them back.
”What’s going on here?” Mia asked from behind me, forcing me to turn to her. I held her gaze and saw confusion in her eyes, but that wasn’t my actual problem. ”Why haven’t you healed yourself.” I asked while staring at her bruised body.
”None of your business.” She spoke with so much hatred for me in her eyes, which torn my heart into pieces. I watched her move away and stood before Lord Philip. She held his gaze with so much confusion in her eyes. ”You are the man I see in my dreams for the past few weeks.” She spoke, astounded.
”I believe that was our bond.” he responded with a big smile revealing his beautiful set of arranged teeth.
”Who are you?” Mia asked, ”I’m your father.” He responded quickly.
Mia’s POV
”My father?” I asked with confused eyebrows.
”Yes my Maria.” He responded and took a step closer. The closer he stood, I couldn’t help but marvel how I look so much like this man. ”How is that possible?” I asked with a scoff, still holding his gaze.
He didn’t say a word, rather he ran his gaze on me, not in a lustful way but with curiosity. I noticed a big frown appear on his face before he held my gaze. ”Who did this to you.” He asked and tried touching my bruised arm, but I took a step backward. ”Who?” He inquired in a demanding tone, moving his gaze to alpha Ricardo. ”Why are there bruises in her arms?” He asked Ricardo, who didn’t give him a response. Angrily, he groaned, clenched his both fist together and shut his eyes. ”Steph is the cause of all this.” He murmured and opened his eyes. ”Steph?” I asked, even though I knew who he was referring to.
”Yes, your mother. If only she agreed to my plea, both of you would have been with me.” He sighed heavily and tried touching me, but Alpha Ricardo pushed him away. ”I told you to stay away from her.” He spoke possessively.
”Calm down, son, let’s talk like mature adults.” Ricardo’s uncle pleaded and tapped him on the shoulders. ”Let’s take a seat.” He gestured and led Ricardo to the two-seater couch. ”Sit!” He urged Ricardo, who Reluctantly sat while his uncle sat beside him.
”Take a seat, my dear.” The strange man gestured to me with a friendly smile on his face, which I didn’t return. Confused, I sat on the one-seater couch across Ricardo’s seat. We both held a gaze and I could see Ricardo seemed worried and scared.
The strange man sat on the one-seater couch beside me and heaved a deep breath while we all waited for him to speak.
”I’m Lord Philip, lord of the vampires.” He introduced himself while I stared at him, terrified.
I’ve heard a lot about him, How powerful and cruel he is. Rumors have it that a hundred years ago, during the last war between the werewolves and vampires, He was the leader of the vampires, and he was massively skilled. So many werewolves died at his hands. Luckily, the fight was stopped, but his name speaks fear and power. With panic, I moved my gaze to Ricardo, who held my gaze. ”No need to get scared.” Ricardo spoke through telepathy. It was obvious he noticed my uneasiness.
”I and Steph, your mother, were lovers. Despite the enmity between our kinds, we never let it stop our love. I was willing to leave my position and titles just to be with your mother. I wanted to leave a simple life with her, but on one faithful day…” He stopped and slowly caressed his beard.
”Your mother told me she wanted to see me, that it was really important. Curious and worried, I went to her place, and that was when she broke the news to me that she had finally met her mate.” He scoffed and stood to his feet. ”She told me she met him at a birthday party that he actually wasn’t staying in London, but rather he stays in California and only came to London for his friend’s birthday party.” He paused and turned to me, giving me the opportunity to see that his eyes which looks exactly like mine were blurred with tears, and he was doing his best not to blink.
Seeing him this way, all the fear I had for him disappeared, and I felt so sorry for him, but then I was curious about what he had to say because mother never told me about him. Mother and I would talk about her past dates before she met father, but she never made mention of him and here he is, claiming they dated.
”She told me he is her mate and she can’t stay away from him…” He sucked a deep breath and continued, ”I pleaded with her, I told her I would do whatever she wants me to do. I was willing to lay down my titles just to be with her, but she broke up with me and told me she would be leaving for California with him.” He scoffed bitterly and shook his head. ”Do you know she was one month pregnant with you, and she didn’t tell me. She left with you in her womb.” he spoke angrily.
Startled, I stood to my feet and shook my head in disbelief, ”This is not true.” I mumbled.
”I pleaded with her to stay, I told her how much I loved her, but she refused and broke up with me.” He took a step closer to me, and this time I did not move away. ” I came back the next day and realized she was already gone. Heartbroken, I went through her things, so I could keep them in remembrance of her and while searching through I found a pregnancy test results. I read through it and realized the results were positive, she was one month gone.” He flashed me a weak smile and went back to his seat, while I just stood there, numb.
So many thoughts played in my head as I tried to process all he was saying.
”I got mixed feelings about it. A part of me feels she has been cheating on me, and when she realized she was pregnant, she decided to break up. Another part of me was curious, wondering if the pregnancy was mine, but I doubted it because I have spent almost three hundred years on earth, and I wasn’t able to impregnate a woman. Then why would Steph be different?” He paused and silence filled the whole place as no one said a word, waiting for him to continue.
”Heartbroken, I left your mother’s apartment and decided to let go of her. I made sure I forgot about her, and I was able to do that not until four years ago, when I saw you.” He paused while I stared at him with confused eyebrows. ” I came to California for the first werewolf and vampires peace meeting. On my way to the venue of the meeting, I saw you coming down from a car with two other girls. The moment I saw you, I couldn’t help but keep staring at you. Something about you got me attached to you, and I couldn’t ignore it. I told one of my men to come down from the car and follow you.” He muttered, while I just stood there, dumbfounded. I was being followed and I didn’t know it.
”He reported and told me you were the daughter of Alpha Luciano and your mother’s name was Stephanie. The moment I knew you were Stephanie’s child, I began having different thoughts in my head. I became curious about you and asked my men to follow you around while I looked for a way to meet with Stephanie, but two days later, news came to me that you guys were involved in a car accident, and only you survived.” He explained, while I just stood there, shocked and confused.
I moved my gaze to Ricardo and noticed he was wearing a blank look, which was making it difficult for me to tell his emotion in all this.
”Quickly I made a call to the hospital and through some connections I stole some samples of your blood for a DNA test.” He announced while I slowly sat back on the couch with panting breath. I sent the sample to my personal doctor in London while I remained in California. Everything in me told me you were my child, despite not having the result yet. I wanted to come to you, but then I was a vampire, and you were exhibiting the traits of a werewolf.”
His words made me more confused as I marveled how I would be his child and don’t have any traits of a vampire. The werewolves and vampires are sworn enemies, so I haven’t heard of a child born of a vampire father and a werewolf mother. Tension filled my entire body as I nervously clenched both sides of my dress…
”The next day I heard Stephanie wasn’t buried, but rather was thrown in an evil forest. My men also brought to my notice what he did to you during his father’s ceremony.” He spoke in a furious tone and held a gaze with alpha Ricardo, who had been quiet.
”The night you came to steal her body, I was also in the forest. I came with my men to retrieve her body, but while they were about to take it, you appeared, and we hid, so we wouldn’t get you scared. I noticed that you were in so much pain and I wanted to reveal myself to you and comfort you, but he appeared from nowhere in his wolf form.” He said while I stared at Alpha Ricardo, confused.
”You fainted, and he shifted back into his human form, picked you up and left. Quickly, my men picked up your mom’s corpse, and we left.” His words dumbfounded me as I stared at Ricardo, who couldn’t meet my gaze.
”A Few days later the test results came in, and it was confirmed that I’m your biological father.” he announced, sending a cold shiver down my spine. ”I was unable to come to you or claim you as mine because of the enmity between our kinds, so starting from that moment I made sure the vampires agreed to the Peace meeting and luckily the enmity was settled; I think now is the right time for we to meet.” He said and went silent.
Silence filled the whole place as everyone pounded in thoughts, including me. I couldn’t believe that all my life I have been living in a lie. The man I thought was my father was never my father, which means…
”You are not siblings” Alpha Stephen announced to alpha Ricardo, who held my gaze. This was supposed to be good news for me, but it wasn’t. Being his sister or not won’t change what I feel about him.
”I don’t believe you.” Alpha Ricardo spoke stubbornly,
”Then you can conduct a DNA test yourself. Normally, I shouldn’t be having this conversation with your father, only if he was still alive. I don’t have time to exchange words with kids.” Lord Philip said, and stood to his feet. He held my gaze and flickered a big smile, ”It’s time to go home, my princess.” He said, bringing forth his hand to me.
”Never!” Alpha Ricardo opposed while getting on his feet. ”Over my dead body will I let you take her!”
